Paul Jensen is the author of the book ‘Over the edge; into truth.’
Paul had been born again at a young age, but as he grew older he became spiritually complacent.
When he became a successful businessman with a lucrative career, he no longer bothered going to Church. He filled his life with work, sports, cars, travel, and alcohol. But his spiritual laxity was a concern to his sister and mother, who began to earnestly pray for him.
In April of 2002, Paul’s extended family went for a hike at Joshua Tree park California. While navigating through an area of mountains and boulders, Paul suddenly missed his step! He fell seventy-five feet down a steep mountain and landed headfirst on the rock below. His sister, who first got to his badly twisted body began calling upon the Name of Jesus, over and over again. By all logical reasons Paul Jensen should have been dead. Yet miraculously, after falling from a height which was the equivalent of a four story building, he survived! The rescue team that came to his aid were surprised to find him alive. One of them stated “drop 100 people off that cliff and the 100 people will die.”
It was even more amazing that when Paul was airlifted to the hospital, doctors found he had no broken bones, no fractures and no internal bleeding. He was discharged to go home after only 4 ½ hours in the hospital. This near death experience really shook up Paul and made him to realize that he had been chasing an empty, shallow life without God. Thereafter he rededicated himself to seeking God first and began serving fervently in His kingdom.

If you’re going to reach your highest potential you have to be an on-purpose person. While you may have options of various pursuits in life, always realize that what matters most is seeking God first.
For our lives to be truly meaningful, we must make God the center of it. It is only by His grace that we are sustained and kept participating in the game of life. Spending more time in pursuit of worldly things and less time in pursuit of God is a huge risk.
It is dangerous to keep aspiring to great heights of success, if your spiritual foundation is weak. No matter how beautiful the things you are building, you can suddenly lose everything without warning.
Living in the last days means we are living in highly unusual times, filled with top-level temptations and distractions. It is a time when the devil is using every available means to keep people spiritually cold.
As believers, we must therefore be deliberate to guard our fire. At this time daily fellowship with God is none negotiable, no matter how busy we are.
To avoid becoming spiritually dry and stagnant, we must constantly return to the beautiful brokenness of our first-love encounter with God. Unstoppable breakthroughs and breaking forth on every side comes from acknowledging God as our source of true riches, honor and every good thing.
1 Chronicles 29: 12-13 says ‘Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.’
The more we seek God, the more good things will follow us all the days of our lives.

PRAYER: Father, please grant me the grace to make You priority in all my affairs. Lord, enable me to always live to please You and seek the expansion of Your kingdom first above all else in Jesus Name. .
