Psalms 27:5-6 “For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion… And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.”

One day in April 2014, 10-year-old Willie Myrick came out to his front yard in Atlanta, and saw money on the ground. Curios, he bent over to pick up the money, but he did not know it was a trap. Suddenly from nowhere, a man grabbed him, threw him into a car, locked the door and zoomed off. It was then Willie realized that he had been kidnapped. As he tried to scream, the man warned him not to make a single sound. Willie then resorted to praise. He began to sing the popular song by Hezekiah walker ‘Every praise.” As Willie sang, the kidnapper started cursing and yelling at him to shut up. But the little boy refused, he continued singing. Willie sang the song repeatedly for about three hours, until the man got sick of hearing it. Finally he came down, flung open the door, threw Willie out of his car, and drove off. Willie then ran to a nearby home and asked for help. His family was located and he was able to go back home. When the News media reported the story, it caught the attention of Grammy Award-winning Gospel singer Hezekiah Walker. He flew from New York City to Atlanta to personally meet Willie. He honored the little boy by specially performing “Every Praise” in Willie’s home Church.

Anytime you feel trapped or outnumbered, fight your battles with praise. In the face of negative circumstances, start glorifying God and declaring Him mighty. As you do so, God is going to surround whatever is surrounding you. He is going to destroy every bondage and deliver you from every captivity.
The ‘sacrifice of praise’ means deliberately refusing to acknowledge whatever the devil may be doing and exalting God for who He is and what He is able to do.
That kind of praise gets Heaven’s attention and attracts the prison-breaking, earth-quaking power of God. It was this kind of praise that delivered Paul and Silas. As they sang praises to God with loud voices, their chains fell off and the prison doors flung open.
You can praise your way out of any tight corner. You can wear down the enemy with your continual declaration of God’s faithfulness. The truth is that the enemy cannot stand your praise. When he thinks he has you trapped, keep praising God, and sooner or later he is going to have to let go. If you are being confronted by the enemies of affliction, sickness, poverty or evil attacks, and the problem continues to linger then switch to praise. In Psalms 27:5-6 God promises to deliver us in the times of trouble and it takes praise to bring His Presence into our battles. Surely today, as we give God worthy praise, every enemy shall be overcome and our battlefields will turn into our blessing fields.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to continually Praise You, despite any challenge I may face today. As Your Presence becomes my habitation, surely, my victory is guaranteed over every enemy of my glorious destiny in Jesus Name.
