Psalm 40:2-3 ‘He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God’

DAILY READING • Acts 15:22-41; Judges 1; Job 33

In 2002 Major News outlets reported the miraculous story of Diana Burgess. She was chief flight nurse for Care Flight, a company that transported patients with medical conditions around the world.
In August 2002, Diana was in a Lear jet that was flying a patient to Lexington, Kentucky. Their plane was about to land when the pilot realized the brakes had failed. From that moment, Diana who is a Christian began to witness series of miracles.
Their plane raced across 7,500 foot runway and then plunged 60 feet down a cliff to a busy highway below. Miraculously, that was the very moment when the traffic had been stopped by the red light. So as the plane crossed six lanes of traffic and crashed, no motorists were injured.
Diana who was thrown to the floor, began to smell smoke and knew the plane was on fire. She tried to move but couldn’t, because the force of the crash had ripped her ligaments and tendons. She also had a ruptured artery, a punctured lung and a broken back.
There was no one to open the door because the pilot was unconscious and the co-pilot had suffered a broken back.
It appeared they would all burn in the plane.
But as Diana began to pray, suddenly the unconscious pilot woke up and opened the door enabling motorists who had gathered at the scene to gain access into the burning plane and pull them out.
Another miracle was that they had crashed only three minutes from an emergency medical trauma center.
Rescue teams arrived immediately. Diana was transported to the University of Kentucky Medical Center. But there doctors said she had only a five percent chance of survival, having suffered multiple organ failures. But as members of her Church set up a prayer chain for her, Daina surprised the doctors and pulled through. Next, the doctors said she could not walk again, but Diana eventually regained the use of her legs. Despite the insurmountable odds, with great faith in God, Diana overcame them all.
Today, Diana Burgess, is a motivational speaker, who spreads the word of her miraculous deliverance and God’s unfailing faithfulness.

Truly, God never fails those who trust in Him.
Many of us faced great odds this year, but each time we saw the manifestation of God’s miracles that helped us to pull through.
In many instances, God brought us up from horrible pits, set our feet upon a rock and established our goings [Psalm 40:2-3].

Reflecting on the happenings in our lives in the past 12 months, we can not help but declare that God has been faithful.
Because memory is a catalyst for worship, let us take the time to recall God’s miraculous interventions this year, so as to give Him worthy praise..
Indeed we must be deliberate to count our blessings and not forget the many benefits of the Lord in our lives.
Looking back at all we overcame, it is obvious God’s covenant of exemption has been preserving us.
In every challenge, God has been our ever-present help in time of need. His blessings have prevailed above the attacks of the enemy. There were things the enemy meant for evil but God turned them all around for our good.
Indeed we have seen the power and wonders of God in diverse dimensions this year. And in these last days of the year, we have every cause to be continually thankful and bless the Lord. Truly God has done us well!

PRAYER: Lord, I am overwhelmed by Your faithfulness to me and my family throughout this year. Indeed I am truly grateful for all Your blessings and benefits in my life this year, in Jesus Name.
