The book ‘Life Without Limits’ is the amazing story of Pastor Nick Vujicic. He was born without arms or legs, but today is an international successful inspirational speaker and founding president and CEO of the non-profit organization Life Without Limbs.
Nick who was born to a Pastor said, while growing up, the most important thing in his life was to understand why God made him without arms and legs. He said he spent eight years asking God, “Why? Why was I born this way? I don’t understand. How can You say You love me when You allow me to stay in this pain? Nick finally got the answer to his desperate prayers from John 9:1-3, where Jesus speaking of the man who was blind said he was born that way so that the works of God might be displayed in him. Nick said God spoke to his heart through that Scripture, and he was assured that God indeed had a plan for creating him that way. That plan is evident as Nick has become a great inspiration to people all over the world. He is a staring and stark challenge to us to trust God to do the impossible in our lives.
Through people like Nick, God is speaking to us, challenging us to get up and get going. If God can do so much with a man without limbs how much more those of us who have limbs. What excuse would anyone with arms and legs give for not trusting God for greater things?
Of a truth God has used the base things of this world to confound the wise.
There is a song we sing at Christmas time, feliz navidad, it is always one of the most played Christmas songs on radio, but do you know that the writer of that song, Jose Feliciano was blind? Blind at birth from congenital glaucoma, as a poor kid, growing up in a poor neighborhood people around him suggested he get a plate and begin to beg like other blind people do, but he refused. Though blind, he knew God could still do great things in his life. He found an old guitar and began to practice with it, he taught himself how to play the guitar, and from a blind kid with no future, he rose to become known today as one of the greatest guitarists of all times with 6 Grammys and 72 albums to his name.
God uses the base things of this world to confound the wise. What God is doing through people like Nick and Feliciano is an indication that there is no situation He cannot turn around. Indeed, with Him nothing shall be impossible. God loves to re-write a man’s story, to the extent that men will testify that it could only be the finger of God. He wants them to know that indeed, He is the God in Heaven who rules in the affairs of men.
God wants to use you to confound your world. What men think is impossible in your life, is exactly what God is set to do so that the world will marvel. Don’t limit God; don’t think that situation facing you cannot be reversed. In fact, the more difficult the situation, the more God loves to show up.
It doesn’t matter how depressing your circumstances may be, don’t be discouraged, there is hope for you. It doesn’t matter what may be battling against you or what you are battling against; don’t give up hope yet, don’t conclude yet, because it is not over until God says so.
God loves to write you in when men write you off. This shows us that we can do anything if we are determined enough to trust God and rely on Him to help us. So understand that there is no height of greatness God cannot take you to, when you trust in Him.
PRAYER: Lord, help me by faith to see that indeed with You nothing is impossible. I therefore present to You the troubling issues of my life today, knowing You are able to handle them and turn them into a testimony for me, in Jesus’ name.
