Psalms 91:2-3 ‘I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.’

Brian Welch was a founding member of the famous metal music band, Korn.
While their band was very successful and played to sold-out stadiums, behind the scenes, Brian’s life had eroded into a nightmare as he had become a slave to drugs. He was using drugs every day just to function and couldn’t get out of bed without it.
Brian knew no way out of his hell, so he emailed a trusted Christian friend with a cry for help. His friend replied with the Scripture “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28 NIV). These words comforted Brian and he got a glimpse of hope.
On Sunday morning that same friend invited him to church. Desperate for help, with nothing to lose, Brian attended the Church service and heard the pastor share his own testimony of deliverance from a life of alcoholism and violence. Brian needed the same freedom that the pastor had.
At home that night, Brian sat down to do drugs as he always did. But this time was different as he prayed. “Jesus, if you’re real like that pastor said, you gotta take these drugs from me.. I want to stop!’
Jesus did show up and Brian Welch eventually overcame his battle with drug addiction and handed his life over to Christ.
In 2009, Brian published his award-winning book Washed in the Blood: ‘Lessons from My Time with Korn and My Journey to Christ.’

Such testimonies prove that there is no situation beyond God’s deliverance power.
It doesn’t matter how well, the enemy sets his trap of destruction, God has a way of escape for everyone who calls upon Him.
Certainly, God is our refuge whenever we face battles that seem too strong for us.

Psalms 91:2-3 says ‘I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.’

Having come to the end of this month of May, we can acknowledge that truly the Lord has been our fortress and refuge from the storms in our nations and in our individual lives.
By His grace we have escaped the snares of the fowler and by His mercies we have not been consumed.
We appreciate God for the power of deliverance in the Blood of Jesus that always enables us to emerge triumphant in every situation.
Today, always remember that no matter the difficulties, struggle, afflictions or oppressions the enemy tries to attack you with, by the Blood of Jesus you are destined for victory and glory.
As we draw the curtain on the month of May today, we have every cause to rejoice and bless the Lord who had not allowed us to see shame. He has empowered us to overcome the battles against us and by His grace we are stepping into even greater open doors in the months ahead of us.

PRAYER: Lord, Thank You for Your grace and mercies that continues to preserve me and my loved ones. I appreciate You for Your blessings in this month of May and I thank You for the greater things You are set to do for me in Jesus Name.
