Concerns about global warming and a coming apocalypse have prompted some of the richest people on earth to start making plans to escape to other planets. In recent years, scientists have raised alarms over extreme weather conditions and how the earth is rapidly heading toward the worst catastrophe in human history.

With increasing technological advances, there are ongoing plans to make Mars habitable for humans. Though water on Mars is scarce, scientists say it is possible to grow food, produce breathable air, and harvest energy from solar panels. Space travel companies, such as Elon Musk’s SpaceX, are working toward establishing a human presence on Mars. Their vision is that by 2040 there will be a thriving Martian colony.

But the bottom line is this: only the wealthy will have the means to relocate to Mars. Those unable to afford the expensive escape will remain on earth to face any coming apocalypse.

As believers, our hope in these last days is not escaping to another planet, but finding refuge in Christ Jesus. “The name of the Lord is our strong tower that we run into and are safe” (Proverbs 18:10). Just as Noah built an ark of safety from the flood, Jesus is the Ark that delivers men from the wrath to come. We secure our place in that Ark through spiritual investment—studying the Word, praying, fasting, worshipping, and fellowshipping with the Spirit.
Such spiritual practices draw us closer to God and help us develop deeper intimacy with Him. This guarantees the flow of His blessings into our lives. A strong relationship with God empowers us to live in dominion and victory, occupying until Jesus comes. We are not called to defeat or mediocrity, for Christ is returning for a glorious Church without spot or wrinkle.
The last days are our season to live in holiness, break forth on every side, and flourish despite the hard times. While gross darkness covers the earth, God’s glory will cover us. We will flourish and not perish!

PRAYER:
Lord, grant me the grace to persevere in prayer and to continually seek You with all my heart, so I may be empowered to do exploits and manifest Your glory in these last days, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
