Psalm 81:10 ‘I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.’

Oral Roberts is celebrated as one of the most prominent Christian leaders of the 20th century.
However, while growing up, he almost hated being a Christian because in their rural community of Pontotoc County, Oklahoma, poverty was seen as a badge of spirituality. His father who was an evangelist made little effort to lift his family out of poverty because any preacher who lived too comfortably was seen to be doing something wrong.
As a teenager, Oral vehemently despised his family’s lifestyle of scarcity and lack.
And when in later years God called him to ministry, Oral was determined to show through his life that Christians were meant to succeed and prosper.
However, as he started serving as a pastor, he failed to see the great impact and success his heart yearned for.
Desperate to see results, Oral began fasting and praying. He felt led to read through the Gospels and the book of Acts three times in three months as he sought for a breakthrough in his ministry. Due to regular fasting, he lost 40 pounds and went from a size 46 suit to a size 38. Finally one day, he heard the voice of the Lord saying to him: “From this hour you shall have My power to heal the sick and to cast out demons.”
After this divine encounter, Oral stepped out in faith and organized a first citywide healing crusade. He then told the Lord to do three things as confirmation of the word he had received.
Though he pastored a Church of only 175 people, he asked God to bring 1,000 people to the meeting. Secondly he asked that the $160 spent in renting the auditorium be covered by the offering. Thirdly he asked for a dramatic and tangible healing in the service. God answered the three requests.
Over 1200 people showed up for the crusade, the amount of the offering was $163, more than.the auditorium rent and a woman with a gnarled, crippled right hand was healed instantly in the service.
With these confirmations, Oral Roberts then launched out into an itinerant evangelistic and healing ministry, which eventually became a global ministry. He was very successful and his ministry attracted millions of followers worldwide. Indeed his life became a proof to people in his hometown of rural Oklahoma that poverty was not a badge for spirituality.
Every child of God is ordained for global impact and supernatural success. However, life does not give you what you deserve, it only gives you what you demand.
There are wonderful blessings awaiting us in destiny, but we must press in to where they are by praying the price.
As a child of God, you are meant to live an amazing life. You are not at all to live an ordinary or mediocre life.
You are a candidate for a glorious life because God has called us unto glory and virtue.
Therefore, anything that does not look like glory around you has to be dislodged through fervent spiritual warfare.
To arrive at our glorious destiny, we must accept full spiritual responsibility. There are no short cuts to success. We must determine to do what is required to enforce a change of story. And this will require fasting, praying, diligent study of the Word and sowing sacrificial financial seeds into God’s kingdom.
The truth is that you can’t afford to keep watching life pass by without the realization of the success you have long dreamed about.
You can’t keep waiting and wishing, it is time to do something definite to secure a change of season and experience open Heavens.
If Oral Roberts did nothing he might have ended up as another unheard-of-preacher in rural Oklahoma.
When we desperately seek God, He will always show us what to do to rise to our next level. God says when we open our mouths wide, He will fill it.
Therefore, it is time to open our mouths in the place of prayer and praise, as we pour out supplications and thanksgiving to God.
As we do, God will fill our mouth with laughter and our tongue with singing.
Very soon, the Lord will so turn our captivity that we will be like them that dream. [Psalms 126: 1-2]
PRAYER: Lord, Please enable me to pay the necessary spiritual price, so that I can experience Your miracles and wonders in this season. Thank You Lord for establishing in my life a miraculous change of story and totally exceeding my expectations in Jesus Name.
