Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee'”

DAILY READING; Colossians 2:20-3:17; Ezekiel 29-30; Isaiah 55

The Gideons have been placing copies of the Bible in hotels, hospitals, shelters, and prisons for well over a century.
The story of the Gideons began when two business men, John H. Nicholson and Samuel E. Hill met at a hotel in 1898. These two businessmen knew the temptations of being far away from their home and so struck up a conversation about how to create an Association for Christian traveling men.
Through prayer they felt inspired by the story of Gideon in the Bible. Consequently, they adopted the name of Gideons for their organization.
They eventually embarked on a project of leaving copies of the Bible at various establishments so that people everywhere could have easy access to God’s Word.
However, the Project was so large that they found themselves ill-equipped to carry it out.
A great door was opened to them when the Ministerial Union of Iowa voted to help fund their efforts. This enabled them to begin extensively placing Bibles in hotels. From there the ministry began to grow and today, the Gideons have taken more than 2 billion Bibles in more than 95 languages to 200 countries across the globe.
The copes of the Gideon’s Bibles placed in hotel rooms and other public places have recorded amazing testimonies of sinners saved and delivered as they encountered the Word of God.

Though the two businessmen appeared insignificant in number and lacked necessary resources to accomplish their dream, God multiplied their little efforts beyond their wildest imagination.
In Judges 7 God appointed Gideon to lead the Israeli army against the Midianites.
But Gideon felt grossly unqualified for the assignment; he came from the poorest family in their town and was the least one in his father’s house, he had no resources and no influence.
He was afraid and hiding in the wine press, when the angel came to him and said “Mighty hero, the Lord is with you”.
Gideon didn’t feel at all like a hero. When he eventually decided to obey God and lead men to fight the Midianites, to be sure of victory, he rounded up 32000 men to go with him.
But God told him that number of men was too much because they would think they won the battle by their own strength.
Gideon had to reduce the men to only 300.
But with God on their side, these little army defeated the mighty Midianites. Overnight Gideon became a mighty hero. Gideon is now listed in Hebrews 11 as one of the heroes of faith.
Truly, God can use the weak to confound the strong.. He can use insignificant vessels
to accomplish the greatest assignments.
Therefore do not be discouraged if you feel unqualified compared to what you are called to accomplish. You don’t need 32000 men to defeat the Midianites of your destiny. Just ensure that God is on your side. You and God are a majority. Despite the oppositions, God is able to go before you to break the gates of brass and cut the bars of iron asunder. He is able to open before you the two-leaved gates and give you the hidden riches of secret places.(Isaiah 45).
If you are feeling intimidated by the magnitude of the odds against you, listen to what Moses told Joshua when he was about to conquer new territories ‘And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.”[Deuteronomy 31:8 ]
Truly, with God on your side you can do the incredible and achieve the impossible.

PRAYER. Father I thank You for working in my life to bring to pass the glorious vision You have put in my heart. By Your grace I shall soon see the manifestation of the glory You have ordained for me in this season in Jesus Name.
