APRIL 17; VICTORY BY THE BLOOD

Exodus 12:13 ‘And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt’

DAILY READING –   2 Corinthians 10; 2 Kings 23:36-24:20; Habakkuk 1

Gospel artist and songwriter Nicole C. Mullen was in the news recently, thanking God for delivering her mother from cancer.

Some months earlier she had publicly solicited prayers for her mother, whom the doctors had given a not-so-good medical report. Suspecting cancer the doctors had ordered immediate surgery. Nicole had called together family and friends and they had prayed, fasted, and did what they knew to do.

Yet in the midst of the anxiety, Nicole’s mum, an ordained minister of the Gospel, had remained in faith. She refused to believe the negative  medical report  but chose rather to ultimately trust the report of the Lord! Then after all the medical tests, they received an answer; the doctors suddenly found that she was alright and there was no longer any need to operate, What had been a concern was  found to be no longer cancerous.  The surgeons took her name off the list for operations. It was indeed a miracle!

Despite the initial report, Nicole’s mum stood in faith and claimed the healing that belonged to her through the blood of Jesus. And today she is whole and hearty, because she knew how to exercise her covenant right.

Indeed as children of God, our case is different. By the power in the blood of Jesus we are separated from the evil that is in the world.  Christ Himself became a curse for us, that we might experience a blessed life. He has paid the ultimate price for our freedom, that is why concerning us, affliction cannot arise a second time.

Spiritually we are partakers of the blood line of Jesus Christ. Therefore whatever cannot afflict the blood line of Jesus has no access to us.  As a child of God, your body is the temple of The Holy Ghost. And because The Holy Ghost carries fire, your body is a temple of fire. You are charged and electrified and any evil attempting to touch you gets electrocuted.

Revelation 12:11 says “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death”.

Indeed we are overcomers by the blood of Jesus. We are in a battle, and in this battle, victory is secured through fire power. We therefore need to take up the responsibility of maintaining spiritual fire, through a fervent prayer life.. The more we pray, the more the fire burns in us to consume every chaff of weakness, sickness and disease.

Indeed there is fire and power in the blood of Jesus to uproot every thing which our Heavenly Father has not planted in us. And by the power in the blood, our victory over every affliction is permanently secured in Jesus Name.

PRAYER: Father I thank You for making me to be a partaker of Your divine bloodline. Indeed through Christ I am an overcomer in every conflict. Surely I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me in Jesus Name.

APRIL 16; FOCUS ON GOD

1 Timothy 6:12 KJV

‘Fight the good fight of faith lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.’

DAILY READING

1 Corinthians 15:1-34; 2 Kings 10; Nahum 3

On September 28 2018,  at the same time a powerful earthquake struck Indonesia, one plane managed to miraculously take off from the Palu airport, barely escaping the destruction. The Indonesian pilot testifies that his relationship with God helped him hear divine instructions that saved him and 148 passengers.

Commercial Pilot Ricoseta Mafella, a devout Christian, told CBN News he usually just hums worship songs during his flights. But moments before the earthquake and tsunami hit Indonesia he felt the urge to sing aloud. He says, “God seemed like He was saying, ‘ust praise me and worship me.'”

Capt. Mafella says after landing,  as passengers departed and Mafella prepared for his next flight, he says he heard the voice of The Holy Spiri again instructing him, “Be quick, get out of this place. Depart early.”

Capt. Mafella wondered if it was just his imagination, or something else. Regardless, he obeyed what he had heard and took off three minutes earlier than the scheduled departure time. That decision literally saved lives.

Capt. Mafella was amazed at the chronological order of events.

He recalls, “The quake started at the Donggala area 17:55… 5:55 pm. I pushed back at 5:52. The highest 7.7 and 7.4 magnitude hit exactly after my lift off!”
Indeed we must be sensitive to hear what The Holy Spiri is saying to us per time. And we can  only be sensitive if we can maintain constant focus on God. Though flying a commercial airplane, because he kept focused  on God, this pilot heard  the instruction that saved him and his passengers.
To win in life”s battles you have to learn to cut down distractions and focus on God’s word..
To have victory, you must maintain your focus. The world is full of distractions; so many things calling your name, seeking your attention, trying to shift your focus, trying to derail you from your course. Thus, you must let your focus always be on the Word. Be controlled by the Word. Keep filling your heart continually with the Word, until your actions are dominated and controlled only by what God says. When your heart is full of the Word of God, there will be no room for frivolities. Like Jesus, you will say, ‘My meat is to do the will of Him that sent me, [John 4:34]. Your primary concern will be only to please God. When that happens, then you can be sure of victory, because God Himself will arise and  see you through in every of life’s challenges.
Prayer
Lord, please  help me to hear You clearly concerning Your will for me, no more guess work, Please help me to always receive Your precise instructions, before I take any major step in Jesus Name. .

APRIL 15; FAITH TO STAND AGAINST THE ODDS

Mark 9;23 ‘Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.

DAILY READING     2 Corinthians 8; 2 Kings 20-21; Nahum 2

Ludwig van Beethoven is considered by many to be the world’s greatest composer. He composed some of the most profound Christian masterpieces in history. However, from the time he was born in 1770, Beethoven faced overwhelmingly difficult circumstances. His childhood and adolescence were difficult due to his father’s harsh discipline and alcoholism. Beethoven’s education never exceeded elementary level. While still a teenager, his mother died. His father couldn’t cater for the family and at only 19 years, Beethoven became their family’s bread winner.  In 1792, Beethoven relocated to Vienna. During this time he quickly made a name for himself as a virtuoso pianist. Publishers soon began to compete for his newest works.

However around the age of 26 years, tragedy struck; he began to experience loss of hearing. By 1801, he had lost 60% of his hearing. Hearing loss would present a severe trial to anyone, but for a master musician – deafness was indeed devastating.  Though he suffered bouts of deep depression, Beethoven was determined. with God’s help, to succeed despite his disability. To him deafness was not an obstacle large enough to block his path to success. Strengthened by faith, he forged forward.

He began to observe the vibrations of the piano.  To hear his own compositions, he sawed off the legs of his piano and placed the piano on the floor, and pressed his ear to the floor as well. He would then proceed to bang on the piano keys, to hear what he had written. With this method he eventually composed some of the best symphonies of all times. And the amazing thing is that five of these best symphonies were composed when he was completely deaf. This period also saw the composition of his largest works. It is astonishing to study the complexities and beauty of his late works and to realize that, except in his imagination, he never heard them performed.  Through his ordeal, he maintained a close personal relationship with God, often turning to God to make sense out of his situation. The important thing is that he never gave up. By a strong faith in God, he withstood, the challenges that came to him, he prevailed and excelled in his art.   Though he died in 1827, to many people, Beethoven represents the highest level of musical genius.

Indeed the judgement of a man’s greatness is not only to be measured in the mission he accomplishes, but in the obstacles he overcomes in the process. Failure will never overtake you, if your determination to succeed is strong enough. In the journey of life everyone faces challenges. However, in order to succeed, we must first have faith that we can You must have an inner strength and conviction, to keep standing no matter how hard the wind blows. What is pushing you forward has to be stronger than what is pushing against you. Your inner forte of faith must be stronger than the outer winds of doubt.

In Mathew chapter 7, Jesus talks about the house that is built upon the rock. Despite the storm, rain, wind, the house built on the rock, kept standing. That rock is the Word of God. When The Word of God is strong in your heart, you can withstand any challenge. The Word births faith in you that pushes you forward, propelling you to overcome and triumph against all odds. Indeed faith is the victory that overcomes the world. This is why when you have faith, nothing can be impossible to you.

Mark 9;23 says ‘Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.

To succeed, you must have the vision to see and the faith to believe, and the courage to do and the strength to endure. Therefore determine today, that with God’s help,  nothing will ever stop you. Indeed if God be for you, who can be against you?  When you are filled with The Word, God makes your forehead like flint, you become like a rock. And the Scripture says that whosoever falls upon the rock of The Word shall be broken and on whosoever it shall fall, it will grind to powder. So when you are filled with the Word whosoever or whatsoever is coming against you, has just two options; to be broken or to be ground to powder. The Word within you makes you indefatigable. It makes you more than a conqueror. Indeed by the Word you become the winner in all of life’s challenges.

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to continue to press forward, no matter how sometimes hard the journey may seem. Please grant me  a renewed and deep appetite for Your Word, so that strengthened by faith within, I shall continue to stand and never fall in Jesus Name.

APRIL 14;POWER TO FORGIVE

Matthew 5:23-24

“Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.”

In her best-selling autobiography ‘The Hiding Place’, Corrie ten Boom described the chance meeting with her former tormentor.

After Germany invaded the Netherlands in 1940, Jews and members of the Dutch resistance flocked to the home of the ten Boom family for safe harbor, because the ten Booms were devout Christians known for their faith and social outreach in their town of Haarlem,

Between 1943 and 1944 the ten Boom family illegally housed countless refugees and helped them to escape. But on February 28, 1944 a secret informant revealed the family’s operation to the Gestapo, Germany’s secret police. Their home was raided and thirty people, including Corrie, her father, two sisters and brother were taken to prison. Miraculously, the Gestapo failed to find four Jews and two members of the Dutch underground, who were hiding behind a secret wall in Corrie’s bedroom. These would later escape to safety.

The ten Boom family suffered greatly in prison. Corrie lost her father, brother and sister. However, months later Corrie was released from prison due to a clerical error. She would later find out that a week after she left, the rest of the women in her age group were all executed.

After the war Corrie ten Boom returned to her home in the Netherlands and established a rehabilitation center for postwar refugees. However, Corrie’s faith was put to the ultimate test in 1947 when she happened to meet one of the prison guards who had tormented her and her sister in prison.

It was in a church in Munich where she had gone to preach that she saw him. Seeing him suddenly brought back very painful memories. But the former guard walked up to her and told her he had become a Christian after the war and asked for her forgiveness. As terrible as she felt, she grabbed his hand and with tears in her eyes told him she had forgiven him. Afterwards she said she never felt God’s love so intensely as she did then. Corrie ten Boom died on her 91st birthday on April 15, 1983. According to Jewish tradition, only special souls are chosen to die on their birthday.

Forgiveness is one of the most important lessons one must learn in life.

Matthew 5:23-24 says  “Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.”

Jesus says clearly in the Bible that offenses will come. But we must always remember that it does not really matter why someone has chosen to hurt us. What really matters is that we recognize that forgiveness is a necessity.

Unforgiveness is life-destroying. It is the root of many terminal illnesses. And in medical books unforgiveness is listed as a disease.

Forgiveness has less to do with the guilty person’s reaction to it. It’s about obeying God’s instruction to forgive. It is also a decision not to allow yourself to be victimized twice by giving the pain room to continue to operate in your life and affect you.

The forgiving process means letting go and leaving all judgment to God.

Romans 12:20 says  “If; your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.”

Obey God’s instruction to love your enemies and leave the judgment to Him. No matter where you are in life, no matter what you have done in the past, or what someone else has done to you, Jesus is able to wipe the slate clean. He is able to heal, make us whole and cause His peace to flow like a river through our hearts.

PRAYER: Lord, please wherever there is still any root of bitterness or anger in my life, please uproot it and fill my heart rather with your peace and joy. May your love constantly flow through me  and cause me  to live as a reflection of Christ in Jesus Name.

APRIL 13; FOCUS ON SEEKING GOD FIRST

Matthew 6:33 KJV

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

DAILY READING          •              2 Corinthians 8; 2 Kings 20-21; Nahum 2

The human mind is often filled with distracting thoughts. The mind is like a butterfly that flies from one flower to another, never standing still. Experts estimate that human beings think between 50,000- 70,000 thoughts a day . That’s an average of 2500 – 3,300 thoughts per hour. That’s incredible. 95% of these thoughts are repetitive of previous days and 80% of the habitual thoughts are negative. If you pay attention to these thoughts, you would be amazed to discover that most of them are useless, unimportant thoughts that pass through the mind with a huge speed. These are words you repeat in your mind, comments the mind makes, repeating what you heard said, questions, answers and a lot of senseless wandering thoughts that you might not even be aware of. An inner dialogue is going on all the time. In normal, daily life, you might not always be aware of this endless thinking. Most of this thinking is an automatic process, a mental habit. It is only when you need to focus on some particular thing that you become aware of the many thoughts that keep distracting your focus and attracting your attention. One of the most important ways of combating negative thoughts is to understand how critical the quality of your thinking is because our destiny is consistently shaped by our thoughts.

Proverbs 23;7 says /For as he thinketh in his heartso is he:/

The truth is that what we focus on is eventually what we attract into our lives. You need to take control of your mind by filling your heart with The Word of God, so that God’s thoughts alone dominate your thoughts.

We have only a certain amount of energy for each day, and if we use it for the wrong purpose it will only be a waste. If we focus our thoughts on negative things then we’re not going to have the energy we need for the right purposes. For instance do you know that it takes a lot of  energy  to be bitter or to hold a grudge?  As much as you may want to, you can’t control what other people say or do; you can only control yourself. So focus your mind on the important things, on fulfilling your God given assignment and moving forward in life. On your journey to greatness you must keep your mind properly focused. When you have the right focus you gain power to create amazing impact.

Jesus was focused on His assignment, while He was on the earth. When the Jews  came to make Him king He refused, because for Him it was a distraction, rather He was focused on His mission. His impact is still speaking powerfully more than 2000 years after.

Lets learn to focus our lives on what really matters. And concerning our lives, Jesus said one thing is needful to do and that is sitting down and hearing His Word as Mary did. When you seek the Kingdom of God first, then everything other thing indeed will be added unto you.

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to be focused on what is truly important, help me to weed out every distracting thought and only focus on seeking your kingdom first at all times in Jesus Name

APRIL 12; BLESSING THE LORD AT ALL TIMES

Psalm 34:1 ‘I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth..

The story is often told of an old century king who went on a hunting game with his friend, who was a Christian. While trying to shoot an arrow, the king deeply wounded himself and his thumb came off. His friend said, “Praise God because He’s in control.” The king was furious with  his friend for praising God, when he was wounded.. And so he threw his friend into prison. Shortly after that, the king went hunting with some friends in another land, somehow he became lost and found himself alone in a vicinity he had never been before. Suddenly he was surrounded by cannibals. They had tied him up and were ready to cook him when they saw his hand with no thumb.  Because of this defect he was seen as being imperfect and so they decided not to cook him, but rather released him.

On his return to his own country, the king went back to his friend and apologized, saying “You were right. Not having a thumb saved my life.”.  His friend replied  “Praise God that you put me in prison and did not take me along.’ “How can you praise God?” the king asked. The friend replied “If I hadn’t been in prison I would have been hunting with you, and perhaps we would have gotten lost together, and look, I have two thumbs. I would have been cooked”

Obviously in this illustration, the King’s friend chose to praise God at all times. No matter what happened, he saw God working everything together for his good. And indeed that is how we should view challenges. In everything, in every situation, we must learn to give glory to God. As long as you glorify God, He will cause all things to work in your favor.

Psalm 34:1 says ‘I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth’.

Especially in this year, we must choose to bless The LORD at all times, giving Him glory in every situation. Prophesies cannot be fulfilled in a depressed state and so to see a manifestation of this year’s prophecy of glory, we must be ready to continually engage the weapon of praise. Indeed to enforce our harvest and experience a forceful turnaround, we must choose to bless God continually.

Remember, praise is the birth position. When you praise, dreams come to  pass and prophecies are fulfilled. When you praise, supernatural doors open. When you praise, chains are broken.

In every situation, you can praise your way to victory. When we turn up our praise, like Hezekiah, we are going to see an increase in our years and Like Jonah, we are going to break out of every fish belly of limitation and bondage and fulfill God’s call. Like Joshua, every Jericho wall of resistance will come tumbling down and we will march into our Promised Land.

It doesn’t matter how big that obstacle is, through praise, you can have the victory.   If you’ll dig your heels in and refuse to complain but rather, offer up a sacrifice of praise, God will show up for your rescue.

Indeed it is your year to see beauty for ashes. And if you will only keep judging God faithful in every situation He will cause every challenge to culminate in glory for you.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for causing me to experience a ‘fearful’ fulfillment of every prophetic word concerning me this year. I chose to praise You at all times,  knowing that indeed You are causing all things to work together for my good in Jesus Name.

APRIL 11; PATH OF FLOURISHING

Isaiah 48:17

‘Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.’

 DAILY READING –  2 Corinthians 5:11-6:13; 2 Kings 18; Micah 7

Among the richest people in America today, are two devoted Christians from Korea; Jin Sook and her husband Do Won Chang. They rank No. 79 on the list of the 400 richest Americans. They are the founders of the fashion retail outlet: “Forever 21”.   In 1981 they migrated to America from Korea to look for a better life. However when they arrived in America they found life rather to be tough. Do Won held three jobs to survive, doing janitorial work, pumping gas and working in a coffee shop.

His wife Jin Sook, who was raised in a Christian family knew that God was the answer to their breakthrough. And so she decided to go to the top of a mountain to pray and seek God’s face. In the time of prayer, she sensed that God was leading her to open a fashion retail store.  And so with that conviction, she and her husband soon opened their first clothing store in 1984.

As they remained faithful in seeking God first, their business rapidly expanded.. In no time they became very successful and today ‘Forever 21’ operates 480 stores with an estimated annual turnover of over $3 billion. Jin Sook and Do Won Chang make a point of printing John 3:16 on the bottom of every ‘Forever 21’ shopping bag.

Indeed God is able to supply all our needs when we make Him our top priority. Sometimes we tend to worry and wonder how all our needs will be met, but God says He has not called the sons of Jacob to seek Him in vain. If He can take care of the sparrows, how much more His own children.

The Bible’s principle for wealth is seeking God and His kingdom first. The first and greatest commandment is for us to love God with all our heart, mind and soul. We are not to give a portion of our heart to God, but all of it to Him. It is when God dominates our heart, that He guides us on the right path of life.

Isaiah 48:17 says,  Thus saith the Lord, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go..’

There is a way to go to the city, there is a path that leads to success. It takes God to show us that way. Indeed when God is your Shepherd you can not want, because He leads you to your green pastures, to the colorful destiny preordained for you. Truly except The Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it. And if God is not involved, life’s endeavors become an adventure in futility.

It is wisdom therefore to make God our number one priority in the quest for success.  Whatever our business or career may be, let us use it to serve God. And when we truly seek God first, then every other thing will indeed be added unto us.

PRAYER:

Lord, please help me to always keep my focus on You. Please grant me the grace to submit to the guidance of Your Word in all my endeavors. I know indeed  that as I seek Your kingdom  first , all else shall be added unto me in Jesus’ name.

APRIL 10; POWER TO BREAK EVERY CHAIN

Exodus 12:23

‘For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.’

Edward Salazar Mauricio was a prominent pastor in Mexico. He was known for his far-reaching efforts in preaching the Gospel and winning souls into God’s kingdom. However, what was amazing about him was the fact that he was once a murderer who was meant to have  gone to the electric chair.

As a youth, he killed a man during an armed robbery attack and was poised to face the electric chair in Texas, a state that often wields the sword of justice with finality. By God’s grace, he received a life sentence instead. However, he hated and even viciously attacked Christians who attempted to witness to him in his prison cell. Despite this hatred for Christians, during his somewhat frequent trips to solitary confinement, the guards often left a Bible in his cell. He started reading the Bible to pass the time, but little did he realize that God, in His great love, was slowly planting His Word in his heart.

Years later, in 1978, he attended a prison evangelistic meeting for the first time, where a minister preached on Saul of Tarsus persecuting Christians and about his subsequent conversion. After leaving the meeting Edward went to his prison cell, got on his knees, and asked God to forgive Him and surrendered his life to Christ. Four years later, by God’s grace, he received a reprieve.  He was paroled and soon released.  He became a committed Christian, who eventually became a minister of the Gospel, preaching in many nations of the world.

It is indeed amazing how God could take a murderer and turn him into a missionary. But that is what the transformation power of the blood of Jesus can do. By the power in the blood, the yoke of a criminal lifestyle was broken in Edward Mauricio’s life and he became a new man.

Likewise, it doesn’t matter how long a man may have been in any bondage, once he encounters the power in the blood of Jesus, deliverance is immediate.

Zechariah 9:11-12 says ‘As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water.’

There is no pit so deep, that the blood cannot pull a man out of it. There is no yoke so strong that the blood of Jesus cannot break it. There is no bondage so thick that the blood cannot destroy it. The blood is able to destroy every captivity in your life. Every evil habit, secret sin or bondage the enemy has tried to ensnare you with can be broken off you by the power of the blood of Jesus. The Bible records that after the mystery of the blood was applied in Egypt, the siege of captivity over the Israelites was broken. Therefore any battle the enemy has arraigned against you can be destroyed through the invocation of the blood of Jesus.

Revelation 12:11 says ‘And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death’

Indeed we can overcome any situation through the power in the Blood. There is wonder-working power in the blood to break every chain of captivity in anyone’s life. No matter how long you may have been held in any bondage, your deliverance can be secured today through The Blood. Indeed through the power in the Blood of Jesus, we have been redeemed  from every curse of the law to enjoy every blessing of grace.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for the power in the blood of Jesus. Indeed today, by the blood I have victory over everything contesting my glorious destiny in Jesus Name

APRIL 9; FROM BROKENNESS TO BREAKTHROUGH

John 12:24 ‘Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.’

DAILY READING; 2 Corinthians 2:5-3:18; 2 Kings 15-16; Micah 5:2-15

Breaking a horse is the practice of training it to be ridden. This process is also referred to as saddle breaking. It involves teaching the young horse to accept a saddle, a bridle and the weight of the rider on its back. It also involves teaching a young horse how to steer, stop and respond to cues on command when they are given using the reins, leg, and seat.

A wild stallion being ridden for the first time doesn’t want to submit to the rider or do what it’s told. And anyone who tries to ride it will only get thrown off its back. Therefore a cowboy knows that he cannot just toss a saddle on the back of a wild horse and try to ride it. He first has to follow a process used to break a horse to prepare it to be ridden. For days, he may lead the horse around a pen as it adjusts to the feel of the harness and its new surroundings. Then the saddle is placed on the horse’s back but without a rider. Finally, the cowboy puts a foot in one of the stirrups. When the cowboy climbs into the saddle, the initial shock of having someone on its back is frightening and irritating to the horse. It might buck and rear its head before it begins to settle and trot around its pen.  And so gradually, the horse is prepared to begin a lifetime of service to its owner.

Horses that are labeled unbroken are those that no one ever got around to training. Unbroken horses are unsubmissive and cannot be ridden. An adult horse that is not broken has relatively little value and is considered undesirable by most horse owners. Only horses that have been broken are considered to have value and great worth.

Likewise, we are of great value to God when we become broken. When God begins to work in our lives, one of the first things He does is to  bring us to a place of brokenness where we become totally submissive to His will. He doesn’t immediately toss a saddle on our back, rather He works with a plan and goal and bit by bit, inch by inch, He trains us to live a life that glorifies Him. Through preordained circumstances and situations, He brings us to the place of total surrender to His will.

We are not useful or fruitful until we have become broken and dead to the flesh.

John 12:24  says  ‘Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit..’

The place of brokenness is a prerequisite for stepping into the fullness of our destiny. It is in the places of brokenness that we really grow.  Indeed there are certain heights you can never achieve in life until you have become humble enough to be entrusted with them. It is he that humbles himself that is exalted. Brokenness puts us on the road to our breakthrough. Let us therefore learn to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God that He may exalt us in due season.

PRAYER: Lord, please destroy in me hardness of heart and everything that causes me to be unbroken. Please help me to surrender totally to Your will in every area of my life in Jesus Name.

APRIL 8; BUILDING ON A STRONG FOUNDATION

Luke 6:48 KJV

‘He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock

DAILY READING  2 Corinthians 1:1-2:4; 2 Kings 14; Micah 4:1-5:1

The world’s largest, seismically isolated building, is the new international terminal at Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen Airport.
It is believed by engineers that an earthquake cannot destroy this building. This is considered a great development because geologists believe that there will be major quakes within the next few decades in Istanbul. In fact, the need for the seismically isolated building arose after a massive, 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck Turkey in 1999, killing about 17,000 people and destroying billions of dollars worth of property.
In the aftermath of these quakes, the airport was built as a structure that will not be rocked by an earthquake.
Stretching across more than 2 million square feet, the terminal doesn’t sit directly on the soil, but rather on more than 300 isolators and bearings, that can move side-to-side during an earthquake. The whole building moves as a single unit, which prevents damage from uneven forces acting on the structure.
The secret of the building’s stability is in its strong foundation.
Likewise, the secret of our surviving the storms of life will depend on the strength of our spiritual foundation. Apart from physical earthquakes, there are spiritual earthquakes that come to rock a man’s life. Jesus spoke about the storms, wind, and rain that often come to test the strength of one’s spiritual foundation.
The question is, what provisions have we made to be sure we will not be rocked by the earthquakes of life. One sure thing we can do is laying our foundation upon the rock of God’s written Word. When we build our lives on the strong foundation of The Word, we will never fall.
A great portion of the cost, time and efforts of the overall construction process, focuses on the foundation. If you don’t get the foundation right, things will only keep getting worse. In engineering, it is known as compounding defects and it means that mistakes keep growing.
Psalm 11:3 says ‘If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?’
Indeed we must build on the strong foundation of God’s Word because the structure of our lives depends on it.!The more rooted and grounded we are in the Word, the higher and stronger we will go in God.

PRAYER: Lord please help me to build my life upon the solid foundation of Your Word. Please cause my heart to be constantly rooted in Your truth, so as to make me unshakeable in the face of every storm in Jesus Name.
