AUGUST 3: LIVING FOR HIS GLORY

Psalms 89:7 (AMPC)
“A God greatly feared and revered in the council of the holy (angelic) ones and to be feared and worshiped (with awe-inspired reverence and obedience) by all those around Him.”

In April 2014, Pastor Leon Freitag—then a superintendent in the Assemblies of God Church in North Dakota—was given a devastating diagnosis: incurable cancer. The doctors predicted he had only 12 to 18 months to live. Most people would have given in to fear or despair, but Pastor Freitag chose another path. He resolved that whether in sickness or health, his life would showcase the majesty and faithfulness of God.
With unwavering faith he declared that his battle would be a platform to glorify God before his congregation. A second opinion confirmed the grim prognosis, suggesting chemotherapy might at best shrink the tumors by 40%. Surgery was scheduled for August 21, 2014.
But faith was already working behind the scenes. During the pre-op consultation, his wife boldly testified to the medical team: “We are praying people, and we believe that when the surgeon opens my husband up, you’ll find God was already there.” Her words echoed not arrogance, but absolute trust in a miracle-working God.
When the surgery began, the doctors were stunned. The tumors had shriveled by over 80%, and what remained was completely dead tissue. No medical explanation could account for it. The same professionals who once offered no hope now confirmed that Pastor Freitag was completely cancer-free. His healing became a living testimony of God’s power and glory..
After his recovery, Pastor Freitag returned to ministry with renewed fire—using every opportunity to share his story of God’s amazing intervention.

God is calling each of us to live for His glory. When we walk in holy reverence—acknowledging God in all our ways—we invite His power into our challenges. Psalms 89:7 (AMPC) reminds us that God is not to be taken lightly; He is to be reverenced and honored in the assemblies of His people.
A life lived in reverence unlocks supernatural intervention. When we choose to glorify God in the storm rather than complain, His glory shows up to calm the waves. When we honor Him above the opinions of men, He honors us with divine preservation and victory. Miracles manifest where God’s Name is exalted.
In this month, let our daily pursuit be to bring glory to His name. Whether in challenges or triumphs,.let us choose to live for His honor.
When we trust and glorify God we will always be helped. Even where there seems to be no way, God miraculously opens closed doors.
We have a victorious destiny in Christ because He causes us to triumph always (2 Corinthians 2:14).
This is why we should never despair in times of difficulties. Rather, we keep praising God and keep our faith strong by renewing our mind constantly through study of the Scriptures.
Keeping our mind on God’s Word is crucial because that is what causes us to see a lifting up even when others are saying there’s a casting down. In this new month may Faith from God’s Word enable to always see His glory being manifested in our lives and circumstances. As we glorify God, certainly He will keep elevating us to greater heights.

PRAYER:
Father, help me to live a life that reflects Your glory. Teach me to honor You in every season. May my thoughts, words, and actions bring reverence to Your name and inspire awe in others. Use my life as a vessel to showcase Your majesty, in Jesus’ Name.

Wallace Johnson grew up in deep poverty on a farm in Edinburg, Mississippi. By the age of seven, he was already working—picking cotton to earn a single dollar. As he got older, he trained as a carpenter and eventually secured a job at a sawmill selling building supplies. During the Great Depression, that small job meant everything to him and his family.
But one morning, without warning, Wallace was laid off. Panic and confusion gripped his heart. How would he feed his loved ones? Where would the next paycheck come from? Yet instead of sinking into despair, Wallace looked to God.
With quiet courage and unshakable faith, he mortgaged his home and borrowed $250 to start his own construction business. He was 38 and unsure of the future—but he trusted the One who held it. That step of faith opened floodgates of favor. Within a few years, Wallace’s company was thriving. In 1952, he partnered to launch the now-iconic Holiday Inn—one of the largest motel chains in the world.
Wallace never took credit for his success. He declared openly, “I am totally dependent on God for help in everything I do.” He insisted that every hotel room carry an open Bible—to offer guests a lifeline to Christ. He and his wife were deeply rooted in their church and gave generously to God’s work.

When a door is shut against you, don’t retreat in fear and disappointment—trust God to open greater doors of destiny. That unexpected disappointment might be God’s redirection to your breakthrough.
God delights in lifting those who trust Him. You may not have any money or support—but if you have faith, you have more than enough. Faith is the bridge between where you are and where God wants to take you.
This is why you must refuse to accept the enemy’s negative verdicts but rather always trust God.
Times of crisis can be times of opportunities.
What seems like problems can lead to a better phase of life.
The glory of God is the golden key that can open any door locked against you and usher you into new opportunities.
When glory invades your life, tragedies turn to triumphs. As long as your hope is in God, He will help you and never allow you to be ashamed or disgraced (Isaiah 50:7).
Always remember that He is the God of the mountain and the God of the valley. He knows how to use what was meant for your destruction and turn it around for your construction. While the enemy may think he is hindering you, he would only end up being used to promote you.
As we deliberately seek God in this new month of August, it will be our season of divine turnarounds. As Romans 8:28 says, all things will work together for our good, and our song this month shall be from glory to glory.

PRAYER:
Lord, I thank You for bringing me into this new month. I know indeed You have ushered me into a season of divine turnarounds, where I shall experience beauty in the place of ashes and break forth to unprecedented new realms in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

In the early days of his ministry, young Lester Sumrall faced soul-crushing hardship. As a teenage evangelist with no financial backing, he had to take up menial work feeding pigs on a farm—his clothes filthy, his spirit weighed down. One day, broken and discouraged, he fell to the muddy ground in the middle of a pigpen and cried out, “Lord, maybe I should just go home and die!”
But instead of despair, God gave him a word: “Be faithful, and I will give you much greater things.”
Not long after, Lester received a powerful vision: multitudes of lost souls from around the world, walking toward eternal separation from God. The voice of the Lord thundered, “Go preach to them or their blood will be on your hands.” That vision marked him forever—it ignited a fire of service that would drive his life.
Soon after, God led Lester to leave a local revival meeting and travel to a seemingly random campmeeting in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. He obeyed, even when the pastor accused him of being unstable and withheld his honorarium. At that camp, he met Howard Carter, a British missionary. In a moment that can only be described as divine orchestration, Lester blurted out, “I will go with you over the highest mountains, I will go with you over the broad plains, I will go with you through every desert…”
Howard was shocked.. Two years earlier, God had told him that a young man would come and say those exact words. That young man was Lester. This God-ordained meeting birthed a life-changing ministry partnership, much like Paul and Timothy, that would take them across the globe to build churches, teach truth, and win souls—just as God had shown them.

Lester Sumrall’s story is proof that humble beginnings are no obstacle to great destinies when we walk in obedience to divine instructions.
God has placed within each of us an assignment tied to His Kingdom purposes, and He has already arranged strategic encounters and partnerships to help us fulfill it. But it’s our obedience and service that unlock the next level of that divine plan. Often, God will only show you one step at a time—just enough to move forward in faith.
The blessings of Job 36:11 are not for the passive believer, but for those who keep following God and obey and serve Him dedicatedly.
Today as we dedicate ourselves to serve God and humanity, we will surely soar into realms we never thought possible.
In this new month of August we have come into a season loaded with so much possibilities and promises. And through the Blood of Jesus we shall press forward to obtain all God has ordained for us in this new season.
This new month of August is not just another page on the calendar—it is a prophetic launching pad into new dimensions. The word “August” connotes majesty, dignity, and greatness. Therefore as we serve faithfully this month, God will lift us to enviable platforms and unimaginable new heights of glory

PRAYER: Lord, Please grant me the grace to press in to all You have ordained for me in this unique new month. As I diligently seek You, I know I shall connect with divine opportunities and experience inexplicable liftings, breakthroughs and promotions in Jesus Name.

In the bustling streets of Boston during the late 1800s, an evangelist named Samuel Logan Brengle lived with a burning passion for holiness. His devotion to God wasn’t just public—it was deeply personal. Every sermon he preached, every soul he reached, flowed from a life lived for the Lord. But that path wasn’t without pain.
While preaching one night at a Salvation Army meeting, Brengle was violently struck on the head by a drunken man who had been thrown out of the service. The blow from the brick was so severe it nearly took his life and confined him to a hospital bed for eighteen long months. For many, that would have spelled the end. But for Brengle, the fire of God’s calling only grew hotter.
During that long recovery, he began writing articles on the subject closest to his heart—holiness. Those writings eventually became the timeless classic Helps to Holiness, a book that has since transformed lives around the world. Brengle often said, “Had there been no brick, there would have been no book.” Remarkably, that very brick used to stone him was later engraved with Genesis 50:20—a testimony that what was meant for harm, God used for good.

Brengle’s life reminds us that when we walk in the fear and honor of the Lord, even the attacks of men become instruments in God’s hand to amplify His glory.
Samuel Brengle’s story is a clear picture of Isaiah 43:2, which says when you walk through the water, it will not overflow you, and when you go through the fire, it will not burn or consume you.

When you live for God, even the stones thrown at you become building blocks for your next elevation.
The Blood of Jesus is the believer’s eternal guarantee that no matter what harm men intend, God’s purposes will prevail. The enemy may strike with persecution, rejection, or betrayal, but when you honor God in the fire, He will elevate you before men.
Samuel Brengle passed fiery trials and persecutions but came out refined and victorious. This is the same outcome available to anyone who trusts God and honors Him before men.
No affliction, opposition, or insult can cancel God’s plan if you continue to walk in reverence and obedience. What the enemy meant for evil will turn around for your good. The very moments meant to break you will birth what God will use to bless nations through you. Therefore, in this season, refuse to bow to the winds of opposition. Keep walking in reverence of God’s Word. Keep honoring the Lord because your turnaround is coming, and every test will end in your resounding testimonies of glory and victory.

PRAYER:
Lord, please enable me to always stand in faith no matter the oppositions I may face. Thank You, Lord, for always fighting my battles and giving me the victory at last in Jesus’ Name.

Jackie Joyner-Kersee’s journey wasn’t just one of medals and glory—it was a walk of deep reverence for God in the face of impossibility. Long before she was hailed the Greatest Female Athlete of the 20th Century, Jackie knew what it meant to come last. As a young girl, she often finished at the back of the race, but her mother taught her to trust God and never give up.Faith in God and obedience to His Word became her foundation.
When severe asthma hit her in 1983, it could have been the end of her career. Her body weakened, her breathing became shallow, and her future looked uncertain. But Jackie had built her life not on her strength, but on God. And that helped her to overcome her health challenges. Five years later, she defied expectations at the 1988 Olympics, claiming three gold medals while still battling asthma. Her testimony shows that faith in God can strengthen you to scale insurmountable obstacles and do incredible things.

Faith anchored in the fear of the Lord will always carry you farther than sheer talent or effort. The one who fears the Lord does not crumble when trials come, because they have built their house on the rock of His Word. Through Christ’s strength, you can face anything life throws your way—not by trusting in your ability, but by looking up to the Lord for divine help and deliverance.
To be victorious in life, refuse to magnify obstacles—you magnify God. You don’t panic in times of challenges—you pray. You don’t compromise—you conquer. This posture guarantees supernatural strength, wisdom, favor and victory in your battles.
Therefore don’t be shaken by setbacks; instead, stand still and let God fight for you. Turn your worry into worship and watch Him turn your limitations into testimonies.
Today, let your reverence for God fuel your resilience. Feed on His Word and hold on to faith in His promises.
As you do, with every storm, your roots grow deeper. And in the end, your life will become proof that those who trust in God will never be put to shame.

PRAYER: Father I thank You because I am more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus. I receive the grace to persevere in faith until I overcome in every battle and truly breakthrough to the glorious dimensions You have ordained for me in Jesus Name.

Bobby Greenewald’s vision was to use technology to effectively distribute the Bible. And so, in 2006, he developed a website where the Bible was available with a lot of other innovative features. Though it was a good idea, after the first month, people’s response to the website was quite discouraging.
The result didn’t seem worth all the effort, time, and money Bobby and his team had invested. And so, after a year, they decided to shut down the website. Their dream to make God’s Word more accessible through modern technology seemed like it had failed. But just two weeks before shutting it down, a divine nudge came to Bobby that changed everything. He received the idea to put the Bible on mobile phones.
The timing was prophetic because, shortly after, Apple announced the launch of their App Store. When Bobby submitted his Bible App for review, it was approved and went live the very day the App Store launched. Within 72 hours, 83,000 people had downloaded it. That divine idea that came to Bobby became the global YouVersion Bible App that is now installed on over 500 million devices, offering the Word of God in over 1,000 languages. Today, the YouVersion Bible App continues to touch lives across every continent—all because one man chose to honor God and pursue His purpose relentlessly, even when nothing made sense.

Bobby’s story is not just about technology—it’s about honoring God by pressing forward in obedience to divine vision despite challenges or discouragements.
To fulfill your divine call and vision, you must decide to press on when everything tells you to quit. To walk in the fear of the Lord is to treat His calling and purpose on your life as holy. It means pursuing His plans with passion even in seasons of seeming stagnation.
When your heart burns for God, you don’t easily let go of the assignments He lays on your heart. You keep holding fast to His Word even in the face of rejection, and keep obeying Him when the cost is high.
To be successful in our pursuits, we must refuse to easily give up.
You rise from failure with the knowledge that He is too faithful to abandon His work in you. And no matter the odds, you keep pushing forward to fulfill His plans and purpose. Like Apostle Paul, you forget what’s behind and press toward what’s ahead—not in your own strength, but in His.
God is looking for seekers—men and women who refuse to settle for a casual faith. He wants sons and daughters whose hearts chase after Him above all else.
So today, let us renew our dedication to pursuing God’s plan and rekindle our passion for His Presence. Don’t allow failure to stop you. Though you may sometimes come to what looks like dead ends, do not quit. It’s not over until God says so. As we keep pressing forward in pursuit of divine purpose, we will soon experience the invasion of glory and unprecedented breakthroughs in every sphere.

PRAYER:
Lord, please grant me the strength to keep pursuing Your will against all odds. By Your grace, I will never grow weary or discouraged until I reach the glory You have ordained for me this year, in Jesus’ Name.

It was an ordinary Monday morning on August 26, 2002, but God had already gone ahead of time. During their family devotion that day, the Holy Spirit dropped a verse into the heart of Dr. Philip Lyn, pastor of Skyline SIB Church in Malaysia: “I shall not die but live and declare the works of the Lord.” He couldn’t have known how crucial that Word would be in just a few hours.
Later that same day, his 4-year-old daughter suffered a domestic accident when she fell from a stool, got tangled in a clothesline, and was strangled by the rope. When they found her, there was no pulse, no breath, no heartbeat. She was clinically dead.
But even in their panic and pain, the Word from the morning devotion rang loud in their hearts: “I shall not die but live…” Dr. Lyn and his wife clung to that Word like a lifeline. After relentless resuscitation, their daughter gasped and began to breathe—though she slipped into a coma.
The hospital gave no hope, but God did. That night, Dr. Lyn had a prophetic dream—his daughter would awaken and count her fingers. And by morning, that’s exactly what happened. She woke up completely healed, counting her fingers out loud, fulfilling the Word of the Lord. Their household broke out in praise, overwhelmed by the mercy and power of God.

To walk in the fear of the Lord means honoring His Word above circumstances, listening for His voice in every moment, and trusting Him completely even if chaos strikes. Your honor of God shows when you believe Him more than your doctor’s report, more than the facts staring you down.
As you trust in Him, God guides you with precision. He prepares you before battles even begin. Like Dr. Lyn, you may receive a Word long before the trial comes—as you hold it in faith, that Word will become your weapon of deliverance.
Let today remind you that to walk in the fear of God is to walk in the safest path on earth. It invites the Spirit’s promptings, warnings, and rescues you from trials and troubles.
Certainly, as you continue to fear God and reverence His Word, He will work in every situation to ensure that you shall not die, but live to declare His works and glory in the land of the living.

PRAYER
Father, I thank You for the fear of the Lord which anchors my heart to trust You. Today I receive grace to listen when You speak, and to act swiftly on Your Word. By Your grace I shall live to always declare Your mighty works in Jesus’ name!

As pastor David Hogan stepped into the room he was met by the sight of a lifeless child lying still on the bed. Four men stood around him—two witch doctors and two local spiritists. They had tried everything they knew to bring the boy back to life, but couldn’t. Since it was obvious they had failed, Pastor David Hogan who had just arrived stepped up to pray. All he carried was a Bible and deep trust in God.
Few years earlier in 1977, pastor David Hogan had arrived as a missionary to minister to local tribes in the jungles of Mexico. That day he was preaching in one of the villages when a desperate father called him to pray for his dying child. But when they arrived, it was to find the boy was already dead. With the failure of the witch doctors, the father now looked to the preacher to prove the superiority of the Gospel he preached.
As pastor David Hogan looked at the dead child, fear tried to crawl up his spine but instead he began praying in tongues. For nearly an hour he prayed without anything happening. But as he continued to pray boldly, suddenly the boy gasped and sat up. The room erupted in shock. Soon news of this miracle spread around the region and made many to believe in Christ. From there, Hogan’s ministry would spread internationally with many more testimonies of amazing miracles signs and wonders.

Faith doesn’t need favorable conditions. It thrives in the middle of impossibility.
To effectively serve God we need supernatural boldness to keep declaring God’s Word in the face of challenges. On the journey.of destiny we will sometimes be confronted by intimidating situations.
Except the Spirit of God emboldens us, we may be too afraid to confront the giants resisting our progress. We need the Holy Spirit to quicken us to take steps of faith even when it looks like nothing is going to work.
When Joshua was about to go forth with the army of Israel to possess the promised land, God commanded him to meditate on the Word day and night, by so doing he will be strong, courageous, and not be afraid or dismayed.
Likewise to possess our promised land and come into our inheritance we must be filled with faith through constant meditation in the Word.
While fear comes from looking at the impossibilities in the world, faith comes from looking at the possibilities in God’s Word.
Joshua was not told to be courageous because things would be easy, but because God was with him.
Today, you may be standing in front of something that seems impossible. But when you dare to believe God’s Word and act on it, the miraculous will happen.
Certainly as we keep blessing God and keep moving with boldness, surely He will cause us to experience supernatural breakthroughs and new realms of exploits..

PRAYER: Lord, please enable me to meditate constantly on Your Word so that I can be strong and courageous to break forth to higher dimensions this year in Jesus Name. .

James Ryle’s life began with troubles. At six years, his father was imprisoned for armed robbery, and his mother placed him in an orphanage in Dallas, Texas. There, he endured years of emotional and physical abuse. At seventeen, he left the orphanage to fend for himself. Two years later, he was involved in a fatal car crash that killed his friend. James was arrested and charged with negligent homicide and marijuana possession. Facing 20 years in prison, he sat behind bars hopeless—until he cried out to God. He surrendered his life to Christ, and suddenly everything began to shift. His sentence was reduced to just two years. One year in, while praying for early release, he stumbled on a verse in Luke: “Go home to your friends and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you.” One week later, he was miraculously transferred to a pre-release program. That moment marked a turning point. James went on to become a best-selling author, speaker, and one of the founding board members of Promise Keepers, impacting millions around the world. From prison to purpose, God made a way for James and turned around his story.

No matter how low life has taken you, if you’ll honor God and trust Him, He’ll lead you into your “wealthy place.” When the fear of the Lord governs your choices, it positions you for success even in the face of impossible odds. God specializes in taking the broken and lifting them into glory. He is the Master of turning setbacks into setups for greater comebacks.
Today, you may be going through unexpected fires or trials, but God’s covenant promise is that you will not be consumed as long as you walk in obedience
to His Word. Just like James, the day you begin to revere God above all else is the day your turnaround begins.
So no matter how tough things may look now, don’t give up. Rather, make the solid decision to seek God with greater fervency. As you do, He will make ways for you out of the pit to your palace. You may have gone through the fire and water, but God will open the door to your wealthy place. When others say there’s a casting down, you will see a lifting up. When others are breaking down, you will celebrate breakthroughs. If you stay in awe of God and obedient to His Word, He will bring you through that turbulent situation, to a place of abundance, influence, and lasting impact. What had looked like shame in the past will end for you in honor and glory.

PRAYER:
Lord, I thank You for bringing restoration and transformation into my life by the help of Your Spirit. By Your grace, it is my season to arrive at my wealthy place and begin to walk in dominion and unending victory in Jesus’ Name.

Emperor Julian ascended the Roman throne in A.D. 360, at a time when Christianity had begun to gain influence in Roman society. Strangely, though raised a Christian and once active in the Church, Julian grew increasingly opposed to the Christian faith as he immersed himself in pagan philosophy. History would brand him “Julian the Apostate” due to his aggressive resistance to the Church. He banned Christians from holding government positions and rebuilt pagan temples in a bold attempt to revive ancient Roman religion. He even reached out to the Jews, promising to rebuild their destroyed temple in Jerusalem to weaken Christian credibility. But as laborers began the construction, historical records recount that strange balls of fire erupted from the ground, terrifying workers until the project was abandoned. Many saw it as divine intervention—and conversions to Christ followed. That same year, Julian was killed in battle, and his anti-Christian mission ended. What he thought would stop the Church only accelerated its impact. His downfall became a testimony that no man or force can prevail against God’s ordained agenda.

Throughout history the Church has survived and advanced through various persecutions. Likewise every child of God is marked for advancement despite oppositions. As the Church of Christ rises in global relevance, know that your life is wrapped in that same divine purpose. We are in the days prophesied by Isaiah where the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be exalted above all. Yes, darkness may be increasing in the world, but it will never extinguish your light. There may be opposition to your rise in business, ministry, or purpose, but none will prevail against you. Trials are not signs of defeat; they are signals that you are approaching promotion. Remember, when God is with a man, resistance only becomes the platform for elevation. The key is to keep walking in reverence for the Lord. When your ways please Him, He takes over your battles. Like the fire that halted Julian’s rebellion, God will frustrate the plans of those who plot against you. Do not be afraid of who rises against you. Stay rooted in the fear of the Lord. Praise Him with confidence, knowing that divine backing makes your advancement unstoppable. With God on your side, you will rise to dimensions beyond opposition and soar to realms of undeniable glory.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for strengthening me to always walk in the fear and reverence of Your Name. I know You are in perfect control of my life. Surely, whatever I may face today, You are able to fight for me and give me the total victory in Jesus Name.. .
