Deuteronomy 2:24-25 (MSG) “On your feet now. Get started. Cross the Brook Arnon. Look: Here’s Sihon the Amorite king of Heshbon and his land. I’m handing it over to you—it’s all yours. Go ahead, take it. Go to war with him..”

Emmitt James Smith is a devout Christian and football hero, whose excellence in sports has given him a platform to share his faith in Christ.
Emmitt understands that his success is only by the grace of God.
At his induction into the Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, on August 8, 2010, he began his speech with: “Thank you to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for blessing me to play the sport I so dearly love for almost three decades.”
Emmitt’s journey to stardom, was rough but by God’s grace he eventually scaled through to victory.
From his youth, Emmitt had dreamed of playing in the National Football League, but critics said he didn’t have the size or the speed to play in college football. In 1987, he surprised the naysayers by earning a scholarship to the University of Florida where he excelled in football. He went further to prove his doubters wrong by eventually achieving his dream of playing in the National Football League.
As a professional player he had outstanding achievements including leading the Dallas Cowboys to win three Super Bowl championships. He finally silenced his critics by going on to become the National Football League’s all-time leading rusher.
After retiring from football in 2005, Emmitt Smith embarked on an entrepreneurial journey creating several businesses. He again saw God’s faithfulness as all his endeavors became very prosperous. Today, Emmitt Smith continually thanks and praises God for granting him amazing success despite the odds that were against him.
Setbacks or criticisms should never deter or stop your progress in life. God designed and desires that challenges and obstacles spur you forward rather than drag you backward. Today, while the world is facing increasing gross darkness, this is the time for you to arise and shine because of the glory of God. The darkness that covers the earth should serve as the backdrop for your shining. The misfortune of the world will be an opportunity for the saints to gain fortune and excel!
However before you can ‘shine’, you need to first ‘arise’. You need to get up, move forward and begin to explore new frontiers.
In Deuteronomy 2:3, God told the Israelites, ‘Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward,’
In the same chapter He told them to rise up, take up their journey, and pass over the river and begin to contend with the king of Heshbon, and begin to take over his land in battle. (Deuteronomy 2:24)
To possess our inheritance of glory, this season of prayer is our time to contend in battle against every resistance and opposition. This year, God has called you unto glory. Your life is to be dignified, full of splendor and heavenly bliss. However, to see these, you must pay the price of steadfast faith and resilience. Despite the obstacles, keep your focus on God’s Word and keep praising Him and pressing forward. As you do, it’s only a matter of time before you see the manifestation of the promised glory.
PRAYER: Father please enable me to keep pressing forward despite any challenges on my path. I thank You Lord for indeed manifesting glory in my life and doing exceedingly abundantly above all I could ever ask or imagine in Jesus Name.
