The Seven Years’ War (1756–1763) was a major global conflict involving most of the powerful nations of Europe, especially Britain and France. It was fought across Europe, North America, and parts of Asia. In the early stages of the war, things went badly for Britain. France was winning key battles and seemed ready to launch a full invasion of British territory. The situation was so serious that the British king called for a national day of fasting and prayer. Across the country, people stopped their daily routines, went to churches, and cried out to God for help. They humbled themselves and sought divine intervention. The result was dramatic. The tide of the war turned. Britain began to win important victories, and the feared French invasion was stopped. Eventually, France was forced to give up much of the land it had captured. What looked like sure defeat turned into celebration and victory for Britain.

In 2 Chronicles 20. Judah, faced a terrifying coalition of enemies and it seemed their defeat was eminent. However, King Jehoshaphat decided to seek God’s help and proclaimed a national day of fasting. As a result
God arose and miraculously fought for them causing their enemies to destroy themselves and leave behind a great spoil that took three days to gather.
When it seems we are faced with formidable battles, we can reposition ourselves for victory by handing over the battles to God. This we do by setting aside time to pray and seek God’s help.
Surely, the battles of life are not ours but the Lord’s.
As believers, the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.
When we fight through God’s help, our victory is certain.
In 1 Samuel 17:44-45 Goliath was threatening David with his great strength, mighty sword and spear. But David who understood spiritual warfare said to him ‘Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the Name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel…’
When David turned the battle over to God, indeed God arose and defeated Goliath.
Likewise, today as we engage God in our battles, everything resisting the manifestations of glory in our lives will be defeated. By God’s grace we will begin to enjoy inexplicable favor and speedy acceleration to the glorious heights ordained for us this year.

PRAYER: Lord, Thank You for the grace to always hand over my battles to you. I thank You for empowering me and repositioning me for constant victory over every challenge in Jesus Name.
