Luke 9:29-32 ‘And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering. And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias: Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.’

It is interesting how a rejected block of marble became the World’s most famous statue.
In 1464, the cathedral in Florence, Italy , commissioned an artist named Agostino di Duccio to do a sculpture of the Biblical David. He was given an enormous slab of Carrara marble to carve from. But Agostino found the marble challenging to work with and so gave up the project. It was passed on to another artist, who also ended up abandoning the project. After that, the marble block was left outside in the sun and rain and heat and cold for around 40 years.
Eventually 26 year old Michelangelo was invited to work on the sculpture. When he saw that block of marble the two artists had earlier rejected, he saw within it great possibilities. In his mind’s eye he saw the completed sculpture of David and quickly went to work. He had a tent erected around the marble and nobody was allowed to see him at work.
Michelangelo worked on this project between 1501 and 1504 and was able to find a way to turn this unworkable block of marble into a masterpiece. With his unparalleled vision and skill, he created the towering statue famously known as the ‘DAVID’.
From the moment the sculpture was unveiled it captivated the world of art. Today, the ‘DAVID’ is considered the world’s most well-known sculpture and has been in existence for over 500 years. Yet amazingly , this masterpiece was made from an unworkable, rejected piece of marble.
God loves to turn the stones which the builders rejected into the chief corner stone. Men may look at you and see a mess, but when God looks at you, He sees a masterpiece.
Our architect and Master builder is God. Though outwardly sometimes, our lives may seem difficult and challenging, God knows that within us is the potential for glory.
Ephesians 2:10 says that You are God’s workmanship. You are His divine project. As a child of God, you are created to manifest His glory. You are not created to be average.
2 Corinthians 4:7 says your potential is a treasure hidden in an earthen vessel. You are full of amazing possibilities. If you don’t look like it now it is because your life is still under construction and God that has begun a good work in you will surely bring it to perfection.
However, prayer is a necessary process for the manifestation of God’s glory in our lives.
Luke 9:29 says that as
Jesus prayed on the mount of transfiguration, there was a transformation and His glory manifested. Likewise , as we persist in this season of prayers, we are going to experience the revelation of glory that will announce us to the world.
You may be a rejected stone today, but watch out; God is causing you to become a chief cornerstone. Just as they cast away Joseph and he turned around to become the preserver of his generation, God will turn things around dramatically for you. Every place you were once rejected, you are about to be celebrated and your shame will be turned to fame!
PRAYER: Father I thank You for the grace to persevere in prayer in this season. I know that Your glory is manifesting in my life and changing my story from rejection to unending celebrations in Jesus’ name.
