St. Patrick is one of Christianity’s most widely known figures. He was a missionary, bishop and apostle of Ireland.
Though he died over 1,500 years ago, the day of his death, March 17, continues to be widely celebrated as St. Patrick’s Day.
Patrick was born in Britain in A.D. 390. He was raised in a wealthy Christian family, but as a young boy, he had no interest in God.
At the age of 16, he was kidnapped by thugs and taken hostage on a ship to Ireland. For six agonizing years, he was trapped as a slave and forced into labor.
In his captivity, Patrick began to cry out to God to rescue him.
He would later write of his ordeal, “I would pray constantly during the daylight hours”.
As he persisted in prayers, one day, he had a dream, where he heard God say to him: “Your hunger is rewarded. You are going home. Look, your ship is ready.”
Encouraged by this revelation, Patrick risked his life and escaped, journeying some 200 miles to the Irish coast where he boarded a ship that took him back to Britain.
His return to his parents was a big miracle. Having been transformed by the grace of God, Patrick now desired to serve God and eventually became a priest.
About 30 years after his abduction, Patrick sensed God stirring his heart to go back to the pagan land of Ireland where he had been enslaved to evangelize the people.
History records that on his return to Ireland, Patrick was beaten by thugs and harassed by Irish royalty, however, he persevered in proclaiming the Gospel.
God blessed him mightily and multitudes were converted and hundreds of churches were established. The Irish nation was transformed as many turned away from paganism to seek the true and living God..
When Patrick sought God in his captivity, . God did not only deliver him but exceeded his expectations and used him greatly in his generation.
Some of the fires we pass through in life are actually there to help revive us and usher is into a higher level of destiny.
God does not bring the temptations, but He turns around what the enemy meant for evil and uses it for our good.
Therefore, times of trials should draw us into intercession for Heavenly intervention because prayer changes things.
James 5:16(AMP) says that the earnest heartfelt, continued prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available which is dynamic in its working.
Prayer shifts things in the spirit realm to establish victory for us in the physical realm.
It doesn’t matter how negative things may look around you, through consistent and persistent prayers, you can spiritually re-organize your circumstances.
A believer who knows the power of prayer can never be stranded in life.
Through spiritual tenacity, you can break down every resistance and overcome all oppositions.
Jesus said that whatsoever we desire, when we pray and believe, we shall receive. ‘Whatsoever’ means there is no situation you cannot handle through prayer.
Therefore, to win our battles, we must accept spiritual responsibility. Every man is limited to the extent of his spiritual commitment. If we will pray the price, we will get our victory.
The believers who will stand in these last days are those who know how to go on their knees. Through spending quality time in study of the Word, prayer and praise we will be positioned for continuous victory.
Life is in phases and we must be prepared to battle on our knees to see the glory God ordained for each phase.
You must understand that the enemy fights what he fears and he fights the hardest when he knows God is about to promote you.
Those times when all the odds seem stacked against you, are often the times you are about to see a greater level of destiny.
Therefore, you must refuse to become weary or discouraged because your due season may be just around the corner. As you persist in prayers, it is only a matter of time before you soon see the glorious new level of destiny God has ordained for you.
PRAYER: Lord, Please help me to pay the price of spending quality time in Your Word and prayers so that my faith can be strengthened to see the wonders You have ordained for me in this season. Thank You Lord for always exceeding my expectations in Jesus Name.
