Matthew 5:16 ‘Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven’

• DAILY READING • Luke 20:1-26; Genesis 35:1-36:43; Psalm 27

Lun Poobuanak is a native missionary that served in a small village in Kalasin Province, which is in northeast Thailand.
For a long time, he preached the Gospel among the Buddhists and animists in this village, without much result.
Kalasin Province is a rich and fertile agricultural area, however, in 1994, a drought overcame the area and there was a lack of harvest. The situation gradually became desperate.
Though many people in the village had been unwilling to accept the Gospel but as the drought worsened they came to meet the missionary.
The leaders of the village told Lun Poobuanak “If you ask your God to give us rain this month, all households in our clan will worship your God and become Christians,”
Lun accepted the challenge and the Christians in the Church immediately began to fast and pray asking God for rain. On the fourth day a storm came with such intense rain that filled the rice fields and saved the crops.
This manifestation of God’s power made all the 134 families in the village, to become Christians, as they had promised. It also convinced many other unbelievers in the province to come to Christ.

John 4:48 said ‘Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.’

Truly it takes signs and wonders to make believers out of men. The manifestations of power easily draw men to the Gospel.
Today people are desperately looking for solutions to their many problems. There are people with health issues that doctors cannot solve, there are those facing insurmountable challenges in their finances, families, businesses, etc.
As believers, God has raised us for such a time as this to manifest His wonders so as to point men to Christ.
Christianity is not a religion, it is a relationship with God that manifests as power on the earth. It is living and walking in the supernatural and positively affecting the lives of men.

Every true Christian is meant to be a carrier of God’s power. 1Corinthians 2:4 says ‘the kingdom of God is not in words, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power!’

Certainly, in these perilous last days, men desire to see the demonstration of the Spirit! And we are the channel through which God’s power will flow to touch the world. The bright burning of God’s fire through us will draw men out of darkness and bring them into God’s kingdom.

Matthew 5:16 says ‘Let your light so shine before men that they will indeed see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.’

In these last days, while gross darkness covers the earth, glory will cover the Church. Jesus is coming for a glorious Church without spot or wrinkle. It is a Church that is living in power, dominion and holiness. None of us can afford to miss our place!
Let us therefore constantly keep oil in our vessels through diligent study of the Word and keep our lights burning through fervent prayers and passionate worship.
As we do so, surely, our lives will manifest the wonders that will continually draw men into God’s glorious kingdom.

PRAYER: Lord, please enable me to always live a spiritually fervent life. May my light so shine before men, that they will indeed see Your good works and continually glorify You in Jesus Name.
