The book ‘Miracle At Sea” contains the miraculous rescue story of over 120 American missionaries and their families.
During the second world war, on 20th March 1941 a ship named the Zamzam set sail for Africa. On board were missionary families including Lillian Danielson and her six little children who were going to meet her missionary husband in Africa. After a month at sea, just four days before reaching their destination, Lillian felt the divine prompting to repair her children’s torn lifejackets.
By the next day, on April 17, 1941, at 6 a.m. a German warship shelled their ship mistaking it for an enemy ship.
As their ship began to sink, the captain of the ship radioed for help and a rescue ship came. The passengers had to enter into lifeboats to take them to the rescue ship. But when Lillian and her children boarded a lifeboat, it deflated, throwing them into the sea.
The children would all have drowned if not for the lifejackets their mother had repaired the day before! As they floated in the water Lillian led her children in singing songs of praise and adoration to Christ for saving them.
The other missionaries joined in the singing. At that very time, a brilliant rainbow came up in the sky. This was to them a sign that God was in control. Miraculously all the missionaries were rescued and eventually safely arrived at their destination.
Storms of life can come suddenly and lightning can often strike out unexpectedly from a darkness that was once a clear blue sky. But there is no reason to fear, when you are a child of God. Understand that God knows the answer to the problem long before the problem arrived. If you are sensitive to the Spirit, He would have guided you and prepared you to weather whatever comes your way.
If we come to places of despair and desperation, where it seems we are about to sink, those are the times to switch to praise. Because we know our God never fails, He is our ever present help in every time of need and will always come through for us.
As a child of the King, victory is already yours. Just stay in praise and keep blessing the Lord at all times.
Blessing the Lord at all times was David’s secret of continual victory. ( Psalm 34:1).
This was what made him as a teenager to kill a giant with a slingshot and a single pebble. It also took him from keeping sheep to kingship. Likewise today, as we stay committed to praising and blessing the Lord at all times, certainly God will cause every goliath to fall before us. Every evil agenda will be nullified and the storms will turn around to serve divine purpose in our lives. By God’s grace we will be divinely rescued from every trouble and ascend the throne and new heights of glory preordained for us in this season.
PRAYER: Lord, I praise You despite any storms around me because I know You will always come through for me. Please enable me to diligently study Your Word so that I can stay strong in faith and keep giving You all the glory in Jesus Name
