Psalm 91:14-15 ‘Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.’

Dr. John Gibson Paton is known as a foremost Scottish missionary to the New Hebrides Islands of the South Pacific.
During the course of his ministry, he was often invited to preach in Australia. Travelling in Australia at that time, in the 19th century, was rather difficult, and Dr. John Paton encountered many hardships.
One day, he had an appointment that was nine miles away and there was no train transportation and no horse could be hired. So he started out on foot, carrying a heavy bag with him. As night grew closer, he trudged on, his bag growing heavier all the time. At length he met some men and asked for direction to his preaching destination and they pointed him to a light in the distance.
As he moved towards the light, it was already dark and there was no one else on the road. In the darkness, he missed his way and soon found himself lost in a swamp where his feet became trapped in the murky water and he couldn’t move. He knew that if he didn’t get any help soon, he could be dead before the morning. So he called and called out for help, but no one heard him. However God heard him.
As the night drew on, and his situation seemed hopeless, strangely, about midnight, he heard two men in conversation, close to where he was trapped. Summoning all his strength he cried out and was finally heard.
The men succeeded in rescuing Dr. Paton from the swamp, and helped him that night to get to his destination, where he was kindly received.
Dr. Paton’s faith in God had delivered him from that near-death experience and he would go on in his ministry proclaiming the faithfulness of God and winning many souls to Christ.

Indeed we must never give up crying out to God for help.
No matter how lonely it may seem in your midnight ordeal, always remember that God’s ears are open to the cry of the righteous.
As long as you trust in Him, He is never at all limited in organizing a rescue for you.
Those times when it may seem that no man can hear you or help you, God hears. He is always our ever present help in the time of need.
As we place our faith in Him, anything and everything is possible.
This is why we must always keep our faith alive. Faith is the link that keeps us connected to Heaven for a rescue operation

No matter how many times, it may seem you have cried or prayed, one thing you should never do is to give up.
As you keep knocking the door will be opened, as you keep asking you will surely receive your miracle.
The example of the widow in Luke 18, who persistently asked the judge for justice until she got it, gives us a picture of what happens if we refuse to quit crying out and reaching out to God.
We serve the prayer-answering God. Though weeping may endure for the night, surely, joy is coming in the morning. As long as you don’t give up there will be an answer.

As you are praying God is organizing a rescue, He is orchestrating the people and circumstances that will pull you out of that miry situation.
Indeed, we are never alone in the midnight seasons of life. Jesus says He will never leave us nor forsake us, He will be with us to the end of time. Whatever we may face in life, He is always there with us. His Name is Immanuel – God with us.
As He has promised in Psalm 91:14, when we call upon Him in trouble He will deliver us and show us His salvation.

Therefore today, no matter how difficult that situation, don’t grow weary and don’t be discouraged. Heaven is organizing a speedy intervention and rescue for you.
No matter how long you may have lingered in that problem, it is finally your divine season for rescue and restoration.
As you remain persistent in faith, somehow in ways and means you cannot fathom, God will organize destiny helpers to come and help you out.
Therefore keep your faith ignited through feeding on God’s Word. Also keep blessing the Lord at all times, because as you praise, you will be raised and surely your feet will be set upon the solid rock.

PRAYER: Father, I praise You because I know that You are organizing a speedy rescue and restoration for me even at this moment. By Your grace I shall never be stranded. I am emerging victorious from every tight situation and through Christ I am indeed more than a conqueror in Jesus Name.
