According to a report in Christian Post and other News outlets, on April 4, 2016, a young pastor in Basra, Baghdad miraculously escaped from a car bomb attack.

On the fateful day, Pastor Joseph had left his home and entered his car to go to Church. However, on the familiar journey toward the church where he worked as a pastor, he immediately sensed something was wrong. Then almost right away, an explosion ripped through the car, violently shaking the vehicle and—at the same time—engulfing it in flames.

He couldn’t see anything beyond the flames and heard the voice of someone outside shouting that the man inside the car was dying. Though shocked by what was happening, yet against all odds, Pastor Joseph was able to exit the rapidly burning vehicle.

The amazing thing was that, though he had been in the burning car, he came out unscathed with no burns at all. There were pieces of glass in his hair and parts of the exploded bomb in the scarf around his neck, yet he didn’t have any scratch. Nothing touched him and he did not lose even a drop of blood.

Also amazing was the fact that, after the flames had gone out, every part of the car was destroyed and damaged, except for the driver’s seat, where the pastor had been sitting. His miraculous escape became a wonder to many people in Bagdad, especially at a time when many had already been killed from similar car bomb attacks.
