Psalms 90:12 ” So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”

DAILY READING – – 2 Peter 3; Jeremiah 45-46; Psalm 141

Robert Boyle, was a 17th-century scientist who is known today as the founder of modern chemistry.
He was born to one of the wealthiest families in all of England. However, his father did not want him to grow up spoiled and so in his first four years of life, he was sent to live with a peasant family.
At age thirteen, Robert Boyle was sent to study in Switzerland, while there his life dramatically changed due to an encounter he had one stormy night. That night, Robert was so terrified by the loud claps of thunder that he began to think the end of the world had come and he was unprepared to face the day of Judgment. After that dreadful day, Robert solemnly resolved to surrender his life to God and begin to live for Him.
This experience became a turning point in his life.
Boyle grew up to become a great scientist whose remarkable faith was the driving force behind his achievements. His deep love for the Scriptures led him to write several important books relating scientific knowledge and the Christian faith.
He also promoted God’s Kingdom through his active support for foreign Christian missions and Bible translations.
Robert Boyle’s Christian faith shaped the way he conducted his work and he made such outstanding impact that today he is celebrated as the father of modern Chemistry.

While it took a terrifying thunderstorm to turn Boyle’s heart to God, we don’t have to wait for a life-altering event to awake us to the consciousness of eternity.
No matter what we accomplish on earth, our greatest achievement is how we scored in the race of eternity.

1 Corinthians 9:24-27 says we should run in such a way as to get the Heavenly prize.
Our time on earth should be spent in living for God and doing all we can to promote His kingdom. At the end of the day that is what matters most.
It is foolish to put all our energy in the pursuit of earthly things that will last only a few years while ignoring pursuit of Heavenly treasures that will last forever.
We must understand that we are living in the last days, therefore there’s great need to run with the right focus of seeking God first and pursuing what He has called us to accomplish on earth.
The truth is that time is fast running out on earth. Eternity is counting. You may delay, but time won’t. The clock is always ticking, the hours are always silently going by, many times unnoticed.
We must remember that one day we will be called upon to give an account of our lives, therefore we need wisdom to maximize our days on earth..

Psalms 90:12 says: So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”

It is the Holy Spirit that imparts to us the wisdom to maximize our days. Therefore let us seek greater intimacy with Him through daily quiet time spent in studying the Word, praying and worshipping. As we commit to making God our topmost pursuit, surely there shall be a reward and our expectations shall not be cut short.

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to live a life that pleases You always. Today,, by the help of the Holy Spirit I commit to making You and the affairs of Your kingdom my topmost priority in life in Jesus Name ..
