The Welsh Revival remains one of the most remarkable spiritual awakenings in Christian history, and at the center of it stood a young man named Evan Roberts. From his teenage years, Evan carried an uncommon hunger for God.
For more than ten years, he consistently prayed for revival. Many nights were spent reading revival accounts and crying out for God to visit his generation. When he later enrolled in a preparatory school for ministry, his burden only intensified. In 1903, he began waking at 1:00 a.m. daily to pray for several hours, seeking a deeper encounter with the Holy Spirit.
Eventually, Evan returned to his hometown and began hosting prayer gatherings. The meetings grew steadily as waves of intense intercession swept through the crowds. People lingered late into the night, hungry for God’s presence.
Then in November 1904, the Heavens answered. Revival broke out across Wales with deep conviction, mass repentance, transformed communities, and hundreds of thousands turning to Christ. The fire spread beyond Britain as visitors carried the flame to other nations. What began as one man’s secret prayer became a public spiritual awakening that reshaped history.

When men truly call upon God, Heaven responds with mighty signs and wonders.
Jeremiah 33:3 reveals God’s open invitation to every believer: “Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things.”
When we call upon God with yielded and obedient hearts, we become vessels through which His power flows to ignite lives and transform nations..
Just as the fire swept through Wales, God intends to release His light through us in this generation. We are called to shine in a world increasingly covered by darkness. However, light only burns where fire is maintained. A fervent prayer life is the fuel that keeps our spiritual flame alive.
Jesus said no one lights a candle and hides it under a bushel, but places it on a stand to give light to all in the house. Our light is not meant to be hidden — it must shine boldly in this age. In past generations, men and women like Evan Roberts allowed God to use them to ignite flames of revival, drawing multitudes from darkness into God’s Kingdom.
Today, we carry that same responsibility. We must faithfully stand in intercession, partnering with God to overturn evil and release divine intervention in our nations. In this season, as we press deeper into prayers, study of the Word and worship, surely fresh fire from Heaven will cover us and empower us to become true difference-makers and world changers.

PRAYER:
Lord, I am available to be used by You to impact my world positively. Especially in these end times, please ignite my light to so shine before men that many souls may be drawn into Your Kingdom, in Jesus’ Name.
