2 Corinthians 10:4 “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;”

DAILY READING; John 2; 1 Chronicles 10-11; Zechariah1

The story of the Pilgrims is a central theme in the founding of the United States of America.

The Pilgrims were a group of Christians who fled religious persecution in England to found a new settlement in the Americas where they could have freedom of worship.
In 1620, the Pilgrims boarded a ship, named ‘the Mayflower’ to seek for a new home in a newly discovered region known then as the ‘New World’..

They arrived in North America where they established the Plymouth Colony in what is today Plymouth, Massachusetts.

The first governor of this colony was William Bradford who kept a journal of their journey and history.
His journal records that when the Pilgrims initially arrived in Plymouth, they had to contend with the native Indians already living there.

For about 4 months these Indians made no contact with the Pilgrims, rather they hid in the surrounding forests, stealthily watching the new settlers. However, the Pilgrims knew they were being observed.

Eventually, one day, an Indian tribe showed up at the Colony and handed the Pilgrims a snakeskin bag full of arrows. It was their way of announcing war!
In response the Pilgrims sent back to the Indians a bagful of bullets. It was their own way of saying they were ready for the battle and had superior weapons of warfare.
In preparations for the expected war, as quickly as possible, the pilgrims built a huge wall of logs around the village of Plymouth for protection. They locked the gate at night, and left men on guard. However, though they expected trouble, none arrived. They did not hear from these Indians again.
Obviously when the Indians had received the bag of bullets, they realized their arrows would be no match for bullets in a war with the pilgrims. And so wisely they had withdrawn their plans of war.

Few months later, in March 1621, the Pilgrims were visited by emissaries from Massasoit, the most powerful local Indian chief in the region. He wanted peaceful coexistence with the Pilgrims. This resulted in a treaty and a relationship of mutual respect that greatly benefited both groups.

Indeed if the enemy sends you a bag of arrows, you need to send him a bag of bullets.
The only language the enemy understands is the language of power. When you resist him in faith, he will flee. The moment be sees you have superior power, he will bow out.
In the Bible, there are various mentions of the arrows of the wicked.
But the arrows of the wicked are no match for the superior fire power of the Holy Ghost.
God has fully equipped us for battle. We have what it takes to defeat the enemy. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.

As believers, we have divine insurance through the assurance of God’s Word. However it is lack of knowledge that cause people to become cheap victims.

No matter how sophisticated and superior the weapon available to you, if you lack knowledge of how to use it , then it will be of no benefit to you.
God has given us superior weapons of warfare, that can easily devastate the camp of the enemy.
The most powerful weapon of them all is the weapon of the Blood of Jesus. When the Blood was applied in Egypt, 430 years of bondage was destroyed overnight.
The Blood of Jesus is able to destroy any arrow of the wicked sent against you in the form of sickness, poverty, family crisis etc. When you begin to engage the power in the Blood, every hold of evil afflictions will be destroyed.
The truth is that there is no weapon formed against you that should prosper. God has given us strong divine defense, but we need Scriptural knowledge to know how to appropriate it. Many of the challenges that confront you are things that can be easily handled if only you know how to apply your spiritual weapons. Therefore today, make up your mind to go for knowledge. As you earnestly begin to seek knowledge through diligent study of Scriptures, God will begin to reveal to you the ways to win your battles and devastate every arrow of the wicked sent against you in Jesus Name.

PRAYER: Father, I thank You for the superior weapon of the Blood of Jesus. Please enable me to build up my faith so as to continually live in the consciousness of my victory over every of life’s battles. Indeed, I am a certified winner over every challenge in Jesus Name.
