For over twenty-eight years, Pritchard Adams and his wife, Dana, faithfully served as missionaries in Haiti, investing their lives in the spread of the Gospel and devotion to God’s purpose. But their faith was severely tested when one morning Pritchard was suddenly struck by an excruciating pain in his head. Within moments, he collapsed. Rushed to the hospital, doctors discovered the devastating truth: a major artery at the base of his skull had ruptured due to a brain aneurysm. Emergency surgery was performed, but Pritchard slipped into a coma. Medical statistics were grim because nearly half of those who suffer such ruptures do not survive.
As word spread, believers across nations began to pray and fast. Against all odds, Pritchard survived. But two days later, tragedy struck again. His heart stopped, and a second artery burst. Doctors now believed survival was impossible.
Standing beside her husband’s hospital bed, Dana refused despair. She engaged in spiritual warfare—rebuking death, declaring life, and calling on the power of God. Heaven responded. Pritchard survived again. After twenty-six days in a coma, he awoke without the brain damage doctors had predicted. After fifty-two days, he walked out of the hospital completely restored. Today, his life remains a living testimony that prayer still works.
When Dana refused to give up and steadfastly prayed for her husband, miracles took place. The truth is that God responds to those who seek Him earnestly. Scripture tells us that Elijah prayed and shut the heavens, then prayed again and reopened them. What altered the seasons was Elijah’s devotion and earnest prayers. When a believer is wholly yielded to God, prayer becomes a channel for releasing tremendous power.
James 5:16 reminds us that heartfelt and persistent prayer makes tremendous power available. It is those who refuse to let go of God—who continue to pray and stand in faith—that experience supernatural breakthroughs.
Miracles and deliverance are the reward of hearts that are fully surrendered and deeply committed to serving God with holy obsession.
Serving God with obsession does not mean fanaticism—it means priority. It means God comes first in time, affection, and attention. This kind of devotion provokes Heaven to respond. When God sees a life fully surrendered, He moves swiftly to intervene, rescue, heal, and restore.
As we engage in this season of prayer, let us approach God with total devotion. When we serve Him with our whole hearts, miracles will no longer be occasional—they will become our normal experience throughout this year.
PRAYER
Lord, by Your grace, please strengthen me to persevere in prayers and seek You earnestly, until Your tremendous power is released over me. Today, let every barrier be broken, and let Your purpose prevail in my life this new year, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
