1 John 4:11-12 ‘Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and His love is perfected in us.

The Moravian Brethren, is one of the oldest Protestant denominations in Christianity.
It started in 1722 when a small community of persecuted believers found refuge in the estate of a German nobleman named Count Nikolaus Zinzendorf.
Count Nikolaus, whose heart burned with a passion for Christ allowed them to settle on his lands in the eastern part of modern-day Germany.
As word spread about the community, other persecuted Christians from diverse backgrounds began arriving there
However as this Christian community began to thrive, the enemy caused denominational divisions to arise among them by sending an evil messenger, named Johannes Sigismund Krüger, who preached using the Scriptures, but was actually “a false brother”. His messages were so persuasive and divisive that many were deceived and began fighting each other.
As Krüger’s messages increased in fanaticism, it eventually became
obvious that he was mentally deranged; he was arrested and committed to an asylum in Berlin. But a great deal of damage had already been done.
Saddened by the reports of the spiritual dissension among the Christian believers, Count Zinzendorf worked to bring reconciliation among the brethren.
Many of them became repentant and on May 12th, 1727, they signed an agreement, called the Brotherly Agreement to love each other and dedicate their lives to the service of Jesus Christ.
After this reconciliation as they came to the communion table, the Holy Spirit fell upon them so powerfully and gloriously that no one wanted to leave. Revival broke out among them and for many days they prayed and cried out to God.
After this outpouring of the Holy Spirit, the Lord spoke to Count Zinzendorf from Leviticus 6:13, that the fire should never go out on the altar!
This resulted in an unceasing prayer watch that was held around the clock, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. They launched the prayer movement with 24 men and 24 women, who pledged to “unceasing prayer” for one hour a day.
When the Moravians began these prayers, they had no idea that, under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, this prayer chain would greatly expand and last for the next 100 plus years!
The decision of the Moravian Brethren to abide in love prompted the powerful outpouring of the Spirit that birthed the historical prayer movement.
Today, the spiritual movement of the Moravians has continued to thrive and has spread to various nations of the world.

When believers are in one mind and one accord, the Holy Spirit will flow unhindered and move mightily in their midst.
In Acts 2:1, the Holy Ghost descended upon one hundred and twenty disciples in the Upper Room when they were all with one accord and in one place. And from there broke out the revival that shook the world.
Indeed it takes unity and love for the Spirit to manifest mightily in our midst.
Psalm 133:1 -2 says ‘Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head that ran down upon the beard , even Aaron’s beard..’

Oil of the Spirit and the anointing flows in the place of unity!
Because the Early Church understood that there was power in unity of Spirit and being in one accord, they gave no room for strife in their midst.
In Acts 6, when the enemy tried to bring in confusion over sharing of food, the apostles immediately waded in and stopped the growing division and proclaimed that they would rather give themselves continually to prayer and the ministry of the Word.
One of the devil’s tactics is called ‘divide and rule’.
Oftentimes, he looks for ways to create division amongst people so that it would given him room to rule over their affairs.
Anywhere there is disharmony in marriages, homes, families, Churches, organizations, relationships etc, it opens spiritual doorways for the enemy to bring in oppression and afflictions.
To stop people from receiving their miracles, the enemy breeds strife, hatred and discord, knowing that it hinders the flow of the Spirit.
But we are not ignorant of the devices of the devil. This is why we must continue to love each other under all circumstances. God is love and when we walk in love, we abide in God.
When we love despite offences, faults or wrong doings, it shows that the Holy Spirit dwells in us, because He is the One that sheds abroad the love of God in our hearts. God Himself showed us the perfect example of love; when He sent Jesus to shed His Blood to redeem us, even while we were yet sinners.
As we have freely received God’s love, so also let us freely release to others.
Today, by the power in the Blood of Jesus let us receive the grace to walk in love and unity so that the Spirit will move powerfully in our midst and freely manifest mighty signs and wonders in our lives.

PRAYER: Lord, please enable me to love people as You love them. By the Blood of Jesus, I receive the grace today to shine the light of Your love wherever I go in Jesus Name.

Jonathan Goforth was a pioneer revivalist who became one of the greatest missionaries to China. He survived many dangerous situations through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
One day, in the Chinese village where Jonathan Goforth was serving, an official Chinese courier on a horse, raced past at breakneck speed. A burnt feather waving from his Chinese cap signified that he carried a crucial message of life and death from the Chinese royal family. Later on, Jonathan made every attempt to find out from the Chinese villagers what message the courier had brought. When they refused to tell him, Jonathan sensed danger. He and his wife, Rosalind, made plans to immediately leave the region with their children and coworkers.
They packed hastily intending to leave before sunrise the next morning.
That night they made a plan to follow a route through the capital city, Kaifeng, and from there, they would travel up the river to safety in Shanghai.
However, after the plan had been made, while in bed, Jonathan began to sense a different leading from the Spirit.
He told his wife, “Something is wrong; we need to change our plans. I don’t believe we are to travel south through Kaifeng. We are going to journey southwest instead.”
When his wife protested that it would add more days to their journey, he assured her that he was certain it was God’s will.
Early the following day, they avoided the Capital city and journeyed southwest, following the longer route, until they eventually arrived safely at their destination.
Later on, Jonathan learnt that the Chinese courier that raced through the village had gone to the capital city, Kaifeng with a sealed message from the Chinese Empress instructing the governor of the city to massacre all foreigners in China—without exception!
If Jonathan Goforth had followed the original plan to pass through the capital city, they would all have been killed. But by listening to the Holy Spirit that night, and being sensitive to God’s voice, he led his family and coworkers through a safer path.
Throughout his ministry Jonathan Goforth relied on Zechariah 4:6 which says: “Not by might,
nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.”
Jonathan Goforth was used greatly by God to usher in sweeping revivals in China, and despite the many oppositions he faced, he was able to overcome them by the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

An outstanding characteristic of the sons of God is that they are led by the Spirit of God.
As believers, we have been sent into the world as sheep among wolves.
We live a world where the wicked constantly gnashes his teeth at the righteous, plotting his downfall.
To survive, it is crucial that we constantly depend on the guidance of the Holy Spirit.When we are led by Him, we become untouchable to every adversary. Through the empowerment of the Spirit we will always escape evil traps and never become victims of the wicked.
God has ordained the Holy Spirit to be the custodian of our lives and destinies.
In addition to leading us away from danger, the Holy Spirit also shows us how to thrive despite the trials, tribulations and oppositions in the world.
What the Holy Spirit showed Joseph took him from the prison to the palace overnight. What He showed Daniel made him to be preferred above the other princes, and he became relevant under 3 kings for 65 years.
In the same way, when we submit to the Holy Spirit, He will teach us how to profit and show us the right paths to follow to a glorious destination.
For every believer, life is meant to be an upward journey, and our path is designed to shine brighter and brighter. But if you are not guided, even green pastures can turn to brown pastures.
We therefore need the Holy Spirit to lead us to our next levels of destiny.
For many of us, we have gone round the same mountain long enough, now it is time to turn northward in our journey. Through sensitivity to the Spirit we will know what to do to access new heights of exploits .
Truly, you cannot know greatness until you know guidance!
Let us today, become more determined to acknowledge the Spirit in all our ways, so that He will direct our paths.
Certainly, as we continually follow His guidance, we will abide in safety and arrive at our glorious destinations in life.

PRAYER: Lord, please enable me to always submit to the help and guidance of Your Spirit. Today, I receive the grace for greater spiritual fervency and sensitivity so as to access glorious new heights of destiny in Jesus Name.

Carey Reams was an army engineer during World War II, who was almost killed by a land mine. The explosion had shattered his waist through the pelvis, and broken his neck, and his back.
Sent home, almost half dead, for the next five years Carey underwent forty-one surgeries.
He was repeatedly hospitalized and always used crutches.
By December of 1950, he began suffering repeated hemorrhages. Sensing death was close, he told his doctors he didn’t want to be hospitalized but rather wanted to spend his last Christmas at home with his family.
As Carey waited for death, he heard that Kathryn Kuhlman was going to hold healing services in Pittsburgh.
He realized that getting to a miracle service was his last and only hope. On December 28, 1950, early on a Thursday morning, Carey, all alone, painfully and slowly climbed aboard a bus bound for Pittsburgh. Thirty-six hours later when he arrived at the venue for the service, he received the crushing news that the service ended an hour before. However he learned that in two days time, Kathryn would be at a
Sunday service scheduled for Butler, Pennsylvania.
Totally exhausted and in almost intolerable pain, Carey looked unto God to enable him live long enough to get to the next meeting.
Two days later, on December 31, 1950, Carey, assisted by two strong men, arrived at the venue for the Sunday service. There was no seats left, but a woman who noted his predicament, offered him her seat.
On entering inside, Carey was greatly disappointed to learn that the service that day was not for healing. Kathryn Kuhlman only talked to the audience. Carey watched in dismay as the service eventually came to an end and Kathryn raised her hand to say the benediction.
But just when Carey felt all hope was lost, something amazing happened! Kathryn slowly looked directly in his direction and pointed a finger straight at him. She said, ‘Are you from Florida?’
Carey’s hopes immediately soared as he replied, ‘Yes.’ Then she asked him to stand up, but he said, he couldn’t. She said, firmly, ‘In The Name of Jesus, stand up and look up and walk!”.
At her words, Carey found himself going up the aisle, clutching his crutches. On reaching the front, Miss Kuhlman ordered the crutches to be taken away.
As he dropped the crutches Carey found that new strength entered into him and his legs could successfully bear his weight, also all the pain in his body instantly vanished. When Miss Kuhlman asked him to come up on the platform, Carey didn’t walk, he ran up the staircase to the platform!
Carey Reams who had been helpless and dying, was now totally healed! He couldn’t praise and thank God enough.
The following day, Carey bought a new truck, loaded it with furniture and drove all the way from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Florida. When he walked in to his home without crutches, his family were astounded by his miraculous healing.
Carey soon started a business which thrived greatly and he always sowed gratefully towards the spread of the Gospel.
Carey’s story is captured in Kathryn Kuhlman’s book, ‘I Believe in miracles,’.

1 John 2:27 says that the Anointing which abides inside us will teach us all things.
It was through this anointing that Kathryn Kuhlman Knew about Carey Reams and pointed him out without anyone telling her.
When the anointing is upon us, God will use us to do incredible miracles and many lives will be delivered from destruction. Today, there are people like Carey Reams, who are groaning and crying and looking for healing and deliverance from their afflictions. We must therefore take our place as anointed sons and daughters of God and begin to manifest His Power for the rescue of the oppressed.
As believers in these end-times, we have been sent to this generation by divine design to break the yoke in people’s lives.
It is only by the Anointing of God that burdens are removed and yokes of oppression—sickness, disease, poverty etc, are destroyed.

Isaiah 10:27 says ‘And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.’

During His ministry, Jesus was greatly anointed with the Holy Ghost and with power and He went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed [Acts 10;38].
Just as God sent Jesus into the world, so has He also sent us.
The word ‘Christ’ is not just another name for Jesus but is defined as “the Anointed One.”

Our being Christians means more than just followers of Jesus, it means we are “the anointeds.”
We are to walk in great power and anointing just like Christ and rescue men from all oppressions of the devil.
It is God’s plan that the end-time Church experience great explosion of miracles signs and wonders, just as was seen in the days of the early Church. Let us therefore rightly position ourselves to be a part of God’s great end-time move upon the earth.
However, our level of manifestation will be a function of the degree of our submission to the Holy Spirit. Let us therefore prepare to be usable vessels, through
spiritual growth, maturity and greater intimacy with the Holy Spirit.

PRAYER: Lord, please whatever You are doing in this season, may I never miss out on it. Please help me to be spiritually sensitive to Your every leading, so that I can take my place in Your great army in these last days in Jesus Name.

Isaiah 59:19 ‘When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.’

DAILY READING; Matthew 13:24-58; Leviticus 19; Proverbs 29

The Second Sino-Japanese War was a military conflict that was primarily waged between the Republic of China and the Empire of Japan.
It all started with the the Japanese invasion of the Chinese city of Manchuria on 18 September 1931.
In his book titled ‘With Signs Following,’, Stanley H. Frodsham, records a remarkable incident that happened during this war in Manchuria, China.
Japanese troops had gone on the rampage killing many Chinese civilians and committing atrocities. There was fear and confusion among the people and many went into hiding to escape the rampaging Japanese soldiers.
However a remarkable thing happened when these Japanese soldiers came to invade a mission house where there were a number of Christians praying. These Christians had barricaded themselves in the mission compound. The Japanese soldiers shouted at them to open the gates, but these Christians refused. Eventually the soldiers forced their way into the house. As the soldiers rushed in, one of them grabbed a native Chinese evangelist. He was about to kill him, when the evangelist burst into an utterance in tongues by the power of the Spirit. The soldier stopped in his tracks. He had just heard the evangelist tell him in the Japanese language, that if any harm were done to the people in the compound, then the judgment of God would fall upon him and his fellow soldiers. The rattled Japanese soldiers on hearing the statement stopped their intention of attacking the Christians. Believing that fellow Japanese people were there, they departed from the mission house..
However what they did not realize was that the evangelist who had given the warning couldn’t speak Japanese, but rather had spoken by the utterance of The Holy Ghost. As a result of that incident none of the believers in the compound were harmed, and shortly afterward a revival broke out among the Chinese in the district and many were brought to Christ.

Indeed when we speak in tongues we speak mysteries. As we speak the Holy organizes divine rescue and deliverance for us out tight situations.
Indeed the Holy Spirit knows how to protect believers and deliver them from the attacks of the enemy.

Isaiah 59:19 says ‘When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.’

The Holy Spirit is our shied and shelter from the evil floods of the enemy. Especially in these last days, we need His help greatly more than ever before.
We are in the days when the tempo of spiritual battles on the earth is increasing. We need the Hoy Spirit greatly because Ephesians 6:12 tells us that our wrestle is ‘not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.’

We are in a warfare where we cannot see our invisible spiritual enemies with our physical eyes. But as we pray in tongues the Holy Ghost directs us on what to do and enables us to triumph over the spiritual forces of wickedness ..
We are at a time when no believer can be victorious in battle without active engagement of the Holy Spirit.
We grossly limit ourselves when we fail to pray in the Holy Ghost and listen to His divine instructions .
Through a lifestyle of diligent study of the Word and fervent prayers, we will develop greater sensitivity to the Spirit.
Jesus knew our crucial need for the Holy Spirit that was why He told His disciples to wait in Jerusalem and not go anywhere until the Holy Spirit had come. Without the Spirit they would have been mincemeat for the bloodthirsty Jewish leaders. But with the coming of the Spirit the disciples became an impossible case for the opposition to handle.
In the same way today, through the leading of the Spirit we will be a mystery and a complex case for our enemies to handle. We will be moving like the wind and they cannot tell how we go or how we come.
By the guidance of the Spirit we will be delivered from the pits dug by the wicked and escape the snares of the fowlers.
Certainly, by the help of the Spirit we will enjoy constant divine security and immunity in these last perilous days.

PRAYER: Lord, by the help of Your Spirit, enable me to escape every trap of the wicked set against me today. Thank You Lord for making me a conqueror in every battle of life in Jesus Name.

DAILY READING; Matthew 13:1-23; Leviticus 17-18; Proverbs 28

Ben Hogan is ranked as one of the greatest golfers and most accurate golf ball strikers in history. However Hogan was an enigma and a paradox.
He wasn’t popular with most of his fellow pro golfers. He had introverted personality and would hardly joke with the other players or talk to the spectators. He was aloof and was known as cold, uncaring and sometimes unfriendly.
His character could be traced back to an incident that had greatly marred his life as a young boy.
In his childhood Ben adored his dad, Chester Hogan. Chester was a quiet man who suffered terrible and lengthy bouts of depression. One day the quietness of the Hogan home was shattered by the deafening roar of a .38 pistol. The elder Hogan had deliberately shot himself in the chest. He lived another twelve hours, enough time for him to say regretfully, “I wish I hadn’t done it.” Ben was devastated by his father’s suicide.
That day, the bullet not only killed Ben Hogan’s father; it destroyed Ben’s childhood as well.
He had to struggle through poverty, pain and loneliness. As a child he had always been small for his age, and had to endure being picked on frequently. But as he worked hard he was able to finally make it to the world stage as a top golfer.
He could exude charm and charisma at times. But much of the time, especially while on the golf course, he was taciturn, withdrawn, and seemed to care almost nothing about what others thought about him. Many fans considered him a surly fellow and he was not much loved by fellow golfers. But what those people didn’t know was that his taciturn character, stemmed from his painful childhood, which kept deeply hidden in his heart.
As an adult he never mentioned his father’s suicide, but once in his seventies he did make reference to it for just a moment. As he spoke, tears formed in his eyes – sixty plus years later he was still deeply moved by the tragic loss of his father.

When we see people outwardly, we may never know the hidden scars and pain they carry about with them.
We may not know the reason why they are who they are today. Some people have passed through crushing and unbelievable experiences, which has made them bitter and wary of life.
One of the key reasons for the anointing upon Jesus was to heal the broken hearted.
In Jesus’ very first sermon, in Luke 4:18, He quoted Isaiah 61:1 which says “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound…”
Jesus Christ understands all our troubles, because He suffered troubles more serious than ours.
As He faced death in Gethsemane He said, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful even unto death.” The Bible says He’s “touched with the feelings of our infirmities,”.
Jesus not only suffered pain, He went to the Cross to ensure we never have to suffer pain. The Bible says “He Himself took our infirmities, and bore our sicknesses.” He took our pain upon Himself!
God sent Jesus to deliver us from the hurt and heartaches of life. It is certainly God’s will to bring us healing and restoration. Psalm 147:3 says “God heals the heartbroken and bandages their wounds” (MSG).
We need to cast our cares upon the Lord because He cares for us. No matter what we may pass through, out of the ashes, God is able to bring forth beauty.
In Jeremiah 30:15 [NIV] God asks His people, “Why do you cry out over your wound, your pain that has no cure?” Then He answers, “But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds”
God is able to heal us of the past and give us a new beginning. In Christ Jesus old things are passed away and all things are become new.
We need to understand that God wants to repair the broken places in our lives and make us whole again.
Jeremiah 18:4 talks about the vessel of clay that the potter made but it was marred in his hand, so he made it again into another vessel, as seemed good to the potter. In verse 6, God says “As the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand.”

Truly, God is the potter that is able to make us whole again. Even if your life has been messed up, God’s not finished with you yet! He has a greater and better plan for your life, taking you from where you are today, and moving you forward to a greater future.
As we expose the cracks and scars we bear, Jesus is able to walk us through the barrier of time and into our wounded past and help us deal with those issues.
Through Him, we can be healed from those inner wounds, hidden pains, and hurts, to experience real joy and peace.

If perhaps today, your heart is burdened over your health, finances,  children, spouse, siblings, family, relationship etc, it is time to roll every care over to the Lord.
Through prayers and thanksgiving let us make our requests known to Him. Instead of worrying let us learn to worship. As we abide in God’s Presence where there’s fullness of joy, certainly, pressures will be turned to pleasures and the spirit of heaviness will be replaced by the garment of praise.

PRAYER: Father, I thank You for a fresh anointing of Your Spirit upon my life today. Please remove every spirit of heaviness from me and let Your peace, love and joy continually overflow my life in Jesus Name.

Acts 1:8 ‘And you shall receive power after the Holy Ghost has come upon you..’

DAILY READING; Matthew 12:22-50; Leviticus 15-16; Proverbs 27

The Book ‘How to Be Filled with Spiritual Power’ by John G. Lake, contains amazing testimonies of the manifestations of the Holy Spirit.
John G Lake was in South Africa serving as a missionary, when he was called to pray for a blacksmith who was mentally afflicted.
When he got to the house in Johannesburg, the man was locked up in a room and the windows barred.
When he asked to be let into the room, the man’s wife was shocked and told him that the man almost killed her four strong sons when they tried to overpower him but could not.
Lake said, “Dear sister, I have the secret of power.., you just give me the key, and go about your work, and do not be troubled.”
The woman reluctantly gave him the key and Lake unlocked the door, slipped into the room, locked the door, and put the key in his pocket. The man was reclining in a crouch like a lion ready to spring. On seeing Lake, he cursed terribly and threatened to tear him from limb to limb and throw him out the window.
The man was indeed big, twice the size of Lake and his arms were massive. But Lake approached him having confidence in the Scripture “He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).”
Lake began to talk to him, allowing the atmosphere to be saturated by the presence of the Holy Spirit.
As Lake talked, he approached the bed step-by-step, sometimes only three inches. In about thirty minutes, he got up close enough where he could reach the man’s hand. The blacksmith was still reclining in a posture like a lion, as if waiting to pounce.
But as the Presence of God came upon Lake, he caught the man’s hand and turned his wrists and looked directly into his eyes.
He could see fear in the man as the devil in him was in terror and was trying to back away from Lake’s eyes.
Lake felt the anointing of the Spirit flowing from the crown of his head to the soles of his feet. As the power of God surged through him, the next thing he knew, the man collapsed in a heap, rolled off the bed onto his knees and began to weep. As the devil departed from him, he came back to his senses and became human again.
Such great miracles were recorded throughout Dr. John G. Lake’s ministry as he operated in great power and anointing of the Spirit.

A life of power and great anointing is the portion of every child of God. Especially in these end-times, God is delivering unusual power and anointing to the Church.
Describing the end-time army of God, Joel 2:2-5 says ‘A great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations …’
Truly, God is raising a strong people set in battle array, who will be overcomers in these last climatic days on earth.
There is a Spirit of Might being released upon the latter day Church to do unusual exploits.
It is God’s will that we live in constant dominion over the devil and his works. It is God’s desire that we be in charge wherever we appear.
During His earthly ministry, whenever Jesus appeared, the devils took to their heels and fled. Jesus walked in Power and authority and was anointed without measure. That is God’s target for us today. As the Father sent Jesus, so has He sent us to manifest great power on the earth. This power comes through our connection to the Holy Spirit.

Acts 1:8 says you shall receive power after the Holy Ghost has come upon you.

For us to see mighty manifestations of power, we have to go deeper in seeking the Spirit of God. There is a level of anointing you can operate on where the Spirit of God literally takes you over. This is the level where Dr. Lake operated.
If you take a little sip of alcohol in your house and go out to the street, nobody may know you took a drink except perhaps you tell them. But when you sit down with bottles of alcohol and drink as much as you can, when you walk out of your door, everyone will know something has happened to you. We therefore need to stay with God and drink enough from His Word to see mighty manifestation of the Spirit in our lives. By the manifestations of miracles, signs and wonders around us, people will know we are drunk with power.

1 Corinthians 4:20 says that the Kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.

In the kingdom of God, power is our identity. Without being clothed with power, we become cheap preys to the enemy. But when we operate in God’s power we dominate in our environment.
Today, a life of power is crucial for every believer. The Scriptures says that the whole world lies in wickedness, therefore we need power to survive and thrive in the midst of such wickedness. If you want to live a successful Christian life, you must be empowered.
Wherever we go the manifestations of the power of God will announce our arrival. Just as Dr. Lake’s amazing testimony brought glory to God, so should our lives be a testimony to our generation.
As we take spiritual responsibility to fervently seek the Holy Spirit, surely we will command dominion over principalities and powers and triumph in every situation in Jesus Name.

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to remain always spiritually fervent and on fire for You. I thank You for the grace to draw closer to Your Spirit so that I can begin to see miracles, signs and wonders in my life in Jesus Name..

Pastor Benedictus “Benny” Hinn is an Israeli Christian who is best known for his “Miracle Crusades” characterized by great display of the power of the Holy Spirit.
In the early days of his ministry Pastor Benny Hinn learned an importance lesson about prompt obedience to the Holy Spirit.
In 1980, he travelled to Detroit to minister in a Church. It was to be a morning and evening session. The night before his first ministration, he spent time in prayer and worship and had sweet fellowship with the Holy Spirit where the presence of God was so strong.
The next morning when he arrived to minister at the Church, Benny Hinn felt the anointing of the Holy Spirit like never before. As he began to preach, God moved powerfully in the service, a heavy cloud of glory came down and many people began to weep, while some fell to the floor, sobbing.
After the glorious service that morning, there was a break for lunch. Benny Hinn went to have lunch in the home of his cousin who lived in Detroit.
While having delightful lunch with his cousin and her husband and enjoying a lively conversation, Benny suddenly, felt the Lord tugging at his heart, saying “Go pray.”
Benny was startled and wondered how he could possibly get up and leave in the middle of lunch, to go and pray! What would his cousin and her husband think? Moreover, his hotel was forty-five minutes away. So he ignored the instruction to pray. After the lunch, he was driven back to the hotel, and when he got into his room, he felt so exhausted that he decided to sleep.
That evening, when he arrived at the Church for the evening service, he found that the crowd had doubled. People who heard of the powerful morning service had come to experience the power of God too.
But when Benny got up to preach, nothing happened! There was no power and no overwhelming anointing of the Spirit.
Alarmed, he struggled, saying everything he could think of, but the Holy Spirit did not show up.
To Benny Hinn, the service was a disaster and when it ended, he rushed back to his hotel room to inquire from the Lord why the service had been devoid of power. Then the gentle voice of the Holy Spirit reminded him about the instruction to ‘Go pray’, which he had ignored.
That day, the Holy Spirit taught Benny Hinn that to live in the power of the anointing, he must be willing to pay the price of prompt obedience.

The Presence of the Holy Spirit carries great promise of power, victory, miracles, signs and wonders, yet it also carries a price. That price is total obedience.
Our level of manifestation of the power of the Spirit is a function of our level of obedience to Him.
Being obedient to God means you are a delighted doer of His Word, either spoken or written.
As disciples of Christ, we must be willing to walk away from anything in this world so as to walk in close fellowship with the Lord.
The hard choice we need to make every day is whether we want to be God pleasers or man pleasers. There is nothing wrong or evil about having our own plans and schedule, but we must always give God’s plan priority in every situation.
The cost of the anointing is devotion and intimacy with the Holy Spirit and loving Him above all else.
This means a transfer of ownership, where we no longer belong to ourselves but we belong to God.
To be a follower of Jesus, we must deny ourselves, take up our cross daily and follow Him. (Luke 9:23, KJV)
As end-time saints Christ has redeemed us to be kings and priests and to reign on the earth (Revelation 5:9-10).
However before we can manifest power and authority on the earth, we must subject and submit ourselves to the superior authority of the Holy Spirit.
Obeying His instruction on any issue is where our blessing lies and until it is done, a believer’s life will be riddled with failures, problems and struggles.
God desires us to walk in His presence, power, anointing, wisdom, and victory! But the truth is that only those who pay the price of obedience to God, will be rewarded with His power and glory.

PRAYER;
Lord, please, ignite in me the desire to pay the required prize to carry the Presence of the Holy Spirit. I receive today, the courage to always serve You faithfully and promptly obey Your every instruction in Jesus Name.

DAILY READING –Matthew 11:20-30; Leviticus 13; Proverbs 25.

As a plumber by trade, Smith Wigglesworth lived an obscure and quiet life in Bradford, England. He and his wife, Polly had built a small mission house, but it was Polly that did most of the preaching. Smith felt constrained by a slight stuttering problem. Also he was an illiterate who only began learning to read and write as an adult.
However, when he clocked age 48, a sudden, dramatic change came upon him due to an encounter with the Holy Spirit.
In 1907, Smith attended Church services in a nearby town, Sunderland, where people were receiving the Holy Spirit baptism and speaking in other tongues. But Smith became frustrated when he failed to receive the baptism after some days.
Deciding to return back home, he went to the Church Vicar’s home to say, “Goodbye.”
There he met the Vicar’s wife, and told her he was returning home without speaking in tongues. As she laid hands on him and prayed a simple but powerful prayer, the fire fell! Smith saw a vision of the empty cross with Jesus exalted at the right hand of the Father. As he opened his mouth to praise God, instantly he began speaking in tongues.
Upon returning home to Bradford, the next Sunday, Smith chose to do the preaching. His wife, Polly was amazed as he seemed to be a new person speaking with great power. She said to herself “That’s not my Smith!”
As Smith continued to seek more of the Spirit through fasting, prayers and study of the Word, great power erupted in his life. This resulted in miracles, signs and wonders, that announced him all over England and beyond.
Through his ministry, over 23 dead people were raised and many diverse healings occurred. From an ordinary plumber, who couldn’t read or write correctly, the power of the Spirit transformed Smith Wigglesworth into a world acclaimed preacher.

Jesus lived quietly for 30 years in Galilee, known as the carpenter’s son. But suddenly, after Jesus was baptized, everything changed.
After spending 40 days in fasting and praying, Luke 4:14 says that He returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
On entering the synagogue, Jesus declared
‘The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.’ [Luke 4:18]
In the same synagogue where it had been his custom to read, the people were amazed at the power of His words and asked themselves ‘Is not this Joseph’s son?’ (Luke 4:22).
A similar thing happened to Saul, Israel’s first king. In 1 Samuel 10:9, as the anointing came upon Saul, he was turned into another man such that the people of Israel wondered and said, “What is this that is come unto the son of Kish?”
When the Holy Spirit comes upon a person, there will be definite and great transformations.
Many ordinary people in the Bible were made extraordinary because of the anointing. Gideon, Othniel, Jephthah, Samson were ordinary men chosen to be Judges of Israel but when the anointing came on them they became extraordinary leaders. It was the anointing that shifted David from being a shepherd to become the King of Israel.
Truly, the anointing of the Spirit is the difference-maker!
It will take us from living ordinary lives to making great impacts in the world.
The reason why a Christian would feel stagnated, unfulfilled and frustrated is because the anointing is not flowing!
The truth is that mere busy-ness and “kingdom activity” cannot bring you contentment. It takes the Anointing to accomplish our God ordained purpose and be fulfilled in life.
Jesus died and shed His Blood so that we can be transformed from a lowlife of weakness and mediocrity, to a life of power and glory.
On leaving the earth, Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to be our helper, our comforter, our guide and activator. Through Him, we are turned into ‘another man’ and empowered to fulfill a glorious destiny.
In this new month, let us make a fresh commitment to seek the Holy Spirit wholeheartedly, so that we can soar to glorious new heights.
By God’s grace, it will be our season to arise from the ashes of stagnancy, redundancy and obscurity to experience the beauty of a wonderful new beginning.

PRAYER: Father, by the Blood of Jesus, I receive the grace to seek You with greater fervency so that I can experience a great anointing of Your Spirit. Thank You Lord for taking me to glorious new heights this month in Jesus Name. .

William Seymour’s parents were emancipated slaves, who owned a small farm. They were poor and Seymour often earned money by working as a laborer. In the early 1900s, he contracted smallpox and lost his left eye, replacing it with a glass prosthetic eye.
Lacking formal education and blind in one eye, Seymour taught himself to read, mainly through studying the Bible.
Seymour lived during the height of racial segregation in America and often felt the sting of racial prejudice.
After hearing the famous evangelist, Charles Parham teach that the baptism of the Holy Spirit came with the initial evidence of tongues, Seymour was persuaded to attend Charles Parham’s Bible school to learn more.
But as Seymour attended Charles F. Parham’s Bible school in Houston, Texas, even there he could not escape racism. He was allowed to attend lectures, but while white students sat in the classroom, Seymour had to sit in the hallway.
In 1906, William J. Seymour travelled about 1,500 miles alone to and arrived in Los Angeles where he had been invited to preach at a Holiness mission in the city. But after Seymour preached about baptism of the Holy and speaking in tongues, it so vexed the founder of the church, that when Seymour returned for service in the evening, he found the doors padlocked against him and he was refused entrance.
A Church member, who felt sorry for the stranded preacher, gave Seymour temporary accommodation in his home. There, Seymour spent a lot of time in prayer and in fasting. The result of the much prayer was an eruption of the power of the Holy Spirit that transformed Seymour’s life and ministry.
It led to the Azusa Street revival, which is commonly regarded as the beginning of the modern-day Pentecostal Movement. Today, there are close to a billion Pentecostal and charismatic believers across the globe, and it is the fastest-growing form of Christianity.

William Seymour was grossly disadvantaged as a poor black man who had only one eye. Yet, when he connected to the power of the Holy Spirit, his story drastically changed and the anointing announced him to his generation.
The anointing of the Holy Spirit is the divine enablement that activates the destinies of men for exploits.
The word anoint' comes from the Hebrew wordMASHACH.’
It means `to smear or rub.’
This signifies that the presence of God is so smeared or rubbed on you like oil, that His presence is left on you, causing divine excellence and power.
When you are anointed, you become empowered by God for extraordinary accomplishments. The anointing causes us to operate in the supernatural.
It takes the anointing for any believer to be effective in his life and calling. No king in Israel could ascend the throne without first being anointed to occupy the office.
The anointing is the power we require to go beyond our limited human capabilities and achieve incredible feats for God.

When God asked Zerubbabel to build the temple, He said to him ‘This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.’ [Zechariah 4:6-7].

The Holy Spirit gives you power within that enables you; to see, to think, to say and to do things ordinary men can’t.
Through the anointing of the Spirit, the apostles went beyond being ordinary men, to become supernatural beings that turned their world ‘upside down’ and made great impacts in their generation.
Likewise as we connect to the Holy Spirit, He will enable us to come to the full manifestation of our divine destiny and make great global impacts.
God has so much divine treasures deposited in us that is meant to bless our world, but it will take the Spirit to see them activated .
In this new month of November let us believe God for a divine quickening that will launch us into new realms of exploits.
We can’t afford to continue living ordinary mediocre lives, while the greatness destined for us remains dormant and unactivated.
In this 11th month let us get ready for 11th hour miracles as God does a new and quick work in our lives. As the Spirit is poured upon us from on high every wilderness will be turned into a fruitful field.
Certainly the Lord will do something new in our lives. He will even make a way in the wilderness, and cause rivers to flow in the desert for us. ( Isaiah 43:19).
Let us therefore spiritually position ourselves for a fresh encounter with the mighty Spirit of God in this season.
Through renewed appetite for God’s Word, fervent prayers and passionate worship, we will experience an eruption of power that will bring us into the realm of sweatless triumph and empower us for victory and breakthroughs!

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to spiritually position myself in this new month for a fresh encounter with Your Spirit. By Your grace I will surely experience the activation of the great destiny You have ordained for me in Jesus Name

Dao Sanh was a poor rice farmer whom God transformed greatly and used mightily in the spread of the Gospel in Vietnam.
In August 1996, Dao Sanh’s wife was suddenly paralyzed down the right side of her body. Buddhist Monks from their village chanted prayers over her for two days, but she was not healed.
Days later, some Christians arrived from another village on an evangelistic mission. They came to Dao Sanh’s house and prayed over his wife and soon she recovered.
Overwhelmed by the miracle, Dao Sanh and his wife sought out the Christians, and eventually surrendered their lives to Christ.
Soon after, Dao Sanh began to preach the Gospel in his village and other neighboring villages, who were mostly Buddhists. At first he was ignored, or ridiculed as being crazy.
But as he persevered, he began to attract an audience.
As more people began to listen to him, the Buddhists in his village called the police, who came and warned him to stop preaching immediately because of the many complaints.
But Dao Sanh would not be intimidated. The next day, he stood at his usual spot and was preaching to the crowd when the police arrived to arrest him. As they dragged him off, he was still preaching. After nine days in a cold prison cell, they released him with a stern warning not to preach Christianity.
But Dao Sanh immediately went back to preaching. Over the next thirteen years Dao Sanh was regularly imprisoned for preaching. His persistence brought many in the villages to The Lord. And during the times of his imprisonments, he also won many of the prisoners to Christ. As Dao Sanh endured these persecutions, God began working in the hearts of government officials in Vietnam as their attitude towards Christianity began to soften.
During a time when Dao Sanh had been in prison for a year, one day he was called to the Prison warden’s office.
The warden asked him “If you are released, will you go back to your Christian preaching?”
Dao Sanh was becoming old. He felt tempted to say he would not preach again, so that he could be allowed to go home, and be with his family. But his deep devotion to Christ would not let him compromise.
So he told the Warden, he would continue to preach Jesus.
To his greatest surprise, the warden handed Dao a paper and told him, it was a license that enabled him to henceforth practice Christianity without hindrance in Vietnam. It was the government’s new policy.
Dao Sanh could not believe his ears that suddenly, after fourteen years of persecutions he was finally free to preach the Gospel.
After his release, God helped Dao Sanh to connect to the international ministry, Big Life, which empowers believers worldwide to reach and disciple their own People for Jesus Christ. Over the next year alone, God used Dao Sanh, to raise up sixty new Churches in the region.

As we go through the scriptures, we find also that most of those greatly used by God, were those who also passed through fiery trials.
The truth is that for every David, there’s a goliath, for every Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, there is a fiery furnace and for every Daniel, there is a lion’s den.
But in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loves us. Though you may be challenged, through Christ you are destined to always overcome.
Though you may sometimes pass through the water and the fire, eventually God will bring you out into your wealthy place.
It doesn’t matter how great the oppositions, when God is on your side you are on the winning side.
As you persist in well doing in due season you will surely reap, if you don’t faint.[Galatians 6:9]
As you stay faithful, you will indeed be fruitful. Your persistence will soon wear down every resistance.
This is why we must never compromise our convictions no matter the cost. Sometimes we may get thrown into the fire for standing up for our faith. At those times, God promises in Isaiah 43:2 “When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned. The flames will not harm you’
Though you may go through the fire, you will come forth as gold. [Job 23:10]
No matter the heat of the trial, God will cause you to emerge victorious and you will come out stronger and better.
Truly, the believer’s life is an overcomer’s life. It is a life of continually triumphing over challenges and moving from victory to victory. And our victory comes through the faith imparted to our heart by God’s Word.
Therefore, in times of trials, we must refuse to focus on what is happening, but rather focus on what is written. Through God’s Word, we will acquire faith which is the victory that overcomes the world.
As you persist in fighting the good fight of faith, your due season of rewards will surely come.
Certainly, God is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him. He has not called the sons of Jacob to seek Him in vain. As long as we love God, we can be sure He will cause the trials and tribulations to work together for our good. The light and momentary afflictions are achieving for us a far more eternal weight of glory.
Having come to the end of the month of October today, let us bless God for granting us the grace to maintain our commitment to walk in the fear of the Lord. As we refuse to grow weary in well doing, surely, our reaping season is coming. Suddenly God will surprise us with His surpassing goodness and overflow our lives with abundant miracles, signs and wonders.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for bringing me to the end of this month. Please grant me the grace to never grow weary in well doing. Today, I receive strength to keep deepening my relationship with You in Jesus Name.
