JANUARY 15; ENGAGING THE BLOOD WEAPON…

Revelation 12:11 – ‘And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.‘

DAILY READING Acts 16:16-40; Judges 4-5; Job 35

The level of sophistication of weapons employed in warfare often makes the big difference. Technological advancements achieved during World War II made it far different from any war that came before it. New methods of fighting were used in this war, including large-scale artillery barrages, advanced air combat, and oceans littered with massive fleets battling for naval supremacy. One of the weapons that really made the Allied forces to prevail over Hitler’s army was the use of bomber planes called the B-17 Flying Fortress. This massive plane featured multiple machine guns and could carry nearly 10,000 pounds of bombs.
Though the planes were large and heavily armored, they had a top speed of over 280 miles per hour, which made them fast during an attack.
Their capacity for destruction grew as the war dragged on; around 640,000 tons of bombs were eventually dropped on Nazi Germany by these planes. Indeed the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress gave the Allies a distinct advantage that helped them to win the war.

Likewise in spiritual battles, superior weapons of warfare enable us win.. And the Bible says God has given us weapons of warfare which are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. These are spiritual weaponry that are incomparably superior to what the enemy has.

And one very significant weapon is the Blood of Jesus. In spiritual warfare, the blood can be likened to a weapon of mass destruction. It is one thing no enemy can ever resist or counter. We engage the mystery of the blood covenant in prayers through “pleading the Blood” or “invoking the power in the Blood.” The moment we begin to invoke the blood of Jesus, immediate devastation is sent into the camp of the enemy.
Nothing seemed to stop Pharoah until the mystery of the blood was called forth.

As the mystery of the blood was applied, God went through Egypt that night and brought judgment upon the gods of Egypt. That very night the siege of captivity over the Israelites was immediately broken and they were set free from centuries of bondage and captivity.

Revelation 12:11 says ‘And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.‘

Indeed we are overcomers through the Blood of Jesus. Perhaps you have been praying about a situation without results; now it is time to invoke the mystery of the blood. Whatever has been trying to hold you bound, it is time to begin to release the blood against it. The blood is an irresistible weapon against the enemy, and as we engage it in spiritual warfare in this season of prayer, indeed our deliverance from all assaults of the wicked is assured.

PRAYER: Father, I thank You for the weapon of the blood of Jesus. Through the power in the Blood, I declare my victory today over every plan of the wicked in Jesus’ Name.

JANUARY 14; HAND OVER THE BATTLE TO GOD..

Deuteronomy 28:7 – ‘The LORD will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.’

DAILY READING –Acts 16:1-15; Judges 2-3; Job 34

A kibbutz is a large group of farmers living together, or a collective community in Israel. During the Independence War, one of Israel’s oldest kibbutz was suddenly attacked by Syrian forces, with two hundred armored Syrian vehicles including forty-five tanks. About seventy Israeli farmers living in this community, who were not regular soldiers, had no weapons with which to defend themselves. However, they decided they wouldn’t go down without a fight. Though the Israelis were incredibly low on weapons, they quickly assembled two ancient French cannons that they had and began to use them against the Syrians’ more modern and better equipped cannons and mortars.
This minimal Israeli force also began to throw molotov cocktails at the Syrians. Surprisingly, an Israeli man made a direct hit on an approaching Syrian tank. As the tank burst into flames, suddenly the entire Syrian column turned around and began to flee, possibly believing that the Israelis had a large multitude of anti-tank weapons. The use of Israel’s little artillery took the Syrians by great surprise, and so they fled without knowing that they had the greater weapons and that those Israeli famers had virtually no weapons. This, of course, was a miracle, and so the Kibbutz was preserved.
Deuteronomy 28:7 says, ‘The LORD will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.’
Indeed, when God arises for our help, no matter how greater our enemies may appear, our victory is always assured.
In Isaiah 37, King Hezekiah was being attacked the Assyrian army greater than his own army. The Assyrian king had sent a blasphemous message that had thrown King Hezekiah into great distress of mind and profound dismay. And so Hezekiah went into the temple and spread the letter before God. Faced with an enemy and situation he could not handle, he cried out to God for help. In answer, God sent an angel that went into the camp of the Assyrians and killed 185,000 soldiers overnight. When the Assyrians arose early the next morning, behold, there were many dead bodies. The remaining soldiers fled. Later on, the king of Assyria himself was also killed, bringing to an end all his threats and oppression against King Hezekiah and his people.
Today, a king of Assyria may be threatening you in your finances, health, marriage, etc. But understand that the same God is available to deliver you. Just like Hezekiah did, take that matter confronting you to God in prayer and trust Him to show up for your deliverance. Prayer triggers the intervention of the Omnipotent God. As you pray, God is able to release an angel that will go into the camp of your enemies and totally devastate them. It doesn’t matter how mighty the forces against you or how intimidating the situation, God is able to give you the victory. God is not limited in how He can save: He can save by few or by many. He can use the most unlikely and the least expected sources to secure your deliverance. We just need to continue to trust in Him and let Him handle our battles.
God says in Isaiah 54:15, ‘Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.’
Indeed, every spiritual gang-up against you will surely fall for your sake. Understand that there is no situation that comes against you today that cannot be handled with prayers. And in this season, as we continue to cry out at the prayer altar, let’s be assured that God is already visiting our matter and devastating every gathering of the Assyrians in Jesus’ Name.
PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for arising for my deliverance and devastating every gang-up of the wicked against me. Thank You, Lord, for continually giving me the victory and making me a conqueror in every battle of life in Jesus’ Name.

The battle you are faced with today is a good warfare because God has already fore-ordained a victorious end for you.

JANUARY 13; THE HIDDEN SEASON.

Galatians 6:9 – “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

DAILY READING Acts 15:22-41, Judges 1, Job 33

The Chinese Bamboo tree is one of the most unique and amazing plants in the world. It doesn’t grow in the typical fashion of other trees. Once planted, one must water, feed and nurture the seed every day, for four years. Yet for those four years there is no evidence of growth, no evidence of life. For four years, it seems like one is totally wasting efforts because there is no sign a tree was planted in the soil. But during those first four years, this bamboo tree is actually growing a very strong, deep and extensive root system below the surface of the ground. This extensive root system is necessary to sustain the life of this amazing tree. This growth cannot be seen with the naked eye, but one who understands this unique plant knows exactly what is happening. Though the farmer cannot see it, he knows the seed is growing. And so he keeps watering and providing sunlight to it because he understands if he stops, this plant will die.

After four years of seeming inactivity, in the fifth year, an amazing thing happens. The tree finally breaks through the surface of the ground, and in the space of five weeks grows to an astounding height of 90 feet. It is as if the tree grows right before a person’s eyes.

This amazing growth of the Chinese Bamboo tree can be likened to our hidden season of prayer. Sometimes as we persevere in the secret place of prayer, it may seem as if outwardly nothing is happening. But we must understand that the ministry of prayer is a walk of faith. We continue to trust God even when we cannot trace Him. We continue to push, knowing that though we may not yet see it, something is happening just beneath the surface. And whatever is happening beneath the surface is a necessary part of the manifestation we desire. Our faith in God gives us the patience to keep watching and waiting until our answer comes.

The truth is that every endeavor that will succeed, must first start in the spirit realm with prayer as the foundation. Whatever it is we are called to do, we must first establish it in the spirit through prayer, before it manifests physically. Many endeavors fail because people ignore the necessity of a spiritual foundation. Whatever you are embarking upon, you require prayer investment at its foundational stage. Keep sowing the seed of prayer, even when you may not see an immediate result. It is only a matter of time.

Galatians 6:9 says “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

There is a due season for our reaping. And as we keep watering our desire in this season of prayer, God will indeed be working out everything for our good. And if we do not grow weary or give up, soon we will reap an amazing outward manifestation of our desired miracles, signs and wonders.

PRAYER: Lord, please help me never to grow weary in well doing. Please strengthen me to continue to pay the required price of prayer. I thank You Lord for the soon manifestation of my desired answers in Jesus’ name.

JANUARY 12; NO FOUNDATION, NO HEIGHT..

Matthew 7:24-25 ‘Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock

DAILY READING – Acts 15:1-21; Joshua 23-24; Job 32

The The Burj Khalifa is not only the tallest building in the world, it’s also home to the highest observation deck, swimming pool, elevator, restaurant, and fountain in the world. The Burj Khalifa which opened in Dubai January 4, 2010, is a staggering 2,717 feet tall, which is more than half a mile high. It stands double the height of the renowned Empire State Building and easily overshadows the previous world’s tallest building, Taipei in Taiwan which is but 1,671 feet tall. It uses an acrophobia inducing elevator, which travels at speeds roughly 40 miles per hour (65 kilometers per hour) and is able to reach the top of the building in about 2 minutes.

While most attention focuses on its height, however much more important is its foundation. It took a whole year just to build the foundation, which extends 164 feet deep and lies on 58,900 cubic yards of concrete weighing over 120,000 tons! Such deep, strong foundation is needed to carry such great height.

The truth is that to build high, you must first dig deep. You must have a solid foundation if you’re going to have a strong superstructure. So it is with our lives. We cannot be thinking of rising to great heights in life, without first laying a strong and deep spiritual foundation. Foundation begins everything.  A solid foundation will guarantee a glorious future. One thing is sure the depth of your foundation will determine the height at which you will scale in life. No foundation No height.

For our lives to be truly unshakable, we must be held by the strong foundation of the Word of God and prayers.

In Matthew 7:24-25 Jesus said, “Everyone who hears these words of Mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock”.

The depth of your spiritual foundation will ensure you are not torn apart when storms strike. The stream, rain, wind, in the parable of Jesus represents the storms of life. Life is full of such storms. Troubles and challenges will often come unexpectedly to test our foundations. A man will stand or fall based on his depth in the Word of God and commitment to a fervent prayer life.

Anyone who pursues success, without first ensuring a deep spiritual depth runs a great risk. Success attracts enemies. All that great success, can suddenly come toppling down by one spiritual attack. It is our spiritual depths that sustain the heights we attain in life. And if the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? [The  Psalms 11].

For us to see the glory of God this year, we must pay serious attention to our spiritual life. To stand in the face of any challenge, we must build our lives upon the strong foundation of the Word of God and fervent prayers, so that no matter what comes our way, we will never fall.

PRAYER: Lord, Thank You for fresh fire on my prayer altar and renewed appetite for Your Word. Please help me to build my life on the strong foundation of Your Word, so that no matter what comes my way I will always stand in Jesus Name.

JANUARY 11; CONNECT TO DIVINE WISDOM..

Isaiah 48:17  ‘Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, the holy one of Israel; I am the lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.

DAILY READING – – DAILY READING   Acts 14; Joshua 22; Job 31

‘Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story’ is a 2009 biographical television drama film based on the autobiography of neurosurgeon  Ben Carson.

In 1987, Dr. Ben Carson was faced with the surgery of twins co-joined at the back of their heads. It was going to be a very difficult surgery attempting to separate such Siamese twins joined at the head. Such a surgery had never been done successfully before, because the patients would often bleed to death. Though the young neurosurgeon Ben Carson, believed he might be able to successfully separate them, he also realized that he risked losing one or both of the twins in the surgery. But despite the risk, Ben Carson who is a Christian believed God would divinely help him.

Through prayers he turned to God for help in solving this medical puzzle. One day while watching water drip from a tap’s mouth, he caught an inspiration on how to develop a method to stop blood flow during surgery. When the time for the surgery came and, he applied this method, the surgery was successful. The twins did not bleed to death, they survived. It was a medical breakthrough that launched Ben Carson into international limelight and sudden fame for accomplishing what no other doctor had done before.

Job 32:8 says. ‘But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.’

Indeed it takes the inspiration of the almighty to elevate a man. The wisdom of God will always make a difference in a man’s life. No matter how educated a man may be, his wisdom will always be limited until he connects to divine wisdom from God. Certainly it takes God to teach us how to profit in life, and it takes Him to lead us for us to know the right way to go. But that will happen when we seek Him through prayers. Prayer truly does change things.

Many of the inventions that have taken place today are because of the inspiration men received from God. You cannot go far in life depending on your own wisdom. It is the wisdom of God that makes stars of men. No one gets far with common sense, you need extra ordinary sense to get ahead. Just one word from God is enough to cause your generation to celebrate you.

Promotion does not come from the east, west or south, but promotion comes from God alone. In the scriptures, we see Joseph a prisoner become a prime minister, David a shepherd boy become a king and Esther a slave girl become a queen. God has not changed and is still showing us today that partnership with Him works. Truly  God is able to turn impossibilities into possibilities. But that will happen when we come to Him in prayers.

God has given us the Holy Spirit to help us navigate the course of life. It is by His help that we can find a way out of every tight corner. The manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. We profit by the divine guidance He gives. Through prayer He grants us divine wisdom and leads us to our ordained place. Let us therefore make seeking God priority in our life’s adventure. It takes His grace and guidance to succeed in life.  And as we seek first the kingdom of God, surely every other thing shall be added unto us. Don’t waste your time running after things, make God your priority, and other things will follow, including success.

As we seek God’s face in this season of prayers what God did for Joseph, David, Esther, and for Ben Carson, He will surely do for us. He will turn around every negative situation and change every impossibility to possibilities for us in Jesus Name.

PRAYER: Lord, help me through prayers to connect to your wisdom so that I can be a wonder to my world. Help me to continue to seek Your kingdom first at all times so  that what you have ordained for my life and destiny, can come  into full manifestation,  in Jesus Name. .

JANUARY 10; PRAISE IN THE STORM..

1 Peter 4:12-13 ‘Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.’

DAILY READING – Acts 13:26-52; Joshua 20-21; Job 30

On December 29, 1987, a Soviet cosmonaut returned to the earth after 326 days in orbit. He was in good health, which hasn’t always been the case in other record-breaking voyages. Five years earlier, touching down after 211 days in space, two cosmonauts suffered from dizziness, high pulse rates, and heart palpitations. They couldn’t walk for a week, and after 30 days, they were still undergoing therapy for atrophied muscles and weakened hearts. What had caused this was that, in outer space and at zero gravity, the muscles of the body would often begin to waste away because of lack of resistance.

When this was discovered, to counteract it, the Soviet scientists prescribed a vigorous exercise program for the cosmonauts. They invented the “penguin suit,” a running suit laced with elastic bands. It resists every move the cosmonauts make, forcing them to exert their strength. Apparently the regimen is working.

During the time when these astronauts were not exercising, their muscles were wasting away and their bodies were gradually being destroyed. But when resistance was introduced their muscles became stronger and their health improved.

What this teaches us is that resistance makes one stronger. In life, we all face challenges, difficulties, and times when things don’t go as planned. God doesn’t send these storms, but He rather uses these struggles to help us grow and develop. The truth is that the trials and pressures of life–and how we face them–often define us. While change is inevitable in life, growth is optional. It is your choice to grow through adversity or you can choose to groan and give up. But giving up when adversity threatens can make a person bitter, while persevering through prayers makes one better. The way you respond in adversity shows your readiness for your next level.
We can sucessfully overcome adverse situations through the spiritual exercise of prayer and fasting. Prayer and fasting may not seem palatable initially, but as we press on, strenght is being built in us. Some of us may want an easy life of no difficulties and no challenges, but the truth is that our strength grows through adversities. Great trees, do not grow with ease, the stronger the wind the stronger the trees.

Difficulties drive us to our knees in prayers, but in the prayer closet our spiritual muscles are developed. Some of the storms that came your way are the reason why you are able to pray well today. Facing tough situations move us from weaklings to warriors. And as we become spiritually stronger, we are able to overcome other adversities as well.

Indeed God knows how to cause the winds of adversity, instead of blowing you backwards, to blow you forward, to a place of greater blessing. This is why in the face of difficult situations instead of becoming bitter, or complaining, we rather switch to praise. We praise God because we know He is at work. Something good is coming out of the struggle. There is a seed of triumph in that adversity. And after you have been tried you shall come forth as gold.
1 Peter 4:12-13 says ‘Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.’

As we partake of Christ’s sufferings through perseverance in prayers, glory will soon be revealed in us. God will cause every storm to serve His divine purpose in your life. Maybe you are having difficulties in your finances, health , marriage, family or even facing a legal situation, but never forget, the destiny in you is greater than the storm around you! If you will stay in faith, remain fervent in prayers and keep confessing God’s Word, what the enemy meant for evil, God will use it to move you forward. And when it is over you will come out better, stronger, and greater than you could ever have imagined.

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to become addicted to Your Word, so that as I study daily, faith will continue to arise in my heart to overcome every challenge that comes my way in Jesus Name

JANUARY 9; PERSIST TILL YOU RECEIVE!

Psalm 30:5 – ‘Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.’

DAILY READING – • Acts 13:1-25; Joshua 18-19; Job 29

Recently, the Christian Broadcasting Network [CBN] featured the story of an amazing miracle that came as an answer to prayer. In September 2012, 38-year-old Marjorie was told by her doctors that she needed surgery to remove cancer in parts of her right lung. This devastating news made Marjorie and her husband to immediately resort to prayers. However, to their dismay, it was further discovered that she had bone cancer, a rare and aggressive type for which there was no treatment protocol. The oncologist’s best guess was high doses of radiation followed by intense chemo. The treatment was so intense the doctors warned that she might not survive it. At that point Marjorie almost gave up hope, believing her life was over. However, though her chances of survival were slim, she made the choice to fight the fight of faith. She held on to God’s Word and continued to pray for a miracle. While on admission at the hospital, Marjorie kept praying, listening to scriptures, and doing everything she could to stay encouraged.
When the daily radiation regimen started, it made her grow weaker every day. And after one round of chemo, Marjorie had a bad reaction that rendered her unconscious, and nearly comatose. However, at that point Marjorie had a divine visitation. A zap of energy went through her body, like electricity. Knowing that God had divinely healed her, she sat up in bed and began to declare that she was healed.
Against the doctor’s advice, Marjorie and her husband decided to stop treatment. Despite the oncologist’s warning that she would be dead within six months, the couple went home, holding on to their faith. Three months later, Marjorie went for her first cancer check-up and it came up negative. And every test she has done ever since has been negative. Years later, she has remained cancer-free, and today Marjorie goes about sharing on the power of prayer and how God can heal.
Psalm 30:5 says, ‘Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.’
Prayer sometimes can be likened to a stonecutter hammering at a rock. He may hit that rock a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it, but as he persists without giving up, suddenly one blow will split the rock in two. Of course, it was not the last blow that did it, but the accumulation of all the blows. Persistence indeed breaks down resistance. We must learn to persist in the place of prayer.
When Marjorie initially began to pray and her condition only seemed to worsen, she could have given up and accepted the doctor’s verdict. But she pressed on until her answer came.
Perhaps you too have been praying about a situation that seems not to be getting better, but despite the weeping that has endured, surely your Joy is coming. No night can be so dark as to stop the morning from breaking forth. Though it may have looked as if nothing is happening, understand that God is indeed at work. Keep hitting at that situation in your prayer closet; an answer is coming. When Daniel prayed for 21 days, what he did not know was that from the first day he began to pray, an angel was dispatched on his behalf. Likewise, the moment you began to pray, angelic activities were activated. Though you may not see it yet, a lot has been happening spiritually. The ground may be still, but the earth is rotating.
God is indeed working behind the scenes. His ears are open to the cry of the righteous. Secure His attention by praying according to His will. Prayers based on what is written in God’s Word will receive Heaven’s priority treatment.
And as you persist in prayers, what is written will begin to control what is happening. No matter how dark your night, it will surely break forth into your morning. Weeping may have endured, but now your joy is coming. You will not be defeated; you will not be overcome.Your strength will be renewed. You shall mount up with wings as eagles and surely ride upon your high places.
PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for Your continual faithfulness and Your Word that never fails. I know You have heard my prayers and my answers are on the way. And no matter how things may appear, I know that You are indeed working it all out for my good, in Jesus’ Name.

JANUARY 8; THE BLOOD AND THE GLORY!

Psalm 63:1-2 – ‘O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.‘

DAILY READING – Acts 12; Joshua 15-17; Job 28

The actual location of the biblical ark of covenant today remains uncertain. However, there is a long-standing religious legend that the ark is in Ethiopia. According to the story, the Ark was brought to Ethiopia 3,000 years ago and now resides in the Church of Our Lady Mary of Zion. This story was recently corroborated through a research done by the Bible Archaeology, Search & Exploration (BASE) Institute.
The BASE team said on the organization’s website that they had uncovered compelling evidence that the Ark may really be in a resting place in the remote highlands of ancient Kush — which is modern-day Ethiopia. According to their research, the Ark was taken out of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem during the reign of Manasseh and eventually taken to Ethiopia.
In the church where it is hidden, it is said to be guarded by a single monk, in a room where no one else enters. This monk has a lifelong assignment of guarding the ark until his death, when another monk will then take over.
However, many experts don’t believe what is in Ethiopia is the original ark, but rather a clever replica made some centuries ago. Many Ethiopians do not think so, but believe their nation has been divinely appointed to guard and protect the ark of the covenant.

In contrast, during old testament times, there was never any contention about the authenticity of the ark. The Presence of God was so powerful around the ark that the resultant effects spoke for itself..

Anytime the ark came into the battlefield, the Israelites would roar with joy,, knowing their victory was guaranteed.
When Israel sinned against God and the ark was captured by the Philistines, the ark became a terror in the land of the Philistines. When they put the ark in the house of their god, the idols fell broken before the ark. And as the ark remained among them, the Philistines became so smitten with infirmities that they desperately sought to return the ark back to Israel. When David went out to receive the ark, as it stumbled and Uzzah put forth his hand, he was slain instantly. When David abandoned it in the house of Obed-edom, there was such great manifestation of blessings that David ran to retrieve the ark, and took it back to Jerusalem with celebration. Wherever the ark went, there were signs and wonders and the glory around it could not be hidden.
Likewise when we carry the ark of God’s Presence, there should be such mighty miracles, signs and wonders that men should never be in doubt about His glory in our lives. Through the price of blood that Jesus paid He has paved the way for us to see even greater glory than the Israelites saw. We just need to be rightly positioned through covenant responsibility to carry this weight of glory.
Psalm 63:1-2 says, ‘O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.’
Through longing and thirsting for it, we can see God’s power and glory manifest greatly in our midst. As we pay the required price of prayer, God’s glory will so greatly surround us that there will be no doubt about His Presence in our lives. Indeed when we carry glory, there should be no vain story; only the manifestation of miracles, signs and wonders.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for the price of Blood Jesus paid which has given me access today to experience Your power and glory. Please help me not to miss the glory You have ordained for me this year in Jesus’ Name.

JANUARY 7; THE MANIFESTATION OF POWER!

John 2:11 ‘This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him’
DAILY READING- Acts 11:19-30; Joshua 13-14; Job 27
Smith Wigglesworth, often referred to as ‘the Apostle of Faith,’ was one of the greatest evangelists of the last century. Even as a boy, his life was marked by a deep , hunger for God. He had a great desire to see people come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. After his own conversion at the age of 8 years, his first convert was his mother. When he was about sixteen years he came in contact with the Salvation Army and learned from them the great power behind prayer and fasting.
By the time Smith was about twenty years old, he began to minister to the ragged and hungry children in the city who often came to the dock sheds. He did his best to feed and clothe these children from what money he made as a plumber. He also visited the hospitals and ships and went everywhere preaching. In his hunger to see souls saved, he began praying and fasting all day on Sunday, asking God for converts. As a result, he never saw fewer than fifty people saved each time he ministered. And in his later years thousands would come to faith in Christ through his ministry. Fasting and prayer continued to be a major tool that led to the great manifestation of the power and glory of God in Wigglesworth’s ministry. Many people were raised from the dead and amazing signs and wonders followed his ministry.
Indeed it takes the manifestation of power to see souls come into the kingdom of God. We are not to preach the Gospel with the enticing words of men’s wisdom but by the demonstration of The Spirit and of power.
In John 4:48 Jesus said that except people see signs and wonders they will not believe. Therefore if our desire is to see souls come into God’s kingdom then we must be prepared to pay the price for power. Indeed the manifestation of glory is the manifestation of power.
John 2:11 says ‘This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him’
It was when Jesus manifested His glory by turning the water into wine that His disciples believed on Him. Therefore if our desire is to see glory this year then we must be prepared to pay the price of power. We must truly understand that the kingdom of God is not in words but in power.
Power is not optional and the price for it is non-negotiable. This was why when Jesus taught His disciples how to pray in Matthew chapter 5 He said: …’When thou prayest..’ and ‘when ye fast..’

The use of “When” shows us that every believer is expected to engage in scheduled times of prayer and fasting.
To be successful in life and ministry we must pay this price for power. Certain barriers will not just budge except you engage in prayer and fasting.
When Jesus’ disciples asked Him why they could not cure the lunatic, He said: Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. (Matthew 17:21).
Jesus was saying essentially that they had not yet paid the required price to take delivery of the miracle they wanted to see. Many times why certain doors refuse to open despite all efforts is because the key of fasting has not been applied.
Proverbs 24:10 says ‘If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small’.
Each time a great and effectual door is opened before us, there are often many adversaries. Each new level comes with new devils. We must therefore be prepared to overcome. This year God is set to do great and mighty things with us. We shall be seeing signs and wonders like never before. We shall be moving into greater levels of ministry as we see souls come into God’s kingdom in unprecedented numbers. But power is a great necessity for us to see this happen. We must therefore prepare by building up enough spiritual strength through continually abiding at the prayer altar. And as we put our hands to the plough, by the grace of God our souls shall not draw back. Indeed by God’s help we shall continue to press forward to the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

PRAYER: Lord, please grant me the grace not to grow weary in well doing. Please help me Lord to pay the price to see Your power and Your glory manifest mightily in my life in Jesus Name.

JANUARY 6; PRAYING THE PRICE…

Isaiah 58:6 – ‘Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?’

DAILY READING Acts 11:1-18; Joshua 11-12; Job 26

At the 2012 Olympic Games in London, Gabby Douglas became the first African American in Olympic history to be an individual all-around champion. She also became the first U.S. gymnast to win gold in both the individual all-around and the team competitions at the same Olympics.
However, Gabby Douglas’ journey to stardom was laid on a foundation of God’s Word and constant prayers. On the footage of any of her competitions, you’ll see her lips moving in prayers. In an interview with CBN News,
Gabby said she knew the road to the Olympics would not be an easy one. So she made prayer and Bible study a priority. She said those foundations kept her on track in her most difficult times. A time came when the odds seemed so great that she almost wanted to quit. But she had to rely heavily on her faith, praying fervently and meditating on scriptures. As a result of her spiritual commitment, she became so fired up with faith to succeed that her coach said he could almost see fire in her eyes.. Thereafter, she was able to win in the US Championship that qualified her for the Olympic games in London. Though she had a lot of doubters, who said she could never win gold, Gabby continued to rely on God’s help to prove them wrong. As the competition unfolded, to many people’s surprise, Gabby did not only clinch the gold but also made Olympic history.
Today, Gabby’s achievements has turned her into an athletic celebrity, but she believes it has all been made possible by God’s grace released through prayers.

Though achieving Olympic gold had seemed like an impossibility, through prayers Gabby Douglas engaged divine help. Indeed God specializes in doing the impossible. But that will happen when we embrace the required spiritual responsibility. Nothing of value is free. There is indeed a price to pay for us to achieve our desired results..
This year, great prophecies have gone forth concerning us, but we have to pay the price of spiritual warfare to see their manifestations.

1 Timothy 1:18 says, ‘This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare.’
We do not wait for prophecies; we war with them. Actually, if you wait, you may waste. You have to fight your way into the fulfillment of the prophecies spoken over you. You have to fight the good fight of faith to enforce a change in your situation.
God has called us unto glory and virtue, and not to shame. You are a candidate for a glorious life. Therefore, anything that does not look like glory around you has to be dislodged through fervent spiritual warfare.
And one key price we pay to see the manifestation of glory is fasting and prayer.
Isaiah 58:6, 8 says, ‘Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily…the glory of the LORD shall be thy rearward.’
When we pay the price of fasting, the resultant effect is glory.
When Jesus paid the price of fasting at the beginning of His earthly ministry, Luke 4:14 says He “returned in the power of the Spirit” and His fame spread abroad.
Fasting may seem unpalatable but it is a necessary cost for glory. Certain barriers may not be broken except by fasting and prayer. Jesus said some kinds do not go out except by fasting and prayer. Certain forces holding you bound may never give up except by prayer and fasting. May we therefore receive the grace not to sell off our birthright of glory to a morsel of meat like Esau did. This year, by God’s grace, our story must change for the better.
With God’s help, nothing you imagine for your life will be impossible. Has God not said that to him that believes nothing shall be impossible? Therefore, do not limit what God can do in your life by limiting your spiritual responsibility. In this season as we pray the price, we shall indeed see the glory of God manifested like never before in our midst in Jesus Name.
PRAYER
Father, I am grateful that nothing is impossible with You. Thank You for granting me the grace to become spiritually responsible.. Surely, as I pay the price of prayer in this season, I know I shall see Your glory manifested in my life in Jesus’ Name.
