Zechariah‬ ‭4‬:‭6‬ “Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.”

DAILY READING – 2 Thessalonians 3; Isaiah 29-30; Psalm 119:1-32

The first time Archbishop Benson Idahosa raised a dead person, he was probably more astonished that any one else. His spiritual Journey started in the 60s and 70s when he was in The Assemblies of God Church.
One day, at the age of 24, Benson Idahosa heard his pastor say that Christians could raise the dead in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Idahosa walked up to the Pastor and asked if what he said was true.
The pastor replied, ‘yes, I’ve never done it, but if the Bible says it, then it is true.’
Idahosa believed what his pastor said.
Eager to see it happen, he climbed on his bicycle and went through the city of Benin in search of a dead person to raise to life. After about five hours, around 4:30 pm he saw a crowd of people lamenting the death of a three year old girl who had died a few hours before.
Excited, Idahosa walked boldly up to the father of the dead child and asked for permission to pray and raise the child from dead. The man was startled, but he agreed. With great enthusiasm, Idahosa walked to the bed, where the dead child lay, the family members surrounded him curiously. But as he started praying, nothing happened. After a while he became quite frustrated and began considering ways of escaping from the embarrassing situation. But with his remaining faith he called the child’s name and commanded “Arise in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.” And then suddenly, to his greatest surprise, the dead girl sneezed, heavily, and came back to life!
This encounter made Idahosa to become greatly aware of the mighty power of the Holy Spirit. He would later launch into a worldwide ministry of demonstrating the power of God throughout the world.

When Benson Idahosa came to the end of his own wits, the power of the Holy Spirit suddenly caused the dead girl to arise.
Through the anointing of the Holy Spirit, we become empowered by God for extraordinary accomplishments..
The assignment God has called us to can never be accomplished by our own strength. It is only by the power of the Holy Spirit, that we can go beyond our limited human capabilities, achieve miraculous feats and make great global impacts.

When God asked Zerubbabel to build the temple, He said to him ‘This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.’ [Zechariah 4:6-7].

Through the anointing of the Spirit, the apostles went beyond being ordinary men, to become supernatural beings that turned their world ‘upside down’ and made great impacts in their generation.
In this new month of July, we need the divine quickening of the Spirit to launch us into new realms of exploits.
We can’t afford to continue living ordinary mediocre lives, while the greatness destined for us remains dormant and unactivated.
In this 7th month, which signifies perfection, let us trust God to do something new in our lives. As we come into the second half of this year, let us trust God to make a way in the wilderness, and cause rivers to flow in the desert for us. ( Isaiah 43:19).
To position ourselves for a fresh encounter, we need to seek greater intimacy with the Spirit of God in this season. Through renewed appetite for God’s Word, fervent prayers and passionate worship, certainly we will experience an eruption of power that will bring us into the realm of sweat-less triumph, and supernatural breakthroughs!

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to spiritually position myself in this new month for a fresh encounter with Your Spirit. By Your grace I will surely experience the activation of my great destiny in Jesus Name
