Hebrews 2:14-15 “…that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage..”

DAILY READING; Acts 13:26-52; Joshua 20-21; Job 30

Exactly seven years ago today, Pastor Rotimi Obajimi who served as a resident pastor in a village in Borno was kidnapped. On January 6th, 2014, he was travelling to Maiduguri when he was captured by members of Boko Haram.
After his abduction he was taken to Sambisa Forest where he was tied down for months before he was later moved to an unknown destination and thereafter brought back to Sambisa forest. After, 10 months in captivity, it became doubtful that his captors would let him go free.
As prayers continued to be offered for his release, God organized a divine rescue. On Tuesday the 7th of October, 2014 something strange happened that led to the pastor’s freedom.
On that day there was a heavy downpour of rain that resulted in massive flooding in Sambisa forest. The rain and flooding was so severe that it forced the armed terrorists to flee from the camp, abandoning their captives in the forest.
This gave Pastor Obajimi the opportunity to escape from where he was being held captive. He wandered in the forest several days before he could arrive at a village where the Nigerian military later picked him up and took him to safety. His amazing escape became national News and a wonder to many.

Indeed God is still in the business of doing signs and wonders.
In the book of Exodus, God delivered the children of Israel from Egypt through His signs and wonders. Through mighty manifestation of God’s power the Children of Israel were set free from 430 years of captivity.
Today, God is still using signs and wonders to bring deliverance to His people. Through His mighty power, He secures divine rescue from every captivity and bondage.
As the world groans under the siege of the pandemic, the Blood of Jesus is our guarantee of divine escape from the plague.
When the plague of death raged in Egypt through the sign of the Blood, the children of Israel were preserved, and the angel of death passed over them. Likewise today, through the sign of the Blood our divine deliverance is certain.
As believers, we must understand that our case will always be different. Jesus died on the cross to ensure our freedom from every harassment and assault of the enemy. He paid an ultimate price on the cross to separate us from evil. He did not die in vain. All that He suffered on Calvary was to ensure that affliction never arises a second time in our lives. Jesus died for the purpose of setting us eternally free from every bondage

Hebrews 2:14-15 says “..that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage..”

Through His death, Christ has brought us under the covenant of divine exemption. Let us therefore continually ensure we stay under His divine cover by aligning ourselves to God’s Word.
Certainly, this year, by the Blood, we have been sealed and separated from every evil. And as we abide in the center of God’s will, surely no evil shall befall us and no plague can come near our dwelling place in Jesus Name.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You that my case is indeed different. I thank You for Your seal of divine protection upon me and my family. Surely through the Blood of Jesus, no evil shall befall us and no plague can come near us in Jesus Name.
