In 2022 the International Criminal Court (ICC) reported Afghanistan as one of the worst places in the world to be a Christian. Since the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021, religious and civil liberties have rapidly deteriorated under Taliban rule.

Christians face regular raids on their homes by the Taliban and frequently receive threats against their jobs and families, and lack access to educational opportunities. The Taliban are working to completely erase Christianity from the country.

Many Christians have gone underground to avoid being kidnapped by the Taliban “courts.” Under the Taliban’s strict version of Sharia law, punishment for being a Christian includes public executions. This situation has led many Afghan Christians to flee the country.

Interestingly there were some Christians who had early opportunities to flee but deliberately chose to stay back. They remained in Afghanistan due to their belief that God wants a Church in Afghanistan and has a plan for them to stay on and continue to preach the Gospel regardless of the persecutions.

Truly, the Christian life is that of deadly dedication no matter the cost. Christians who live in persecuted countries understand this best. They draw their examples from the early Church, many of whom willingly laid down their lives for the sake of the Gospel.

The courage and deadly dedication of these Christians should greatly challenge us and make us relentless in our commitment to obey God. While we may not face extreme physical persecutions, yet in our daily lives we are often confronted by spiritual persecutions from the enemy as he tempts and tries to get us to compromise our faith.

Despite the temptation or persecution, we must always remain faithful and continue to choose to please God in every situation. As we do, surely, God will give us double for all our troubles. God is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him.

Therefore as we remain steadfast and unmovable in preaching the Gospel, we can be sure of His abundant blessings overflowing our lives. Indeed whatever the enemy means for evil, God will keep turning it all around to our advantage.

Despite all the attacks of the enemy, the Church of Christ will continue to march forward in victory and the gates of hell shall never prevail against it.

PRAYER: Lord please grant me the grace and strength to live a life that pleases you no matter how difficult it may seem. May I continue to uphold the truth of your Word and stand in faith no matter the oppositions I may face in Jesus Name.

Jack G. Coe was one of the great healing evangelists of the twentieth century. In his days, he had the world’s largest tent and preached on more than 100 radio stations. Many outstanding miracles accompanied his preaching .
However, Jack Coe’s ministry was a result of his willingness to obey God at all costs.
After his salvation, Jack Coe sought God with great passion and zeal. A few years later, he felt called to serve as a minister of the Gospel. He approached a local Church and asked for an opportunity to preach. But rather, the pastor asked him to take up doing menial jobs around the altar. Jack felt insulted and turned and walked away. The Lord prompted him to return and tell the pastor he would be willing to do whatever the pastor needed. The pastor then asked him to work as the janitor. Again he felt insulted and left. But after the Lord spoke to him, Jack once again returned to the church and agreed to become their new janitor. His faithfulness soon paid off. From a janitor he was promoted to Sunday school teacher, then song leader, youth minister, and finally associate pastor. When the senior pastor was transferred to another church, Jack was asked to fill in as the interim pastor. By the time the new pastor arrived, Jack was ready for his own ministry. The experiences he had gained helped him to eventually become one of the pioneers of the Voice of Healing Revival in the 1950’s and he is celebrated today as an outstanding Gospel minister in his generation.

When the zeal of the Lord consumes us, the desire to preach the Gospel will burn like fire in our bones. We will have an undying passion for Christ and commitment to obey Him at all costs.. There will be an inward excitement that pushes us forward to accomplish exploits for God’s Kingdom..(Psalm 69:9).
We live in a day and time where we simply cannot afford not to be on fire for Christ. Gross moral darkness covers the earth and sin abounds everywhere. As sons of God we are to shine like stars in the midst of today’s crooked and perverse generation. When people see the fire of Christ burning through us they will be attracted and want to have what we have.
To keep our fire burning brightly we must stay close to God’s Word. It is the entrance of His Word that gives light.
If we stop putting in the wood of the Word, our fire is bound to go out.
Proverbs 26:20 says ‘Where no wood is, there the fire goes out.’
To always maintain the fire of the Holy Ghost, we must have times set aside for prayer, fasting, worship and study of the Word. Such seasons of personal revival will ensure we are always spiritually fervent and fired up. And as we abide faithful in our area of calling it is only a matter of time before we break forth from obscurity to making global impacts in our generation.

PRAYER: Father, please help me to keep my fire burning brightly despite the spiritual coldness in the world.. Thank You for the grace to make soul-winning my passionate pursuit at all times in Jesus Name.

As a child, Reggie White was raised by his mother to walk in the fear of the Lord. As he grew up, he continued to follow the Lord and ended up with a successful career in sports. He was one of the most dominant defensive linemen in the history of American football. In 1993 White also became the best-paid defensive player in American football history.
Interestingly, during his sports career, Reggie White was never seriously injured. Rather he was a ferocious defensive player who struck terror into opposing teams with his strength, speed, and stamina.
He was called the “Minister of Defense” when he played, largely because he was an ordained Evangelical minister. Standing at 6 feet 5 inches tall, and weighing 300 pounds, White was a force to be reckoned with on the field. But off the field, he was known as a “gentle giant”. He was very outspoken about his faith and preached to everyone he could. He even preached to those he was beating on the field; he was known to warn opposing linemen, “Jesus is coming, I hope you’re ready,” before proceeding to pound through them on his way to the quarterback.
In his time, White spoke regularly at churches and often used post-game interviews as opportunities to proclaim Jesus. He has been credited with the rise of Christianity in the American National Football League. In his life and career, Reggie White constantly sought to represent Christ before men.

As Christians, our primary calling is to be ambassadors of Christ.
Before an ambassador is appointed for any nation, he goes through the highest scrutiny to ensure his character and conduct reflects the core values of his nation.
As ambassadors of Christ, our lives must constantly reflect our Heavenly citizenship.
We should always be conscious that we represent the King of Kings and Lord of lords. By words or by deed, our lives at all times should be proclaiming the Gospel.
Because the spirit of Christ is a missionary spirit, the desire to make the Gospel known to all men should be burning in us.
Not all of us can stand and preach in a church or go to a mission field, but all of us can play a vital role in God’s work by using what talent He has given us to represent His Kingdom.
As gross darkness covers the earth, do not hide your light. Rather be radical for Jesus; proclaim your faith boldly; let your light shine for men to see. However, to live a life of such conviction, we must be deeply impacted by the Holy Spirit.
No one can be an effective witness without the help of the Holy Spirit. His number one mission on earth is soul winning. In Acts 2:41, when the Holy Ghost came on the day of Pentecost, 3,000 people were saved. Again in Acts 4:4, the number of men saved were 5,000. Then in Acts 5:14, multitudes of men and women were added to the church.
Today, as we seek a deeper relationship with the Spirit, we will receive the grace to be effective ambassadors for Christ and greatly impact our world with the Gospel.

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to use every possible available means, including the gifts and talents You have given me to spread Your Word. As I go preaching Your Word, I thank You for overflowing my life with immeasurable blessings in Jesus Name.

Charles H. Spurgeon, was one of England’s best-known preachers in the 19th century. Known as the Prince of Preachers, he preached thousands of sermons over forty years of pastoral ministry.
Spurgeon”s success as a preacher was traceable to the relentless prayers of his mother.
Charles Spurgeon was born on June 19, 1834. From childhood, he often revolted against instructions and struggled against God. Despite his rebellion his mother continually prayed for his salvation.
As a teenager Charles continued in his sinful ways.
A breakthrough finally came when he was about 16 years old. One snowy Sunday morning Charles felt drawn to go to a small Primitive Methodist chapel. As he listened to the simple words of the preacher, he felt deeply convicted and soon surrendered his life to Christ.
Charles Spurgeon was so impacted by his salvation experience that he immediately began preaching the Gospel.
In 1854, just four years after his conversion, at only age 20, he became pastor of London’s famous New Park Street Church. Multitudes flocked to hear his sermons and over the course of his life, he would preach to millions of people. While he received accolades from presidents and princes, he always remained thankful for his mother who stood in the gap and prayed until he was saved.

Prayer indeed changes things. As believers, we have been called to stand as watchmen on the wall and pray until the prodigals are brought into the Kingdom of God.
We do not just get born again and go on a spiritual holiday, there’s work to be done and battles to be fought. The burden for souls should be our heart cry. Jesus our master was travelling from city to city throughout His earthly ministry to ensure people heard the Gospel. The Apostles did likewise passing through many pains and travails to bring the Gospel to many. In generations past great men and women have risked their lives to bring the Gospel to the lost.
Today, in our generation we must maintain the zeal and passion to see souls saved. The heartbeat of God remains the same; souls.
As we intercede for the lost, and refuse to grow weary, we will eventually reap miraculous answers to our prayers. (Galatians 6:9)
Not only shall we see souls saved, we will also receive divine rewards.
God’s blessings will be evident in our health, finances, business, career, families etc.
In this new month, as we obey the great commission let us expect miracles of breaking forth to unprecedented heights. In the place of ashes, we will soon see beauty.
Let us keep giving God all the glory because He is about to change our story.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for the grace to persist in the place of prayer for the salvation of men. Thank You Lord for speedy answers and exceeding my expectations in Jesus Name.

Andrew van der Bijl was born to Christian parents in Holland who endeavored to give him a godly upbringing.
But Andrew had no desire for the things of God as he grew older. Rather he loved adventure and as a young man he joined the resistance army in Holland in the 1940s. While serving as a soldier, he was involved in a massacre of Indonesian villagers. Afterwards, he felt so sorry for the bloodshed that he knew no peace and suffered severe emotional stress. During a battle, he was shot in the knee and this brought his military career to an abrupt end when he was only 20 years old.
He got home to find out his mother had died during the war. But she had left for him her Bible. As he began studying this Bible he found peace and would later surrender his life to Christ. Knowing the peace he found through reading the Bible he became committed to distribute the Bible to as many people as possible. After attending Bible school, he took up the dangerous missionary endeavor of smuggling Bibles into communist countries. This earned him the nickname “God’s Smuggler”.
God protected him throughout the period of these dangerous missions. Brother Andrew’s passion for soul winning led him to found a ministry called ‘Open Doors’. Today, it is an international missions organization that is located in many countries and assists persecuted Christians. Annually, 2 million Bibles are distributed by ‘Open Doors’ and countless souls have come to Christ because of this great ministry.

In Mark 16, Jesus commanded us to go into the world and preach the Gospel to every creature.
As we focus on obeying the great commission and pursue the promotion of God’s kingdom, we will enjoy divine promotions in our own lives. To break forth to greater heights we must become committed to the spread of the Gospel. Certainly, when we do that which pleases God, it compels Him to pour out His blessings upon us.
When Jacob brought to Isaac, his father, the venison that pleased him, Isaac blessed him from the depths of his heart saying;
‘Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine: Let people serve thee, and nations bow down to thee:..’ [Genesis 27:28].

Likewise, doing that which pleases God attracts His heartfelt blessings into our lives. When we are dedicated to the cause of God’s kingdom, our lives will overflow with testimonies of divine health, protection, deliverance, miracles, signs and wonders.
Especially in these perilous last days, the salvation of men should become a burning issue in our hearts. As we work to advance God’s kingdom, He will likewise work to advance our lives. We can’t be truly sold out to God and not stand out on earth.
As we keep winning souls, God promises to establish us as stars that will shine forever. (Daniel 12:3)

PRAYER; Lord, Please enable me to obey the great commission and preach the Gospel with boldness. Please grant me renewed appetite for Your Word, so that I will always burn with the fervency and zeal to spread the Gospel wherever I go in Jesus Name.

April is a month that has great spiritual significance for Christians. It is a month associated with resurrection and new life because most Bible scholars believe that Jesus was crucified on April 3rd, A.D. 33 and resurrected on April 5th, A.D. 33.
The death and resurrection of Christ ushered in a new beginning for His followers. The lives of His disciples were dramatically changed as they received the Holy Ghost and went forth to preach the Gospel with power.
Uneducated fishermen like Peter received divine boldness to defend the Gospel and astounded the Sanhedrin Council of Jerusalem which was the highest Jewish authority at that time.
As the Lord worked with His disciples, the little despised movement of Christianity spread out from a corner of Palestine to dominate the rest of the world. It overran the mighty Roman Empire which was steeped in traditional pagan religions and became the dominant faith of the empire.
Though wave after wave of persecution was unleashed to squash it, Christianity remained indefatigable as it went rapidly like wild fire across the earth.
Indeed the spread of the Christian church in its earliest centuries is one of the most amazing phenomena in all of human history.

Just as the month of April marked new beginnings for Christianity, as we step into this new month today, let us trust God for a change and renewal in our own lives.
On this first day of April, let us tap into the grace of the resurrection season. It doesn’t matter where you may be today, it is time to resurrect from every low state and rise to greater heights of destiny.
It is indeed time to experience new levels in God and conquer new territories for Christ..
At this time, seeking God first has to be our greatest priority because the place of God in our heart will determine our placing upon the earth.
May today indeed mark a new beginning for us in our passion and zeal for the Gospel. Through the power of the Holy Ghost, let fresh fire be ignited in our hearts to carry the Gospel into all the world, starting from our Judea, which is our immediate environment.
The Blessing is in the going. Therefore, let us begin to run with Heaven’s agenda for the hour, which is soul winning. God has a grand plan for us this year, but for it to be accomplished, we have to seek His kingdom first. Certainly, we cannot seek God first and end up last.
By the Blood of Jesus, we receive fresh fire and renewed passion to continually run with God’s agenda to preach the Gospel to the world. It is certainly a new day for us. Therefore let us keep praising God for the grace that is being released upon us to break forth to new heights of glory in this new month.

PRAYER: Father, I thank You for bringing me into this season of renewal and new beginnings. Please grant me the grace to seek You diligently so as to experience a dramatic change of story and greater glory in this new month in Jesus’ Name.

It is archaeologically impossible to know the exact burial site of Jesus. However the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem has become a globally acceptable site, for the crucifixion, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This Church has long been a major pilgrimage center for Christians worldwide.
The Church of the Holy Sepulchre is built over the tomb where Jesus’ body is believed to have been laid. This tomb has been sealed in marble since the 1500s in order to prevent visitors from stealing pieces of the original rock as souvenirs.
Because the Church of the Holy Sepulchre has been destroyed and rebuilt several times over the past 1,700 years, this led to speculations about the condition of the tomb.
In October 2016, for the first time in 500 years the tomb was unsealed. A team of scientists were allowed to conduct conservation work in the tomb and they were given just 60 hours to carry out their research before the tomb would be sealed again for many more centuries.
The preliminary findings of these scientists confirmed that portions of the tomb were still in perfect shape since the last time it was sealed. Most importantly they also confirmed that the tomb is still empty. The fact that the tomb remains empty because Christ has risen is indeed the most exciting news of all.

Every Easter Sunday, Christians celebrate the fact that Jesus is no longer in the tomb. His tomb is empty and He is risen indeed! He is not dead – He is alive and living! Death has been defeated. The debt of sin has been paid for us.
Through Christ we have hope! Through His shed Blood our sins have been forgiven and now we have a purpose for living. That is exciting news! The resurrection of Jesus Christ represents for us a change of position.

Matthew 27:50 – 52 says ‘ And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, and came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many’.

Just as many bodies of the saints arose when Jesus resurrected, today, we have also been resurrected from every grave situation.
As we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, we also declare that we have been raised from every pit of life and made to sit in Heavenly places with Christ.
Where there was death there is now life. Where there was emptiness there is now fullness. Where there was fear there is now faith. Where there was confusion there is now purpose. This is the reason for our celebration today. Yes, Christ is risen, and so have we!!

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You on this Easter day for sending Jesus to die for my sins. Please help me to fully appropriate the benefits that Jesus won for me on the cross. By His resurrection power may everything dead around me come alive today in Jesus Name.

Revelation 1:18 ‘I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death’.

Dana Adams is the author of the book “Into The Storm.’ She served as a missionary alongside her husband Pritchard Adams in Haiti for over 28 years.
In her book, she tells the story of her husband’s miraculous survival from a ruptured brain aneurysm. One morning while they were in Canada an artery at the base of Pritchard’s skull had burst. As he was rushed to the hospital, he slipped into a coma. Doctors didn’t think Pritchard would live, because nearly half of all people who suffer brain aneurysm usually die.
To worsen matters, two days later, he had a cardiac arrest and a second artery exploded in his head. This time doctors were certain he would surely die.
While it seemed his fate was sealed and he would never wake up from the coma, Dana began to invoke the power in the Blood of Jesus. As she waged spiritual warfare against the forces of death, miraculously, Pritchard woke up from coma after 26 days.
After a few more days, he fully recovered, and left the hospital in good condition.
Today, Pritchard lives an active life and his life remains a powerful testimony of the resurrection power of Christ..

Through His death and resurrection, Jesus has given us total victory and liberty in life. Negative situations no longer have the final say over our lives. No matter the medical verdict or financial report that may confront us, we can always arise triumphant through the power in the Blood of Christ.

After Jesus was crucified, He went down to hell to defeat the devil and win complete victory for humanity. Jesus totally devastated the kingdom of darkness and left hell in shambles, triumphing over the devil, and disarming all principalities and powers.
Colossians 2:15 says, “Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it”.
Jesus took the key of death from the devil and defeated death’s terror to hold us down. Through His victory, we now have resurrection power. No matter how terrible any condition, through Christ we can arise from it. Because He lives, we live also.
In Revelation 1:18 Jesus says: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death’.
After Jesus had sealed the devil’s defeat, He arose triumphant from the grave. He then delegated authority to the Church and gave us the power to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy.
As remember Christ’s death and resurrection in this season, let us rejoice because we have been given eternal victory through His Blood. We are truly grateful for what Christ has done for us. Therefore today, let us from the depths of our hearts, bless and praise God for His ultimate love and ultimate power shown to us at Calvary!

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for the price you paid at Calvary to set me free from every yoke and bondage. Please help me to live a life that continually brings glory to You at all times in Jesus Name.

With an agenda to turn Uganda into a Moslem nation, Idi Amin seriously persecuted Christians during his rule in the 1970’s. At a point he banned all but three Christian churches from operating in Uganda.
But Pastor Kefa Sempangi who was the pastor of the Redeemed Church of Uganda, defied Amin’s orders.
On Easter Sunday of 1973, he gathered over 7000 worshippers to celebrate Christ.
After the all-day worship service Pastor Kefa was confronted by men of Idi Amin’s Secret Police. They entered into a room where he was and pointed their rifles at his face and told him they were going to kill him for disobeying Amin’s orders.
The pastor told them his life was hidden in Christ, rather it was their own lives that were in danger; because they were headed for eternal damnation as sinners.
God used the words of the Pastor to penetrate the hardened hearts of these men. Instead of assassinating the pastor, they asked for his prayers .
These men became Christians that day and would later become instrumental in helping to save the lives of many Christians from the terror rule of Idi Amin.

As the redeemed of the Lord, our lives are hidden in Christ. It is no longer us that live but Christ is living His life through us. We are simply an extension of Christ as we live on earth.
Today marks Good Friday, the day Christ died for our sins on the Cross of Calvary. As He gave up the ghost, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom.
The curtain in the temple symbolized the separation between God and man. But through His death, Jesus tore the veil that separated us from God.
With the middle wall of partition broken down, God’s Presence now abides with us.
Our lives are now bound in Christ’s life. We are no longer living as human beings on earth, but living as divine beings in Christ.
As Christ rose from the death, so have we been raised to sit with Him in Heavenly places far above principalities and powers and every force of darkness.
This understanding of our spiritual change of status will give us boldness and confidence against every attack of the enemy.
Whatever comes against us comes against the God in us. Whoever touches us touches the apple of His eyes.
Certainly, what cannot happen to Christ is not permitted to happen to us because in Him we live and move and have our being.(Acts 17:28).

PRAYER
Father, I thank You that through Christ’s death and resurrection, I have received new life and complete victory over every force of wickedness. Thank You Lord for enabling me to walk daily in the full consciousness of my redemption and victory in Jesus’ Name.

On August 7, 1955, an outstanding Chinese Church leader, Wang Ming-Dao and his wife were arrested at gunpoint for their Christian faith.
Wang Ming-Dao was known for his high standards and his resolute dedication to God’s Word. He was named ‘iron man’ for his strong faith. During the Japanese occupation of China, after being threatened many times by the Japanese government for his Christian faith, rather than compromise, Ming-Dao ordered himself a coffin to show he was ready to die for his faith.
After World War II, the Communists gained power in China. They arrested Christian leaders who refused to agree with their policies.
On August 7, 1955, after arresting Wang Ming-Dao and his wife, they sentenced the couple to fifteen years in prison.
Though Wang Ming-Dao was known for his strong stand, under intense pressure in prison, he finally cracked. He compromised his faith and after signing a confession to the government, he was released. But afterwards he was plagued by the guilt that he had betrayed Christ. He likened himself to Peter and Judas and had no peace. Finally, he and his wife agreed to reject their confession to the government. As a result, they were sent back to prison. Mrs. Wang was released in 1973 and Ming-Dao after spending twenty years was released in 1980.
Afterwards, they continued to teach God’s Word and maintained their Christian faith. Wang Ming-Dao left a legacy of being one of the most outspoken Christian leaders of his generation.

On thursday night, during the Last Supper with his disciples, Jesus predicted that Peter would deny Him thrice before the rooster crowed.
But Peter told Jesus “Even if i die with You, I will never deny You.”
Peter meant every word he said. However, after Jesus was arrested, Peter became afraid as he watched Jesus go through rigorous trials.
When Peter was questioned about his association with the Lord, he immediately denied Him three times.
Despite the horrible night of Peter’s failures, the Lord still gave him a new opportunity to do what was right and he went on to accomplish a great ministry.
The truth is that no matter how strong your resolve to live right, the enemy would keep looking for ways to break that resolve.
This is why we must constantly keep strengthening our faith through focus on God’s Word.
Many people started their Christian race with every intention to live wholly for Christ and maintain high standards. Some used to be firebrands and burned brightly with zeal for the Gospel. But over time, as they were confronted with trials and temptations, their fire began to wane and they lowered their standards.
This resurrection season is a good time for every believer to look inward and seek spiritual renewal. No matter how far we may stray, we can always get back to the Cross and be washed by the Blood.
God is full of mercy. When we come to Him in repentance, He is able to forgive us and give us another chance and even turn our mistakes into miracles.
God’s gifts and callings are without repentance, therefore today, let us determine never to give up on the great vision God has ordained for our lives. In this season, as we align with God’s will for us, certainly, it will be our time to break forth to glorious new beginnings and realization of God’s amazing destiny for us.

PRAYER: Lord, I know You have great plans for my life. No matter the trials and temptations or discouragements I may sometimes face, please enable me to always keep pressing forward to the mark of Your high calling for me  in Jesus Name. .
