During the tryouts for the 1980 Olympics Spud Alford‘s dreams were shattered when he suffered a knee injury and collapsed before an audience of about 30,000 people.
This was followed by worse news of the discovery of a cancerous tumor under his right rib cage. While he was being prepared for major surgery, something miraculous happened. An old friend, who was a Christian visited Spud and said God had sent him to pray for his healing. After the prayers, doctors could no longer find the tumor. Touched by the miracle, Spud almost surrendered his life to Christ but he felt serving God may tamper with his focus of being an Olympic medalist. He soon returned to training for the 1984 Olympics. But his plans only kept facing frustrations until one day he finally stopped running from God and surrendered all to Christ. Eventually, Spud’s Olympic dreams faded away. Then in 1989, he got an idea to develop a board game based on finger football. His company succeeded greatly and became globally recognized. His boardgame has since expanded into soccer, baseball and golf. The success that eluded him through direct participation in sports, he finally found in a more fulfilling way as he began to serve God.

It can be tempting to follow our own ambitions and not seek God’s vision for us. But leaning on our own understanding can lead to struggles and frustrations.
To live in overflowing blessings, we need Christ to lead us into the glory He has preordained for us.
As the redeemed of the Lord, you are the vehicle through whom and to whom He is going to bring His glory to bear on the face of the earth. There are things that God has destined to do in you, through you, and by you that will be a marvel to all.
This year, there is a call of God upon your life. It is a call out of sin and shame to glory and honor.
But for that to happen, you must take your sanctification to the next level.
To manifest glory holiness has to be our story.
While it is God’s desire to lead us to prosperity, He will first do a divine reset in us and bring us into alignment with His will.
Jesus died to redeem us from the curse of limitations and usher us into a life of unlimited blessings and glory.
Revelation 5:12 says He is the Lamb that was slain to bring to us power, riches, wisdom, strength, honour, glory, and blessing.
As we walk in obedience to Christ this year, certainly, we will arrive at our own Rehoboth where room will be made for us in the land and we will have open space to prosper!

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to always prioritize Your will above my own choices and desires. As I follow Your plans I thank You for causing my life to overflow with blessings in Jesus Name.
