1 Corinthians 6:20 “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
DAILY READING – Luke 22, Genesis 32, Psalm 27
Franciszek Gajowniczek was a Polish army sergeant whose life was spared when a Franciscan monk took his place in death.
Franciszek Gajowniczek, was born in Poland. By 1921, he had married, and had two sons. He was serving as a professional soldier in the Polish army when he was captured during the 1939 invasion of Poland by Nazi Germany. The Nazis sentenced him to forced labour at the infamous concentration camp of Auschwitz.
In May 1941, when a prisoner escaped, the prison commandant ordered that ten other prisoners must die as punishment for the prison break. The prisoners were to die by starvation in a dungeon at Auschwitz called the “hunger bunker,”.
Gajowniczek was one of those selected by the Nazis to die, but he pleaded for his life to be spared because he had a wife and children.
When a Monk named Rev. Maksymilian Kolbe who was also a prisoner heard his cry, the priest asked to be allowed to die in his place The prison commandant agreed to the switch.
And so the priest was sent to the underground cell to die, while Gajowniczek’s life was spared.
After five years in prison, Gajowniczek Franciszek was freed when the Allied forces defeated the Nazis. He would later live to be 93 years old and for the rest of his life he publicized the priest’s heroic act of sacrifice and love that had saved him.
While it may seem such a difficult thing to do, there has been other records in history of people who chose to die for someone else whom they perceived to be good and deserving to be alive.
But Christ’s sacrifice is amazing and unprecedented because He chose to die for a people completely unworthy and totally undeserving of His life.
The drama at Calvary is the greatest love story ever told. The cross is the symbol of the deepest love and greatest sacrifice ever made in human history.
Mankind didn’t deserve redemption or salvation, yet on Golgotha’s hill, the Lamb of God took our place and was slain to save us from eternal death and hell.
Christ’s death on the cross is God’s statement of love to the world.
Because of Christ’s sacrifice, we have been freed from the bondage of sin and ushered into a new life of righteousness.
Christ saved us so that we can we live in dominion and power as sons of God upon the earth.
Living a life of weakness, limitations and mediocrity does not reflect the great price of Christ’s Blood paid for our souls. We have a responsibility to live in ways that daily glorifies God.
We are not born again to suffer again, rather we are redeemed to natural live in the supernatural.Through redemption we have access to divine wisdom that ensures we stand out in our field of endeavor.
Today, through the power in the Blood, let us come against any thing that tries to still keep us in low mentality, foolishness or any form of affliction. Because the son of God has set us free, we are truly free indeed.
PRAYER; Lord I thank You for the price You paid at the cross for my deliverance and salvation. Please grant me the grace to live a life that glorifies You, even as I continually share the good news of redemption with everyone that comes my way in Jesus Name.
