DAILY READING – – Luke 1:57-80; Ezekiel 35-36; Isaiah 59

‘The Long Walk,’ is a popular book published by a former  polish army officer named Sławomir Rawicz detailing his escape from a prison in Siberia during world war 2. In the book, Rawicz describes how he and six companions escaped from the prison camp in the middle of a snowstorm in 1941 and headed south, avoiding towns. They journeyed from Siberia to India crossing the Gobi Desert and Himalayas. In their journey they faced freezing nights, lack of food and water, mosquitoes, an endless desert, the Himalayas etc. They faced many dangers and dilemmas as they journeyed towards freedom. They did the incredible by not only escaping, but also surviving the cold. Walking on foot for over 4000 miles through the killing cold of Siberia, they would eventually cross through five countries. Their survival, despite the insurmountable cold, was possible because they had a flint and knife with which they could make fire and keep warm. They also survived because they walked briskly generating heat that kept their bodies warm. After a gruesome  journey, they eventually escaped from the hostile soviet territory, into safety.

Indeed fire is essential for survival when journeying through a cold region. As believers we are pilgrims journeying through the spiritually cold climate of the world. And to survive this journey we need to keep our fire burning.

Leviticus 6:13 says  ‘the fire shall ever be burning upon the altar it shall never go out.’

The climate in the world is growing colder daily. Different manner of sins and perversions have recently been emerging. Thus to be spiritually cold or lukewarm in such an environment is dangerous. In Revelations 3:15-16 Jesus says ‘So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.’

We must be full of fire and fervency to avoid being disconnected from Jesus. And to maintain this fire, we must stay close to the Word. Proverbs 26:20 says ‘Where no wood is, there the fire goes out.’  It is the entrance of The Word that gives light. Staying anointed requires that we stay in the Word.  When we stop putting in the wood, the fire is bound to go out. So to always maintain the fire of the Holy Ghost already kindled in us, we must constantly engage the Word of God. Every moment we spend in the Word will count in sustaining the fire. The more we stay in God’s Word the more fire is imparted into us.  Let us keep our fire burning, by maintaining a fervent prayer life. And let us keep stoking this fire with wood, by laying up scriptures in our hearts.  This way, we remain always fervent in spirit and too hot for any devil to handle.

PRAYER: Father help me to keep my fire burning, please help me to stand strong despite the spiritual coldness and fierce winds of oppositions in the world. I thank You for the grace to stay strong in Jesus Name.

The Ebola outbreak in 2014, was a period of desperation to the medical world and a race against time as the disease spread rapidly. During this period, the World Health organisation[WHO] called a number of emergency meetings. After reviewing the status of all the potential experimental therapies and vaccines, one of the conclusions they came to was to treat victims with the blood of survivors. The health organization released a statement, stating that treating Ebola patients with blood transfusions from survivors of the disease should be the immediate priority. They arrived at this conclusion after observing how effective it had been in combating the disease.

One of the first Ebola victims to be treated in the United States was a medical missionary Dr. Kent Brantly, who contracted the virus while working with Samaritan’s Purse in Liberia. However, before he returned to America, he received a blood transfusion from a 14-year-old Liberian boy who had been cured of Ebola. A few days after Dr. Brantly began treatment at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, he was declared virus free. In the weeks that followed his recovery, Dr. Brantly donated his blood to three other Americans who had contracted Ebola, and they equally recovered. These and other successful cases, proved that treating patients with the blood of survivors was a sure way of curing the disease. The immune system of those who had survived had created antibodies that specifically killed the virus and kept it from coming back. These antibodies had become empowered to destroy Ebola. Therefore when transfused into an Ebola patient’s body, they helped the immune system fight off the deadly virus.

Today, though Ebola has been brought under control, there is a disease which has continued to ravage humanity for many centuries. It is the disease of sin. And in all of eternity only one person’s blood can be able to overcome and combat this disease, and that is the blood of Jesus Christ. The Blood of Jesus, not only overcomes sin, but also destroys its consequence, such as sickness. When we are infused with His Blood, it destroys every spiritual virus in our system.

1 John 3:8 says ‘“..For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”

The blood of Jesus is designed to demolish every stronghold of sin and sickness. There is wonder-working, miracle-healing power in the Blood of Jesus that destroys all infirmities. It is the light that shines in the darkness and the darkness cannot comprehend it. Just as light and darkness cannot coexist, anywhere the Blood of Jesus is present every evil must flee or be destroyed.

In Mathew 28, Jesus said all power has been given unto Him in Heaven and in earth. And because the life is in the Blood, it means His Blood contains the ultimate power in the universe. It is the all powerful blood. Therefore when His Blood is resident in you, it means destruction and annihilation to everything contrary to God’s will for you.

Acts 10:38 says ‘How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with The Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him.”

Jesus has a mission to destroy every evil in our lives. Remember that your body is the temple of The Holy Ghost and we saw what Jesus did to those who were trading in the temple. In the same way when His blood indwells in you, with His whip, He drives out everything buying and selling in your system.

Therefore let us partake of the Blood today, in the consciousness that we are releasing a weapon of mass destruction into our system against every  works of darkness.  The Blood of Jesus in us is a spiritual immune system no disease can dare. His Blood is power that transforms us from victims to victors. Everywhere the Blood is applied, fire falls and victory is assured. Indeed By His blood we are overcomers and more than conquerors in every situation of life.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for the victory I have through Your Blood. Today I invoke Your precious blood against everything hindering the manifestation of Your Glory in my life. Indeed by the mystery of the blood I have truly overcome in Jesus Name.

The Beta Israel, meaning House of Israel, are a sect of Ethiopian Jews who practice Judaism. They are thought to be either the lost Israelite tribe of Dan or descendants of King Solomon. Some centuries ago, after close examination, Jewish rabbis accepted them and proclaimed them to be authentic Jews. However living as a minority Jewish tribe in the predominantly Muslim society, they suffered various forms of oppression. As a result, in the 1970’s, the government of Israel decided to take significant steps to bring these Ethiopian Jews back to Israel. In the late 1970’s, Israel began a series of secret operations to airlift them back to Israel. But the government of Ethiopia halted these operations, thereby leaving many Ethiopian Jews stranded. Life became harrowing for these Jews, who were forced to stay back in Ethiopia which at this time was involved in a civil war, with their fate unknown under the hostile Ethiopian government. The situation of these Jews became even more desperate, with threats of genocidal attack on the Jews. However as they continued to pray and look unto God for His help, suddenly a window of opportunity opened up for their rescue. At this time the Ethiopian government desperately needed money to continue fighting the war and so they reached a secret deal with the state of Israel for a huge amount of money to be paid to release these Jews. After Israel paid, they were given just 2 days for evacuation. The rescue operation which was code-named “Operation Solomon” became one of the most remarkable rescue efforts in modern history, 14,325 Ethiopian Jews were airlifted to Israel in less than thirty-six hours. From May 24 to May 25, 1991, non-stop flights of 35 Israeli aircraft, including Israeli Air Force planes, secretly transported  them.  And for these once stranded Jews it was joy unspeakable. Many of them had known nothing but a village life of poverty and squalor, they didn’t even have electricity or running water. But then suddenly overnight their story changed and their captivity was turned. Not only were they now in the land of their dreams, but they also became instant Israeli citizens as soon as their feet touched the soil.

Often, when it seems there is no way out,  God makes a way. When it seemed all hope was lost for these Ethiopian Jews divine help arose for them. Every man needs help. Especially in this age and time, we need God’s help. We need the kind of divine help that defies human solutions. We need help that confounds the enemy and delivers miracles to us.

PS 121: says “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep’.

Sometimes we may not know how strong our God is until we are faced with strong battles.  In Judges 15:14-17, The anointing became strongest on Samson when the Philistines shouted the loudest on him. According to Ps.66:1, God arises to scatter His enemies, when they have gathered.

This is why we do not look at situations, rather we look unto our God. In II Chronic;es 20:1-24. King Jehoshaphat was faced with an impossible situation. But he declared to God that their eyes were upon Him, God arose and performed a miraculous rescue operation. It is the help of God that wins the battle of life: There is nothing too hard for God. Just like He did for the Ethiopian Jews, He can suddenly turn the captivity of anyone who hopes on Him.

In this season God will suddenly be turning the captivity of many. Because of the price paid in the place of prayer, there will be a sudden explosion of miracles, signs and wonders. In Acts chapter 2, after the disciples had paid the price of prayer in the upper room, there was a sudden move of The Spirit and out break of miracles. In this season we shall be seeing the amazing help of God in supernatural occurrences. Through the help of God long standing walls of Jericho will cheaply come crumbling down and supernatural exploits will become the order of the day. In 2 Chronicles 26:15, the king did exploits because he was marvelously helped  by God until he was strong.

We are in the ninth month, which is a month of birthing. It is a time of manifestation of glory and a season of reaping. And a principal tool for reaping our harvest is praise. Therefore let us turn on the switch of praise. God is fearful in praises and as we keep the fire burning on our altar of prayer and praise, we will be seeing the supernatural help of God through inexplicable miracles, signs and wonders.

PRAYER: Lord,  Indeed without You I can do nothing, but through You I can do all things. Thank You Lord for being my ever present help at every time of need in Jesus Name.

Jewish education of Israeli children begin at a very young age. Ever since the middle ages, the Jews have practiced a ceremony which helped children early in life to identify the Word of God with ‘sweetness’. When a child is four or five years old, parents start introducing the child to Torah studies, or Bible studies. On the first day of a child’s learning which is called  ‘Shavuot’, It is customary to bring the child as morning dawned to the synagogue or to the rabbi’s house. The child is then put on the lap of the rabbi who teaches him.

A slate is brought upon which is written The Word of God. And the rabbi reads every letter of the alef-bet and the child repeats after him. Quoting from Psalm 19, he tells the child that  God’s Word is sweeter than honey. And the rabbi takes honey and uses it to write God’s Word on a slate, and then the child licks up the honey with his tongue. And the Rabbi brings a honey cake upon which is inscribed “The Lord God gave me a skilled tongue to know…” (Isaiah 50: 4-5), and the rabbi reads every word of these verses and the child repeats after him. And then a peeled hard-boiled egg is brought, upon which is written “Mortal, feed your stomach and fill your belly with this scroll… and I ate it and it tasted as sweet as honey to me” (Ezekiel 3:3). And the rabbi reads every word and the child repeats after him. And them he feeds the child the cake and the egg.

The essence of this ceremony is to convey to the child’s mind that God’s Word is enjoyable. It is a way of making the child develop an early appetite for The Word. A child who licks honey from a slate and who eats honey cake and a hard-boiled egg on the first day of class will immediately understand that the Word of God is sweet. Through weaving this intricate ceremony the Jews transform the first day of school into a special experience for the child that  will remain with him for the rest of his life.

Ezekiel, 3, 3 “And He said unto me: ‘Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee.’ Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.”

The Word of God is indeed sweet. And our spiritual growth is tied to our appetite for God’s Word. 1 Peter 2: 2 says that we should desire the sincere milk of The Word so that we can grow thereby. It is the attention we pay to ‘eating’ the Word that determines how much of the supernatural we can see. The Word of God is the instrument for working miracles.

Miracles are not myths, neither are they magic; they are provoked by our faithful compliance with and obedience to the demands of scriptures.

Mark 16:17  ‘And these signs shall follow them that believe..’

When we believe signs and wonders follow us. Again Luke 1:45 says ‘And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.’

To see the performance of God’s promises in this season we must develop the needed faith. Indeed so many blessings await us in this new month but it will take faith to access them. And faith comes by hearing God’s Word. Let us therefore determine to spend quality time in God’s Word so that we can have the needed faith to walk in the fullness of the blessings of this season.

PRAYER: Lord, Please ignite in me a fresh desire and appetite for Your Word. Let Your Word be my constant meditation, for I know that when I am full of Your Word my life shall be filled with miracles signs and wonders in Jesus Name.

Isaiah 43:18-19 ‘Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

For hundreds of years, no runner in history could ever complete a mile’s race within four minutes. It was generally believed to be impossible. This theory was supported by studies conducted by ‘experts”. They came to the conclusion that a human body lacked the capacity to run a mile’s race in only four minutes.. And for many years, it seemed they were right.  The closest anyone came was an athlete in 1942, who finished in 4.01 minutes. But then a young medical student named Roger Bannister decided to disagree with the experts. He didn’t dwell on the impossibilities and refused to let the negative belief form a stronghold in his mind. He began to train, believing he was going to break that record. And indeed, on May 6, 1954, the world of track and field was forever changed as Roger Bannister finished a mile’s race in 3:59.4 minutes. Bannister had defied all odds and made sports history. However, he had won more from his faith than from his feet.

Interestingly within a month, after bannister broke the record, another runner from Australia, inspired by Banister also broke the four minute barrier. And surprisingly within ten years, 336 other runners from various geographic locations also broke the four-minute-mile record which for hundreds of years, experts said couldn’t be done. What had happened was that for all those years, runners believed what the experts were saying, and built a barrier in their minds. But once one man was able to break it, the thinking changed and it became a possibility. Indeed Bannister ushered a new season into the history of sports.

The truth is that the barrier and battle is in the mind. You will never go beyond the barriers that are in your own mind. But once the barriers are broken, you are ushered into a new world of victory and great possibilities. We have to break free from every limitation.

A baby stays nine months in the womb, and in that ninth month, the  baby breaks the barrier and confines holding him back and breaks out into a new world. Like that baby we have been incubating in the womb of prayer and now in this 9^th month, it is our time to break out. It is time for the glory to be unveiled in us. It is our beginning of new things.

Isaiah 43:18-19 says ‘Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Indeed God is doing a new thing; it is a new beginning of great things and great heights. It is a new year for us. The Jewish new year, known as Rosh Hashanah, begins on the first day of Tishrei, which is the seventh month of the Hebrew calendar. This seventh month of the Jews falls around September on the Gregorian calendar. Interestingly also the meaning of September is seven, because it used to be the 7^th month on the Gregorian calendar. So we see seven which is the number of perfection playing a significant role in September.

In other words September is not only a month of new things, it is also a month of perfection. And by God’s grace we shall never miss our portion in this new season. Consider not the former things. It doesn’t matter what your story may have been in the past, September is the month of new things. Let us therefore be willing to embrace the new horizons God is bringing us into. Something big is about to happen. And by the Blood of Jesus every barrier and limitation that tries to hold us back is broken off. Every embargo is lifted, and this month shall be for us, a story of from glory to glory in Jesus Name.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for granting me the grace to accept the spiritual responsibility of diligent study of Your Word, so that I can have the faith to access  the great and mighty things You have lined up for me in this new season, in Jesus Name

Boxers excel in a fight if they have previously spent time in the gym, devoting themselves to training. If they have never had any training, during a fight, their brain shuts off and human instinct takes over.  And human instinct is terrible at effective hand to hand combat.  As humans, naturally, our brain wants to keep our head away from danger, so it keeps the head as far from danger as possible. So in a fight  a boxer who has not  been well trained will find himself following only his instincts as his body just automatically reacts, throwing random arm punches at inopportune moments. This could cause him to lose the fight. A boxer who wants to win will subject  himself to proper training . And  one of the best ways  a boxer trains  is by spending time in a sparring session, which tries to reflect the actual fighting conditions the boxer will face in the ring. The purpose is to improve the boxer’s current abilities and help him learn new skills. Sparring is the most important exercise available for boxers. It is the fight before the real fight. It is essential to sharpen skills and develop true fight shape conditioning.

In this month we have spent time in the sparring room of prayer. We have been trained and prepare. The things we passed through now, have trained us to be stronger for our tomorrow. This is why James 1:2-6 tells us to consider it pure joy, whenever we face fiery trials. The fire is not meant to burn us but to purify us, so that after we have been tried we  can come forth as gold.  We are God’s army and God has to train His troops. Paul tells us to endure hardship as true soldiers of Christ. This is why we do not  lose heart. Though outwardly it may seem we are perishing, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. We are being strengthened, we are being made stronger. For our light and momentary afflictions are achieving for us a far more eternal weight of glory.

2 Corinthians 4:17 says  ‘For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;’

In other words,  after the trial, greater rewards are coming. After the tests come our testimonies. After the rain comes the sunshine. In all that we go through, God works behind the scenes to ensure that it all works out for our good. We are therefore encouraged not to become weary in well doing, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Having come to the end of the month of August we must realize indeed  that we have passed through training for reigning. it has been a spiritually taxing month as we spent much time in fervent prayers, but it is also a month that has prepared us for the exceeding weight of glory about to come upon us. Be rest assured that our prayers have not been in vain. Surely there is a reward for them that diligently seek God, and in this season your reward will never elude you in Jesus Name.

Get ready! God is set to give you, eye-popping, ear-tingling, mind-blowing blessings. . We therefore praise God at this time,  trusting that He is working out His perfect plan for us. And as we watch for the coming glory, we remain thankful, for this is God’s will for us in  Christ Jesus.[1 Thess. 5:16-18]

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to be thankful always. I know You are working out your perfect will in my life. I know I shall see Your exceeding glory soon manifested in my life in Jesus Name.

Captain Eddie Rickenbacker  was  one of the most daring and dramatic figures in the American military in the twentieth century. He is remembered as the American who destroyed the most enemy planes during World War I.

In October 1942, Captain Eddie Rickenbacker was on a mission to deliver an important message to General Douglas MacArthur in New Guinea. But there was an unexpected detour, which hurled Captain Eddie into the most harrowing adventure of his life. Somewhere over the South Pacific, his plane became lost beyond the reach of radio. Fuel ran dangerously low. So Captain Eddie and the men with him decided to ditch their plane in the ocean and use life rafts.

Afterwards, for nearly a month Captain Eddie and his companions would fight the water, and the weather, and the scorching sun. They spent many sleepless nights recoiling as giant sharks rammed their rafts. But of all their enemies at sea, one proved most formidable: starvation. After eight days, their rations were gone or destroyed by the salt water. Left with no food, these men prayed  for a miracle. And a miracle did occur.

One afternoon, after a time of fellowship, they finished with a prayer for deliverance and a hymn of praise. Thereafter Captain Eddie dozed off.  He awoke suddenly as something landed on his head, It was a sea gull. The sea gull meant food and he knew he had to catch the bird. It was a matter of life and death. But at any movement, the bird could fly away from his head.  And so believing God for help, he suddenly lifted up his hand and grabbed! He caught the sea gull. Its flesh was cooked and eaten; and its intestines were used for bait to catch fishes, which continued to sustain them. These men knew God, in answer to their prayer had sent the seagull. They drifted for two more weeks. And on the twenty-first day, they were spotted by search planes, and rescued. These survivors were sustained because of a lone seagull that came in answer to prayer.

Indeed there are those times in life, where we desperately need God to intervene for us to survive. If we can only trust in God, He will surely show up and show Himself mighty on our behalf. It doesn’t matter how difficult things may sometimes look, God is still in the business of turning things around. He can do exceedingly abundantly above all you could ever think or imagine. One good break, one idea, one person God divinely connects to you, can suddenly change your story. You won’t fathom or understand how it may happen, but things will just fall into place.  That is the goodness of God in manifestation. Psalm 75 says promotion does not come from the east, west or south, it comes only from God.

So whatever miracle you are believing God for today, know that He is more than able to bring it to pass.  One touch of His favor can tip you into the reward of hundred years of labor. Indeed with God all things are possible.  Your weeping may have endured through the night but now joy is coming your way. A speedy answer is coming to your prayer.

Romans 8:28 says  ‘ And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose’

Indeed all things are working together for your good. That is why we praise God and bless Him at all times because we know He is in perfect control of our lives.  And no matter how initially discouraging any situation, surely there is an end, and your expectations shall not be cut off. Therefore keep celebrating your God and keep making your boast in Him. He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion. He will surely see you through. He is the God of all possibilities. And even right now, He is bringing an answer to your deepest heart cry. He will indeed perfect all that concerns you today in Jesus Name.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for speedy answers to my prayers. I know that You are faithful and true, and Your promise never fails. Thank You Lord for doing for me exceedingly, abundantly above all I could ever ask or imagine in Jesus Name.

Acts 6:4  “But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.”

DAILY READING     Philippians 4; Ezekiel 24; Isaiah 52

It takes power to go up. As we all know from experience, gravity is a constant force that never shuts off.  It is constantly exerting a “downward” force on every object within its range. And so in order to move any object upward, you need to apply an upward force that’s greater than the downward force of gravity. In other words, you need to be accelerating the object up harder than gravity is pulling it down.

A rockets need so much fuel in order to overcome Earth’s gravity. And to meet this need for enough power to go up, fuel-based rocket,  have to carry much fuel, so much so that 90% of the weight of a typical rocket is fuel. And in order for all that fuel to lift itself up off the ground  the rocket needs to generate an enormous amount of acceleration. Most rockets are made up of two or three stages. When a stage has used up all of its fuel, it is separated to get rid of the dead weight. It then falls back , usually into the ocean and far from populated areas, or burns up in the atmosphere.

Rockets have to travel about 25,000 miles per hour to get into space… that’s at least seven miles per second. A rocket will keep speeding up as long as the force pushing it upwards  is greater than the forces pulling it downwards. But once in orbit, with no more gravity to overcome, the spacecraft can then “coast” along without expending any more energy .

Indeed it takes power to go up.  A spacecraft uses most of its energy getting up into space. And it must keep pushing up, because as soon as it stops pushing upward, gravity will begin to slow down it’s upward acceleration, and eventually reverse its upward progress and make it start accelerating back to earth.

This is a great spiritual truth, which explains why we constantly need to be empowered, through maintaining a prayerful lifestyle. To go up in life, we need great power. It is only by the exercise of great power that we can overcome the forces of the enemy. Psalm 66:3  says “Through the greatness of thy power shall thy enemy submit themselves unto thee.”

Indeed life is a warfare. And it is our power level that determines our level of dominion. The greater your power, the more you can dominate.  And Supernatural empowerment answers to an effectual prayer life.

In Acts 6:4 the disciples declared “But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.” And the effect of this was that power kept on erupting, resulting in miracles, signs and wonders!

We are in the last days which are the days of God’s power. As such, every child of God is empowered to operate in the realms of supernatural exploits.

John 1:12 says ‘for as many as received Him, to them He gave power to become sons of God.’

With salvation comes a level of power, but we need to keep increasing that power, because the battles of life are getting hotter everyday. In the school of power, power is in degrees. Though, Jesus was anointed without measure, yet He kept going to the mountain of prayer to increase His power. We increase our power through a strong prayer life and study of The Word of God.

It is our depth in the Word that determines our level of dominion. You can’t dominate the world until you are dominated by God through His Word. To fly high, we must therefore determine to pay the required price of spending time in The Word of God and maintaining a fervent prayer life.

PRAYER: Lord, Please grant me a renewed desire for Your Word and prayer, so that I can be empowered to fly to the great heights You have ordained for me this year in Jesus Name.

Isaiah 45:22  ‘Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.’

Prisoners are often happy to end their term and depart from prison. However in 2016, a prisoner held at Guantanamo Bay prison camp refused to leave his prison, even after he had been set free.  The Guantanamo Bay detention camp is a United States military prison located within  Cuba. In 2009, there was an executive order from the US government mandating the gradual closure of Guantánamo Bay. As a result prison authorities began to reduce the number of prisoners at the camp. One of the prisoners was a Yemen-born, Al-Queda militant, who after 14 years of captivity was finally given his freedom. However instead of being returned back to Afghanistan,  he had been relocated to a new town where he would begin life anew, having agreed to put terrorism behind him. Finally on the day of his release, he was taken to the airport to board a plane.  But at the last minute he panicked and refused to enter the plane scheduled for him. He asked to be taken back to his prison, his reason  being that he was afraid of the new environment, he was being sent to, . He didn’t want to go to the country where he was being relocated to. His refusal perplexed prison authorities but when he refused to change his decision, he had to be returned back to the prison to stay on indefinitely with no further hope of soon being released.

 Zechariah 9;11-12 says ‘As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water. Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare that I will render double unto thee;’

Here, God has not only delivered us from prison but also has promised to render unto us double for our trouble. But due to the limitations of the mind, many are afraid to step out into the great and mighty things God has for them. They look at their circumstances, rather than focus on God’s grace and mighty power. God is displeased when limitations are placed on His deliverance ability. .

Psalm 78;40 – 42  says ‘How oft did they provoke him in the wilderness, and grieve him in the desert! Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.’

In the wilderness, the Israelites vexed the Holy One of Israel by not  remembering His power and the mighty signs and wonders He showed in Egypt when delivering them from Pharoah. Likewise, no matter what confronts us,  we must always focus on God’s amazing deliverance power.  God has the ability, the capacity,  the power, wherewithal and resources to exceed our every expectations. Ephesians 3:20 tells us that God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. Indeed there is nothing God cannot do.  He is God Almighty, the King of kings, the LORD of lords, the Ancient of days, the Controller of the universe, the One Who speaks and it stands fast.

In Isaiah 45:22 God says ‘Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.’

Indeed our deliverance is only in God hands. He is the El-Shaddai, the All-Powerful more than enough God. Matthew 19:26 says “…with God all things are possible.” This means that God  can go beyond any kind of limitation; He cannot be limited by space. He asked in Jeremiah 23:24 “Do I not fill heaven and earth’.

Jesus , came to the earth to make God’s deliverance power available to us. He died at Calvary to break every barrier in our lives and pave for us a new and living way by His blood. And today, by the blood of Jesus, every wall or boundary that hemmed you in has been broken in Jesus Mighty Name. Today is your day to take the limits off. It’s time to shake off the past and embrace an amazing new future. Do not allow fear to hinder you from taking steps forward. Know today that there is no force in the universe that can stop you from fulfilling your God-given destiny when God is for you. Indeed if God be for you, who can be against you? There is no limit to His power in your life! Therefore don’t settle for less than God’s best. Don’t settle for the ordinary when you were designed for the extraordinary. It’s time to Break Out! Jesus has indeed set you free from all limitations!

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to keep my focus on You at all times. I know indeed that by the power in the Blood of Jesus, I have been set free from every limitations in Jesus Name.

Mark 11:24 ‘What things so ever you desire when you pray believe that you receive them and you shall have them’

In August 2002, major News outlets carried the story of a young boy who survived multiple snakebites through the power of prayer. On August 26th, 2002, in St. Augustine Florida, seven year old Matthew Carrera and his older brother were waiting for their father to take them to school when they decided to go into a nearby bush to look for a baseball they had lost the day before. But while there, suddenly Matthew was struck by a rattlesnake, not once, but five times. The two boys screaming came running out of the bush. When their father, realized what had happened, immediately he sped off with them to the hospital, praying and calling upon God’s intervention. It was a race against time. As the venom of the snake began attacking  Mathew’s vital organs, the young boy passed out in the car. At the hospital, the emergency room team worked desperately to save Mathew, eventually a helicopter airlifted him to the critical care unit of Wolfsons Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. His chances of survival were very slim, in fact doctors didn’t expect him to survive that day. His  body was in shock and despite the large doses of antivenim being pumped into him, the venom was destroying the tissue in his leg. And his kidneys and liver showed signs of failing.  However Mathew’s  parents being Christians, understood the power of prayer. And so they rallied family members and friends to begin praying ceaselessly for Mathew. Miraculously, Mathew not only survived that day but survived many more days to come. And though various complications arose, Mathew’s family persisted in their prayers, until eventually God gave them the victory. Soon Mathew was well enough to be discharged from the hospital. His recovery totally amazed the medical doctors who saw him as a walking miracle.

James 5:16 says: ‘The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much’.

Indeed there is power in prevailing prayer. A man who will fervently persist in the place of prayer, will have his answers.

Mark 11:24 tells us ‘What things so ever you desire when you pray believe that you receive them and you shall have them’

This is the promise of God. That whatsoever we desire, when we pray and believe, God will answer us. It doesn’t matter how impossible the situation, as long as we can pray about it, God is committed to answer. Getting answers in prayers requires resoluteness and a certain stubbornness. You have to decide  that you will not quit until you get your result. God does not store prayers, He answers them.

But we have to learn to persevere until the answer comes. The key is persistence. Refuse to give up. It is often when God is about to do a great work in your life that the enemy comes against you with his strongest weapons.  The enemy knows that if you persist you will receive, this is why he tries to discourage and weary you to give up before your answer comes. But make up your mind to keep praying because you know God has promised you an answer and He keeps His promises. Indeed prayer works. However we must be willing to pay the price of persistence, because persistence wears down every resistance.

Perhaps in this season, you have been praying for certain things, but are yet to see your desired answers. Don’t give up. Keep pressing in, keep faith alive by feeding on God’s Word. It’s not about the length of your prayer, but the strength of your faith. Keep knocking and don’t give up, your time is coming. You will reap if you faint not. You will see your greatest dreams come to pass – when you refuse to be a quitter. Whatever, you are believing God for today, make up your mind to keep pushing in prayer until something happens. Surely there is an end, and your expectations shall not be cut off.

PRAYER: Lord, please  grant me the grace to persevere in the place of prayer until my answer comes,. No matter how discouraging situations may sometimes seem, please Lord,  help me not to grow weary but rather to persist until I see my desired result in Jesus Name.  .
