Galatians 6:9 ‘And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.’
DAILY READING; • Luke 13:1-17; Genesis 23; Psalm 16
In the 1980’s the Chicago Sun-Times featured the story of a very interesting Research done at San Francisco General Hospital. The aim of the research was to find out the effectiveness of prayer in the lives of hospital patients.
192 patients were assigned to the “prayed-for” group and 201 patients to the “not-prayed-for” group. All patients were in the coronary intensive care unit. Patients, doctors and nurses did not know which group patients were in.
Those praying for them, were scattered around the nation and given only the first names, diagnoses and prognoses of the patients. The researcher said that the results were dramatic.
What the research revealed was that victims of heart attack, heart failure and other cardiac problems who were prayed for fared better than those who were not prayed for.
The prayed-for group had significantly fewer complications than the un-prayed for group. And fewer members of those prayed for died.
Those in the group not prayed for, were found to be five times more likely to develop infections requiring antibiotics, and three times more likely to develop a lung condition, leading to heart failure.
Indeed the findings from this research, which was published in the American Heart Association, was an amazing testament of the power of prayer.
What we can see from this research is that prayer indeed does make a difference. This story should encourage us never to give up on our prayers, both for ourselves and for others.
Indeed prayer works. Even when outwardly, it may seem as if our prayers are not having any effect, eventually the answer does manifest.
Therefore let’s never be tempted to stop praying even if we don’t see any immediate results. The fervent prayer of the righteous does avail much.
Prayer indeed works. And as long as you are praying according to God’s promises, no matter how long it takes, your answer will surely come to pass. Therefore don’t give up on sowing seeds of prayer! Your season is coming. Your harvest of blessing is on its way.
In Luke 18, we see the widow who brought her petition to the unjust judge, but though he initially denied her request, she didn’t give up. Eventually the judge granted her request simply because she was persistent!
Many times, we miss out on God’s best because we gave up too soon.
Galatians 6:9 says ‘And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.’
To every sowing season, there is a reaping season.
God is the prayer answering God, He doesn’t store prayer, He answers them. When we are due we will not be denied.
Even when you don’t see anything different, keep praying and speaking life and blessings over your situation. If you refuse to faint it is only a matter of time before you reap.
Indeed as you continue to press on in faith and keep an attitude of victory, you will soon see your harvest of blessing. Surely, this year God will amaze you with His goodness. You’ll see favor, health, increase, a greater level of your destiny. What God has in your due season will be bigger, better, more rewarding than anything you ever imagined.
PRAYER: Lord I thank You for granting me the grace to persevere in sowing good seeds. I know indeed that when I am due I will not be denied, I thank You for Your blessings being released over my life even right now in Jesus name.
