2 Chronicles 20:15 ‘Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.”.
DAILY READING; • Galatians 4, Lamentations 3, Psalm 146.
In the 18th century there was a global conflict that involved most of the prominent European nations and was fought primarily in Europe, the Americas, and Asia-Pacific.
Before this war began, the nations of Europe had formed fairly stable alliances that created a balance of power. However, problems between the nations of England and France, unbalanced these alliances. After diplomatic relationship failed between England and France, these two countries decided to go to war. These war also extended to their
allies thereby making it to become a global conflict. At the beginning of the battles, Britain suffered several defeats By 1756 it seemed Britain was set to be totally crushed in the war. After so many defeats, most of its military men were low in morale and seemed about to quit the warfront..
At a point when it appeared Britain was overwhelmed and about to be invaded by the French army, the British government became desperate. Having come to their wit’s end, they needed a divine solution.
The king of Britain called the people to gather for a day of prayer and seeking God’s intervention.
On that day many people went to the Churches to call upon God to help them.
The result of this national prayer was that the tide of the war suddenly turned to favor Britain. What had looked like eminent humiliation for was turned into national rejoicing as they gradually gained upper hand in the war. Soon the British army drove back France and its allies and was able to recapture half of the territories that they had earlier lost in the battles.
Whenever it seems we are faced with formidable battles, we can reposition ourselves for victory by handing over the battles to God. This we do by setting aside time to seek God’s divine intervention.
Surely, the battles of life are not ours but the Lord’s. (2 Chronicles 20:15).
Certainly, the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.
When we fight through God’s help, our victory is certain.
In 1 Samuel 17:44-45 Goliath was threatening David with his great strength, mighty sword and spear. But David who understood spiritual warfare said to him ‘Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel…’
When David turned the battle over to God, God arose and defeated Goliath.
Likewise, we must learn to let God fight for us. Our wrestle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual wickedness in high places, and it is only through God’s power that they can be defeated.
In our quest for greater open doors, we will sometimes face formidable situations that may seem greater than our capacity to handle.
We have to understand that to see victory we have to first deal with these situation spiritually.
When we engage the weapon of the Blood of Jesus, we are guaranteed to triumph always.
Surely by the Blood of the lamb and the Word of our testimony we shall overcome every adversary that tries to contest our open doors in this new month.
It is our season to experience divine “August” visitations.
God who inhabits the praises of His people, shall be visiting us to take us to our high places as we offer Him high praises.
As we invite God into our battles we shall certainly enjoy sweat-less triumphs and unending breakthroughs.
PRAYER: Lord, Thank You for the grace to always hand over my battles to you. In this new month, I thank You for empowering me and repositioning me for constant victory over every adversary in Jesus Name.
