One of the most notorious plane crashes in history occurred on December 29, 1972. In that festive Christmas season, Eastern Air Lines Flight 401 was flying a load of holiday passengers from New York to Miami City.
As the huge aircraft approached the Miami Airport, a light that usually indicates proper deployment of the landing gear failed to come on. The pilot was worried, not knowing if the light bulb was simply defective or if it was actually indicating that the landing gear had not deployed. He put the plane on autopilot to fly in circles over a swampy area while the flight engineer tried to change the malfunctioning light bulb. When the bulb proved difficult to dislodge from its socket, other people in the cockpit tried to assist.
Eventually, all the cockpit crew became preoccupied with the burnt-out landing gear indicator light.
With the distraction, no one noticed when the autopilot disconnected, and the aircraft gradually began losing altitude. Finally, the plane dropped and crashed, killing 101 people, including the pilots, the flight engineer, and two flight attendants. 75 passengers and crew survived. The crash occurred while experienced, high-priced, seasoned pilots lost focus of the plane and became distracted by a seventy-five-cent light bulb.

Similarly, on the flight of destiny, distractions can be deadly. Loss of focus has led to the crash of many potentially great missions and visions. The truth is that you can’t achieve great things if you remain distracted by small things.
Therefore, in trying to reach our glorious destination, we must refuse to allow our attention to be diverted from our main goal.
Distractions are side attractions that try to shift your attention from your purpose.
In this present age, the enemy is bringing up all kinds of distractions to shift men from their divine call and mission. Mass distraction has hit the world in these end times and is knocking many people off course as they spend precious hours on what doesn’t matter.
To run destiny’s race effectively, we must keep our eyes on Jesus, irrespective of the happenings around us. Keep looking up and stay focused on your destination.
On this journey, if you look down, you will see discouragement and disappointment; if you look back, you will see regrets and mistakes; if you look around, you will see distractions; but if you look up, you will see victory and triumph. Let us therefore keep looking up to Jesus via His word, fervent prayers, and praise. By focusing on God’s call and ignoring the noise of distractions, we will accomplish great things. It is indeed our time to break forth to greater levels of divine health, wealth, progress, peace, joy and all round blessings.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for enabling me to always maintain the right focus. Please help me to make Your plan and purpose always top priority in my life in Jesus Name. .
