Joshua 1:9 ‘Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.’

DAILY READING – John 8; 1 Chronicles 29; Zechariah14

David Hogan was born and raised in a family that for generations has preached the Gospel. But while growing up David rebelled and began to live a hard life of drinking, gangs and violence. However, after a divine encounter with God, his life turned around and he accepted Jesus as his Saviour.
In 1977 he became convinced that he was called to minister in Mexico..
He moved there with his wife and they began ministering to the Indians of Mexico.
At the initial stage of his ministry,, one-day he came to where someone had died and he heard the Lord tell him to raise the dead person. But David was so filled with doubt and fear that he did not obey.
When he left that place, afterwards he was filled with remorse and grief for not boldly obeying the Lord.
Two months later, he was preaching in a small village in Mexico, when he was asked by an Indian father to come and pray for his dying child.
When he got to the house he found the child had died and standing around were two black magic warlocks and two spiritist healers who had been called to heal the boy, but had failed to do so.
The boy’s father then turned to David Hogan and asked him to do something. Again, doubt, unbelief and fear began to grip him, but this time, he was determined to obey God. So he began to pray in tongues for a long while.
Just when he was about to conclude that his prayer would not work, the boy jerked back to life.
This first experience of raising the dead gave David Hogan a deep insight about exercising faith even in the face of adverse circumstances.
It also ignited in him the faith to begin ministering with such boldness that through his ministry there were overwhelming number of healings, including many people being raised from the dead.

To do the work of the Lord, we need supernatural boldness imparted into our hearts. This is because, as we start out on our journey, we will be confronted by giants, battles, and all manner of fearful challenges.
Except the Spirit of God emboldens us and goes with us we may be too afraid to make any move. We need the Holy Spirit to quicken us and strengthen us even when it looks like nothing is going to work. But as we continually fill our heart with the Word, the Holy Ghost will impart into our hearts the faith we need to overcome the world.
When Joshua was about to go forth with the army of Israel to possess the promised land, God commanded him to meditate on the Word day and night, by so doing he will be strong, courageous, and not be afraid or dismayed.
Likewise to possess our promised land and come into our inheritance we must be filled with faith through constant meditation in the Word.
While fear comes from looking at the impossibilities in the world, faith comes from looking at the possibilities in God’s Word.
Even when outward circumstances appear too difficult, through faith in God’s Word we can experience a supernatural turnaround.
Certainly today, as we keep blessing God and keep moving with boldness, surely He will cause us to experience amazing open doors and supernatural progress in our endeavors..

PRAYER: Lord, please enable me to meditate constantly on Your Word so that I can be strong and courageous to possess my inheritance of greater open doors this year in Jesus Name. .
