October 29 :  REACHING OUT IN LOVE

1 John 3:17-18 ‘But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.’

DAILY READING Matthew 8:1-13; Exodus 39:1-40:38; Proverbs 18

Oskar Schindler was an ethnic German and a Christian, who protected over a thousand Jews during the holocaust. During World war 2, when Adolf Hitler began killing Jews all over Europe, Schindler bought a Jewish-owned enamelware factory in 1939, and began to employ Jewish workers as a way of saving them from the holocaust. Schindler went to great lengths to ensure his workers were protected. He repeatedly gave money to German soldiers, to prevent them from deporting his workers to extermination camps. He also added an armaments manufacturing division to his factory so that he could claim his Jewish workers were essential to the war effort.

He even let his workers stay safe within the walls of his factory to avoid being arrested. Later, Schindler convinced the Nazis to convert his factory into a branch of Plaszow concentration camp, and brought in Jews from other camps as well, protecting them from the brutality of the holocaust at great personal risk. During this time, he was arrested three times by the Nazis for his clandestine activities—but they could not find enough evidence against him. He only shut down operations of his factory the day  Hitler was defeated and the local concentration camps were liberated.

Schindler’s act of kindness saved the lives of over a thousand Jews. Although he died without fanfare or much recognition, he has since been recognized posthumously with many international awards. His kindness was so appreciated by the nation of Israel that he was subsequently exhumed from Germany and reburied in Israel. Twenty five years ago, the movie ‘Schindler’s list’, which tells the story of Schindler, became a blockbuster. Recently in 2018, this movie was remade and released by Universal Pictures, and already it has won several Academy Awards and Oscars. Indeed Schindler continues to be honored for choosing to have risked his life to save others.

Yet, interestingly, Oskar Schindler was not the only rich Christian in Germany at the time of the holocaust. There were many others too, but they decided to look the other way while many Jews perished. Today no one remembers their names, but the name of Oskar Schindler and his acts of kindness continues to resonate throughout the world.

Jesus asked us to lay down our lives for others. In Luke 10:25-37, Jesus told the story of the good Samaritan who took care of a man wounded by thieves, while  the priest, and the Levite saw the man in need but took to the other side of the road.

Often times like the priest and Levite, we like to take the other side of the road, we don’t just want to get involved with people’s issues. We would rather observe from the distance, even sometimes labeling such action as wisdom. But in the scriptures, Jesus continually told us to show love one to another. The world is full of hurting people, even in the church. They need someone to reach out in love. Love is practical, it is what we do.

James 2:15-16, says ‘If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?’

We need to reach out to others in love, especially those who are of the household of faith. Let us not love in words, but in deeds.  Let us be physical manifestations of Jesus to our world.  Let us indeed love our neighbors as ourselves.

1 John 3:17-18, says: ‘But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.’

Giving is the biblical way of proving the sincerity of our love. Our claim to love God or humanity will not be sincere if we are not givers. Meeting the need of humanity is what gives dignity to destiny. And the truth is that you can have everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.

And one of the ways we can be a blessing to people is by sowing towards the preaching of the Gospel. Many people in the world today are experiencing spiritual holocaust, many are suffering in the regions of death and darkness, under one demonic bondage or the other, simply because they lack the light of the Gospel. When we give towards sending the Gospel all over the world, then in practical terms, we are helping to set the captives free.  And every seed you sow enlarges the coast of Gods blessings in your life. Every seed enriches your heavenly account. If there is no giving, there is no receiving. And until your seed is down, your harvest is not in view. But whatever we give, comes back to us in good measures, pressed down shaken together and running over.  Indeed, you can’t give yourself wholly and not experience God fully.

PRAYER: Lord, please enable me to love people as You love them. Help me to shine Your love wherever I go. I receive the grace today to love practically by giving towards the deliverance and salvation of men in Jesus Name.

October 28  : BE SOBER AND VIGILANT

LUKE 22: 46.  KJV

And said unto them why sleep ye, rise ye and pray lest you enter into temptation.

DAILY READING          Matthew 7; Exodus 37:1-38:31; Proverbs 17

A soldier’s life during battle is that of constant alertness. Not knowing when or how the enemy would strike, he remains alert and watchful.

During the Second World War, US soldiers and aviators were given benzedrine, an amphetamine drug, to increase their alertness during long periods on duty.  The  air force pilots also were able to use the drug to remain awake during combat flights. British troops used 72 million amphetamine tablets in the second world war, and the RAF used so many that it was said, that “Methedrine won the Battle of Britain” American bomber pilots use amphetamines (“go pills”) to stay awake during long missions.

The amount of these drugs consumed gives you an idea of importance of alertness to soldiers. Because the human body is limited in its capability, the military resort to drugs to help stretch the alertness of their troops,

Severally Jesus told us as believers to watch and pray. But unlike the soldiers we don’t need drugs for alertness. The Holy Ghost is the power that will keep us watching and praying.

These are the days of spiritual preparation. Living in the world at such a time as this it is easy to get caught up in the affairs of life. But Paul warns us that no man that is at  wars entangles himself with the affairs of life. And even though we are in the world we are not of the world. Therefore there is a serious call for every Christian to live a life of spiritual alertness and readiness. For no man knows the day or the hour. The apostles in their own time always lived expectant of the Lord’s coming. And so should we at this time. We should not get carried away by the things around us because most of them are passing away. 2 Peter 3:10  says ‘But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up..

Do you know that life on the earth in this is at the most precarious in history. The possibility of nuclear warfare is at its highest. In fact it has been said that this is the first generation with the capability to destroy the earth, because the nuclear weapons in the world now number in the millions.

This is therefore the time to wake up from every spiritual slumber. We must keep our eyes on things that are above and not be entangled again in the yoke of bondage.

In all we do we must keep our focus on heaven.

While we live meaningful lives on earth, let men also know that we are heaven bound. Let our lifestyle reflect it. In Ephesians 4:1 Paul says ‘I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;’

We must be alert to maintain a heavenly lifestyle. It may not be easy to live differently  while still in the world, but by the help of The Spirit we can.

Let our life reflect where we are going. Let men look at us and know that there is something different about us. Let the joy and peace emanating from us be a magnet to their troubled souls. Let them come to us wanting to have what we have. It is the shinning if light that draws moths out of the darkness. Let the light of Heaven shine through us to draw men to God

PRAYER: Lord, please  give the grace to live ready and not to be entangled   again in the affairs of this world, give me the grace to live holy and separated unto You …  .

October 27  : LIGHT FOR VICTORY

Psalm 119:130

“The entrance of Thy Words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple”

Recently innovations in policing was undertaken by the New York Police Department. One of these innovations is a major control study in New York City which has proved and demonstrated that lighting cut night-time crime by 39 per cent.

In partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice, the New York City Police Department and the New York City Housing Authority, the scientific research team designed a six-month randomized controlled trial in areas which had elevated levels of crime. Nearly 80 public housing developments in New York City participated in the six-month controlled trial. In this experiment about half of the housing development areas received new, temporary street lights, and half did not.

The study found that the areas that received the new lights immediately experienced lowered crime rates. The results of the lights project has proved to the New York Police department that it is possible to reduce crime and, at the same time, lower its prison population, through lighting up major areas of the city at night. .

One major way governments have been fighting crimes is by lighting up dark streets and corners. Hitherto crime zones once flooded with light had criminal activities drastically reduce. Criminals like to hide under the cover of darkness to carry out their evil activities. But when light comes and they have no more hiding place they are forced to quit the area.

Spiritually also man is oppressed from the regions of darkness. The psalmist says that the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty. It is the dark regions in a man’s life that gives room to the operations of darkness.. But when light comes every darkness  must disappear. What you need to guarantee victory against the operations of evil forces is an introduction of the light of God’s Word. It doesn’t matter the trial or challenge facing you. The Bible declares, “And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. [John 1:5.]

Any challenge faced by any man is from the region of darkness. This includes sickness, failure and repetitive evil cycles. You cannot fight darkness in darkness! The solution to every work of darkness is introduction of light. You cannot wrestle sickness in ignorance; what you need to do is to go into God’s Word and find out God’s promises for your health and wellbeing and introduce that Word into this area of darkness and darkness will naturally flee, because light and darkness don’t struggle for right of place. ‘The entrance of Thy Words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple” [Psalm 119:130]

This means that it is your responsibility to access The Word that will give the light to dispel every darkness in your life. The Psalmist prayed: “Open Thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of Thy law” [Psalms 119:18.]

As you begin today to flood your life with the light of The Word of God every darkness will disappear from around you. From today may your life be permanently flooded with light as you commit to constant study of God’s Word!

PRAYER:  Lord, help me to keep my life covered by Your light so that there will be no hiding place for darkness in my life. Please destroy spiritual laziness in my life and give a fresh appetite for constant study of Your Word, so that faith can arise in my heart to access the victory You have ordained for me in Jesus Name.

October 26 :   HUNGRY FOR  REVIVAL

James 5:16, ‘Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.’

DAILY READING Matthew 6:1-18; Exodus 33:1-34:35; Proverbs 15

John Hyde was a missionary to India, he was an extraordinary man of prayer who became known as “Praying Hyde”. When he first arrived in India he found the people very unreceptive to the Gospel. For eight years he labored without any results. It seemed that no matter how hard he worked, no matter how many people he witnessed to, nothing happened. The lack of conversion drove him into deep prayer. He would spend hours and hours with The Lord, forgetting about sleep and food, standing  in the gap for believers and those to be saved. “Oh God, give me souls or I die!” would become one of his most famous prayers. He finally decided to pray and fast until there was revival. For some days he did not eat and he spent each day on his face before God praying that he would open up the hearts of the people.  At one time, during those days, he spent continuous hours on his knees, begging God for His power. The Indians began to call him “The man who never sleeps.” It was not long after those days before his prayers began to have their desired effect. After a time of fruitlessness on the mission field, the Lord started moving. The Sialkot Conventions were started in 1904 and there, God’s revival power would touch many missionaries and indigenous people, changing the landscape of spiritual India.

Many saw the glory, but few knew the story of his desperate hunger. The truth is that you can experience a change of story, if only you are willing to pay the price of seeking until you find. Prayer is a ministry of the secret place, but God rewards you openly. Jesus promised in Mathew 21:22 that ‘all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.’ Therefore, don’t give up too soon, don’t get easily discouraged. Keep praying because something is about to happen.

James 5:16 says ‘The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.’

“Effectual fervent prayer” is absolutely one of the keys to revival. To encounter God’s power you must be hungry for it. God is committed to filling those who hunger and thirst after righteousness. It is a law of the spirit that only the hungry get filled. Christianity is a faith of responsibility., every provision in scriptures has its conditions. And it is only those who seek that find. Indeed God will reward you when diligently seek Him.

It is time therefore to pray and praise down revival. Enough of dwelling around the shallow waters, enough of making excuses for failure. Let us engage God’s power for our desired solutions. let us get into the depth of The Word, prayer and deep worship; there we will see God’s  power in a new and greater dimension. And in addition to fervent prayer we must also engage fervent praise. Praise will always guarantee us a raise, and gratitude will lead us to a higher altitude.

PRAYER: Lord, please grant me a deeper hunger for prayer, praise and  Your Word. Help me Lord to experience the revival that will lead to my desired  change of story  in Jesus Name.

OCTOBER 25; PREPARATION FOR MANIFESTATION

2 Chronicles 27:6. ‘So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the Lord his God.’

DAILY READING –   Matthew 5:21-48; Exodus 30-32; Proverbs 14

Butterflies are one of Nature’s most beautiful and amazing creatures. They fly and float beautifully in the air. But this is only after they have  gone through a long metamorphic process. A moth will not become a beautiful butterfly until it has endured the struggle through the tiny hole in its cocoon. When a moth is struggling to get through the hole, it is actually forcing the fluid from its body into its wings. Without the struggle the wings will not get the necessary fluid to grow, without the struggle the butterfly’s wings would never be strong enough to function and fly. And without flight the butterfly will not be able to survive.

Preparation is the fundamental key in the school of success.

Athletes know the importance of preparation. To compete and do well, they need to be in good shape mentally and physically. It takes hours and hours of practice. The average Olympian prepares himself by training four hours per day, 310 days per year, for six years before succeeding. That translates into more than 7,000 hours of training for an event that may last less than sixty seconds. And when they finally win and stand on the pedestal to receive their gold, many never see the price they paid in the place of preparation. Indeed it doesn’t take time to manifest, but it takes time to prepare. Truly, preparation is the mother of  manifestation.

2 Chronicles 27:6. Says ‘So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the Lord his God.’

Preparation must always precede manifestation. It is only those who have paid their due, in preparation that becomes due for manifestation.  To fly high, you must pass through a necessary process of preparation. Indeed it is our year of Eagle’s flight, but we must understand that there is always a price to pay to arise  to greater heights.

To get to where God wants us to be, we must be willing to go through the required process.  It is impossible to get from where we are to where we are going without making a transition. To ascend to the height God has for us we must be willing to go through the process of transition. And God is more interested in the process, than in our comfort. Indeed God is taking us somewhere. He is repositioning us. And even when we face storms in the place of preparation, we must remember that the storm is not the destination, but the pathway to a destination. And no matter what process God passes us through, according to Romans 8:28 indeed All things are working together for our good, because we  love God, and are called according to His purpose.

So on this eagle’s flight, let us be willing to embrace the process of preparation, because God won’t project you unless He has first prepared you. The year may be coming to an end but it is not too late for God to do what He has said He will do, as long as we do our own part by staying prepared. We prepare in the place of prayer, studying The Word, praise and sacrificial giving. And truly when we refuse to be weary in doing good, surely in due season we shall reap.

PRAYER: Father please help me to be willing to submit to the necessary process that will prepare me for my next level.  Please destroy every force of limitation in my life and enable me to rise to the place  you have ordained for me in this season in Jesus name.

NOVEMBER 24  : DIVINELY EXEMPTED  FROM EVIL!

Revelation 12:11

‘And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death’

DAILY READING –   Matthew 5:1-20; Exodus 28:1-29:46; Proverbs 13

Recently on CBN news was the story of missionary, Pastor Danial who served in  Mindanao in southern Philippines. There he preached the Gospel among the tribal people. But one day unexpectedly, he was kidnapped by a splinter group of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, or MILF. When the terrorists captured him, he had his towel around his neck, and one of the terrorists grabbed the towel and told him, that was what they would use to wipe the blood from his neck after beheading him. They then took him to their camp where he met their Commander, a notorious terrorist. The commander told the pastor he would be killed for leading tribal people to Christ, because anyone who preaches the Gospel of Jesus Christ and upholds the God of Israel is their enemy. When the pastor saw the terrorists digging a hole nearby for his grave, he truly thought the end was near.

However at that same time Pastor Danial’s family and friends were in fervent prayers for him. And just as God delivered Peter from death when the church prayed, a sudden inexplicable miracle happened. The next morning, the terrorist Commander received an urgent phone call from their leader. After speaking with the leader, he then handed over the phone to Pastor Danial. The pastor heard a voice at the other end say that though they had planned to kill him that day, they had changed their mind and decided to release him. And the voice did not give any further explanation or reason for their sudden change of plan.

Pastor Danial was then released by the terrorists, who gave him a strict warning to stop evangelizing. Though he relocated to another part of town, yet, despite his near death experience, Pastor Danial continues to share the gospel with the tribal people of Mindanao. After seeing God’s mighty power to deliver, he said the incident has only made him bolder to serve God.

Isaiah 54:17 says no weapon formed against us shall prosper. And Psalm 91:11 says God will give His angels charge over us to keep us in all our ways.

Indeed God’s promises of divine protection are real. But we need to walk in a conscious understanding of our covenant rights and privileges to access it. And one covenant way of divine escape is engaging the power of the blood of Jesus.

In Exodus 12:13, God’s condition for exemption is ‘when I see the blood, I will pass over you’ The night that God passed through Egypt there was wailing in every house except the houses whose door posts were marked with blood. Why the Israelites escaped was because they knew what to do. Now supposing some Israelites refused to apply the blood as instructed, they would have been victims of the great slaughter that night. This is why it is important for us to know what to do so as to be exempted from the evil of the end-times. For the law of divine exemption to work for you, you must walk in an understanding of God’s Word and His covenant.  As a child of God, things are not permitted to happen to you anyhow. Evil may be happening to others, but it is not permitted to happen to you; only with your eyes you will see the reward of the wicked. All those who serve the Lord genuinely are exempted from the evil and affliction that affects others.

Revelation 12:11 says ‘And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death’

By the blood we are able to overcome every evil. Therefore in your goings and comings continually plead the blood over you and your household. As you do The Spirit of The Lord will lift up the standard of the blood against every flood of the enemy.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for the covenant of divine exemption. I know that indeed my case is different, because by the blood of Jesus I am separated from all evil in Jesus Name. ..

 DAILY READING –  – Matthew 4; Exodus 25-27; Proverbs 12

Usain Bolt is said to be the fastest man alive. Bolt’s accomplishments have made him the first man in history to set three world records in a single Olympic Games competition.

As early as age 14, Bolt was wowing fans of sprinting with his lightning speed. At the age of 15, Bolt took his first shot at success on the world stage at the 2002 World Junior Championships in Kingston, Jamaica, where he won the 200-meter dash, making him the youngest world-junior gold medalist ever. Bolt’s feats impressed the athletics world, and he was soon given the apt nickname “Lightning Bolt.”

In 2008, as a 22 year old athlete, he astounded the world, by winning three gold medals at the Beijing Olympics, all of them in new world record times! The gold medals continued to come in consequent Olympic Games and World Championships. Many have hailed Usain Bolt as the greatest sprinter ever.

Bolt who was raised in a Christian home has continually acknowledged God as the source of his success. His Christian upbringing by Christian parents  equipped him with the passion to become the legendary world athletics performer that he is today. And he is deliberate to let the world know that the secret of his success is God.

Impressive also is the fact that Usain openly gives thanks to God after each win, by getting on his knees to pray on the track when the media cameras are on him. And this has been his custom; praying before every race, and immediately praising God when he has finished. He does this without fail.

However, it is interesting that while the mainstream media are quick to talk about his athletic exploits, they seem to be at pains to keep his faith a secret. After the Rio Olympics, the BBC were criticized for attempt to deliberately suppress Usain Bolt’s belief, when they merely referred to his prayer on the track as ‘a moment to himself.’ Usain Bolt’s public relations team had to issue a media statement, saying; “Usain Bolt is a Bible-believing, God-honouring, Jesus-worshipping Christian.’

Indeed, men who truly fear God seek to honor Him in everything. We live in a world where the enemy is trying desperately to silence the voice of Christianity. In places like America, atheists are fighting every inch to ensure Christianity is silenced.  Prayer has long ago been removed from public schools, and Christian religious symbols removed from public places. And even publicly quoting  Bible verses that condemn sin, can be seen as hate speech. In such a time as we live, we can no longer afford to be secret service Christians. In every possible way we must let the voice of the Gospel be heard. Through our deeds, through our speech, we must let men know there is a risen Christ.

In  acts 18:9, Jesus told Paul ‘be not afraid, but speak and hold not thy peace..’

We must let our light  shine. Light shines brightest when the darkness is strongest. Some of us God has placed us strategically in some places, in some offices, simply as reflectors of His kingdom. Like the Esther, Daniel and Joseph of this generation God has placed you where you are, as a light into the darkness. You are not just on a job, you are on a missionary assignment. And no matter what your job description may entail, you are first and foremost a Christian before anything else. You are there to give light to all that are in the house. When your aim is to honor God, He will show you creative ways to share your faith. God says He will honor them that honor Him. So be assured that in honoring God, through proclaiming The Word, He will in turn honor you before men.

PRAYER: Father please help me to shine as light in the darkness. Let Your Presence make the difference everywhere I go, let men come to You  as they see your light through my life in Jesus Name.

October 22  : HELP FROM ABOVE

Romans 8:37  “In all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us’

DAILY READING    Matthew 3; Exodus 24; Proverbs 11

During the Yom kippur war, when Syria launched a surprise attack against Israel, a 21-year-old lieutenant, named Zvika Greengold had been visiting his parents for the holiday. When he heard that war had broken out, he hitchhiked to an army base in the Golan heights where he helped with the wounded. While he was there, he saw two damaged army tanks repaired. Zvika immediatley took command of these tanks, and gathering some random soldiers, they went into battle. By this time it was already dark. In the darkness, as they fought with the Syrians, the exploding enemy tanks knocked out his radio. He therefore, jumped from his tank and took command of the second tank. However in the darkness, he lost contact with the other tank and found himself fighting alone. Soon he faced a long line of Syrian tanks, with better fighting ability and night vision. He dodged the enemy, shooting and moving; using the cover of darkness to his advantage. In no time, ten Syrian tanks were either damaged or dead. His movements so confused the Syrians that they became convinced that they had encountered a large Israeli force. Also Zvika, afraid the enemy was listening in and not wanting to give away the desperate fact that he was fighting alone, identified himself on radio to the Israeli high-command as “Zvika Force”.

Though injured at a point, for the rest of the night, he battled the Syrians. By morning, “Zvika Force” was winning the battle against the enemy. He only left the scene when there was a desperate call to pull back and join other soldiers fighting off the Syrians at the Israeli forces command center in the Golan heights.  Zvika fought with the Israeli army until they were finally able to repel the Syrian attack. When it was over, Zvika climbed out of his tank and collapsed, mumbling, “I can’t anymore.” He had been battling the enemy for 20 hours non-stop, changing tanks six times as they were shot out from under him. Beyond his ability and beyond his own thinking, he had done what he never could have imagined he could do. Zvika, an ordinary young soldier, had found himself doing alone the work of almost an entire army. At the end of the Yom Kippur War, the Israeli Defense Force awarded Zvika Greengold the Medal of Valor for his extraordinary heroism. He is one of the only eight soldiers to have earned this medal in Israel.

2 Chronicles 26:15 speaking about King Uziah says . ‘And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvelously helped, till he was strong.’

Marvelous help will always generate marvelous strength. The help of God does for us exceedingly, abundantly, above all we could ever ask or imagine.  Indeed when strengthened through Christ, we can do all things.

Sometimes in life’s battles it can seem as if you are one man against a greater force. The fight may sometimes seem greater than what you can handle. But those times it seems you are alone and battling greater forces, have it in mind that God sees whatever you may be going through, His Name is Jehovah El-Roi, the God that sees (Genesis 16:13-14). When you are weak He will be strong for you.  And even when there seems to be no way, He will surely make a way for you. Therefore, always be assured, that as a child of God, you are never alone in your battles. Truly they that be for you are greater than they that be against you.

Romans 8:37 says “In all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us’.

When you have God on your side, you have the majority on your side. It is true that the world is a battle field, but through divine help you can escape defeat, humiliation and shame. Through the help of God, you will triumph always.

Psalm 71:7 says ‘I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.’

When God is with you,  no one can be against you; this is what assures victory in every battle. It is His grace that makes great. Even when you may not know what you are doing, somehow God will order your steps to the right place and at the right time. Indeed with divine help, you become a wonder to your world. And divine help is accessed through coming daily to God, to fellowship with Him in prayer and in His Word.  Let us therefore learn to always come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need in Jesus Mighty Name.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for doing for me exceedingly, abundantly above all I could ever ask or imagine. Indeed I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me in Jesus Name.

DAILY READING – Matthew 2; Exodus 22:1-23:33; Proverbs 10

Michael Faraday is a famous British physicist and chemist. He was also a devout Christian whose remarkable contributions, particularly within electrochemistry and electromagnetism, helped pave the way for breakthroughs in modern science. Born on September 22, 1791 in England, Michael Faraday was raised in a less-than-affluent household. He was the son of a blacksmith and because he received limited formal education due to his family’s poverty, Faraday educated himself by reading many books during an apprenticeship with a local bookbinder and bookseller.

While reading countless books at his apprenticeship, Faraday took an interest in science and wound up attending lectures given by Sir Humphry Davy, an English chemist and professor at the Royal Institution in London. Faraday would later send to the professor a 300-page book, based on his compiled records. Soon after receiving his book, Davy employed Faraday as a secretary and, years later, promoted him to Chemical Assistant at the institution. In 1825, he was appointed as a life-time Fullerian Professor of Chemistry. His remarkable discoveries in science  has made possible breakthroughs in modern science. Although Faraday had little school education, and did not know higher mathematics, he became one of the most influential scientists in history. For the most part, he was an autodidact: he taught himself. Faraday became the greatest experimental physicist of the nineteenth century.

History has a record of many such men and women who through discoveries marked a turn in human development. For many of them; the process of discovery took time but, they kept at it: studying, researching, finding facts. When they eventually make a great discovery, they not only become celebrated, but also within them there is a depth of satisfaction that becomes a justifiable reward for all the effort and arduous labor invested in their search..

It is the same when you devote yourself to search in The Word to make a discovery. In Luke 15 the Bible talks about the woman who lost her coin and lighted her candle and searched diligently until she had found the lost coin.

Discovery leads to recovery. Sometimes by refusing to act according to the Word of God, we can lose things which originally belonged to us in the covenant. We could lose wealth, health. Peace etc due to ignorance or not walking in line with God’s will.

But we can experience restoration or recovery of these things by simply going to the Book of Covenant, to search out where we missed it. Diligent search in The Word will locate your missing inheritance..  And When you find it there is a reward and your expectations are not cut off.

PRAYER: PRAYER; Father please help me  to make the discovery from your Word that will lead to recovery of all I have lost in Jesus Name.

October 20 :  IN PURSUIT OF FAITH

EXODUS 14::28 KJV

28 And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.

The white-tailed deer has many predators, such as leopards, lions, dogs, bears, tigers, coyotes, wolves, and even humans. Therefore, to survive it has had to learn many different tactics. When the deer see, smell, or hear something suspicious, they stick their white tails up to signal to others that danger is near. The leader will run, and the others will follow. Whitetail deer are great escape artists. This is key to their strategy for survival. They have different styles of escape when being pursued by a predator, which  includes  high speed sprints,  remaining hidden until the predator is very near, and then make an explosive escape;  slinking away on their bellies or  crisscrossing their own  paths to create a confusing trail. The white-tailed deer can swim, run, hide, and fight to stay out of trouble, but a  very remarkable strategy  is to run  deeper  into water,

When a deer is chased to water, it knows what to do. This is one place the deer knows it will win the battle.  The deer runs into the water and swims to the deepest part. They will go deeper into the water to the point where their  pursuers cannot follow them. And if a stubborn predator still follows, the deer will kick and thrash until the predator drowns or walks off wounded.

They can also  hide by submerging themselves in the water, leaving only their nose on the surface, using  their noses like snorkels , to breath, just as a scuba diver would. A lion or tiger in pursuit would risk drowning by following them into such deep waters.

Likewise, there is a depth you can get to in the Word where the enemy cannot follow you to.

When pharaoh and his army tried to follow Israel into the depth of the sea they were drowned. Wisdom is to reside in this depth, where you become inaccessible to evil.

Dwelling in the depth of The Word guarantees freedom. Every evil departs from you. It is a depth where any Egyptian after you will drown because you have gone too deep for them to follow. Dwelling in the depth of The Word is dwelling in the place of great faith and faith is the victory that overcomes the world.

When Faith comes alive in you, victory is assured. And the way to get faith is not by hearing the Word once or just occasionally. It is determined by hearing the Word repeatedly until something happens on the inside.

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to go  into your Word until I can get to the  depth, where covered by Your glory, I become invisible  to every force of darkness in Jesus Name.
