Matthew 15:13 “But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.”

DAILY READING; • Acts 15:1-21; Joshua 23-24; Job 32

On this date, 15 years ago, an event called the ‘Good Riddance Day’ began as an unofficial holiday in New York City. It is an event that celebrates the departure of unwanted memories and the frustrations of the past year, so as to usher in a fresh start for the New Year.
On December 28, 2007, a group called the Times Square Alliance started this event. Since then every 28 December, the annual Good Riddance Day has held in Times Square, New York, offering people the opportunity to write down their greatest failures, biggest regrets and most embarrassing moments from the year — so they can be destroyed. The organizers of this event believe that destroying symbols of unpleasant memories from the past year helps a person to get rid of these obstacles before crossing over into the New Year.
Participants write down painful memories from the past year and the papers are thrown into an industrial-strength shredder. Or if a person prefers, they could take a sledge hammer and smash their good riddance items, like a cell phone, for instance. The event is based after a Latin American tradition in which at the New Year, people stuff dolls with objects representing bad memories before setting them on fire.

Indeed there are negative things we do want to get rid of and not see again in 2023.
But shredding or smashing items that represent these negative things is not going to truly solve the problem.
If a problem can be likened to a tree, destroying physical reminders could be likened to targeting only the outward leaves, stems and branches, without touching the unseen root.
To permanently deal with problems we must go beyond the physical, because things are controlled from the spiritual realm.
There are people who every year try to break repetitive negative cycles in their lives, but despite their serious determination and New Year resolutions, they fail to overcome because divine help was not engaged.
To enjoy complete freedom from problems we must go for the root, which is the source of strength of the problems.
Therefore in these last remaining days of 2022, it is time to engage in spiritual warfare and aggression, activating the Blood of Jesus, to uproot everything we do not want to see in 2023.
In Matthew 15:13 Jesus says “Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.”
God has given us the power to uproot every negative planting and put a permanent halt to every Egyptian trying to cross over with us into the New Year. As we engage the power in the Blood of Jesus, there will arise a barrier between us and all the forces of pharaoh.
It doesn’t matter the kind of evil affliction or oppression that came against you in 2022, certainly you shall see those Egyptians no more.
Today, by the power in the Blood, the evil roots of stubborn problems in your life is totally destroyed. All evil occurrence and repetitive negative cycles, are permanently broken and you are sailing gloriously into 2023 as a victorious and triumphant child of God!

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for the power in the Blood of Jesus. Truly, by the power in the Blood, every tree which You have not planted in my life is permanently uprooted and destroyed today in Jesus Name.
