In April 2014, Pastor Leon Freitag—then a superintendent in the Assemblies of God Church in North Dakota—was given a devastating diagnosis: incurable cancer. The doctors predicted he had only 12 to 18 months to live. Most people would have given in to fear or despair, but Pastor Freitag chose another path. He resolved that whether in sickness or health, his life would showcase the majesty and faithfulness of God.
With unwavering faith he declared that his battle would be a platform to glorify God before his congregation. A second opinion confirmed the grim prognosis, suggesting chemotherapy might at best shrink the tumors by 40%. Surgery was scheduled for August 21, 2014.
But faith was already working behind the scenes. During the pre-op consultation, his wife boldly testified to the medical team: “We are praying people, and we believe that when the surgeon opens my husband up, you’ll find God was already there.” Her words echoed not arrogance, but absolute trust in a miracle-working God.
When the surgery began, the doctors were stunned. The tumors had shriveled by over 80%, and what remained was completely dead tissue. No medical explanation could account for it. The same professionals who once offered no hope now confirmed that Pastor Freitag was completely cancer-free. His healing became a living testimony of God’s power and glory..
After his recovery, Pastor Freitag returned to ministry with renewed fire—using every opportunity to share his story of God’s amazing intervention.
God is calling each of us to live for His glory. When we walk in holy reverence—acknowledging God in all our ways—we invite His power into our challenges. Psalms 89:7 (AMPC) reminds us that God is not to be taken lightly; He is to be reverenced and honored in the assemblies of His people.
A life lived in reverence unlocks supernatural intervention. When we choose to glorify God in the storm rather than complain, His glory shows up to calm the waves. When we honor Him above the opinions of men, He honors us with divine preservation and victory. Miracles manifest where God’s Name is exalted.
In this month, let our daily pursuit be to bring glory to His name. Whether in challenges or triumphs,.let us choose to live for His honor.
When we trust and glorify God we will always be helped. Even where there seems to be no way, God miraculously opens closed doors.
We have a victorious destiny in Christ because He causes us to triumph always (2 Corinthians 2:14).
This is why we should never despair in times of difficulties. Rather, we keep praising God and keep our faith strong by renewing our mind constantly through study of the Scriptures.
Keeping our mind on God’s Word is crucial because that is what causes us to see a lifting up even when others are saying there’s a casting down. In this new month may Faith from God’s Word enable to always see His glory being manifested in our lives and circumstances. As we glorify God, certainly He will keep elevating us to greater heights.
PRAYER:
Father, help me to live a life that reflects Your glory. Teach me to honor You in every season. May my thoughts, words, and actions bring reverence to Your name and inspire awe in others. Use my life as a vessel to showcase Your majesty, in Jesus’ Name.
