A Rocket uses up most of its energy when getting into space. This is so because a rocket needs much fuel to overcome Earth’s gravity as it rises. Gravity is a constant force that never shuts off.  It is constantly exerting a “downward” force on every object within its range. And in order for a rocket to move up, an upward force greater than the downward force of gravity needs to be applied. If the rocket stops pushing upward and stops opposing the pull of gravity, then the gravity will slow down its upward acceleration, and eventually reverse its upward progress and make it to start falling back to earth.

Therefore to have enough power to go up, fuel-based rockets,  have to carry much fuel. In fact 90% of the weight of a typical rocket is fuel. And in order for all that fuel to lift itself up off the ground  the rocket needs to generate an enormous amount of acceleration. Most rockets are made up of two or three stages. When a stage has used up all of its fuel, to get rid of the dead weight, it separates itself and then falls back, usually into the ocean or burns up in the atmosphere.

Rockets have to travel about 25,000 miles per hour to get into space… that’s at least seven miles per second. A rocket will keep speeding up as long as the force pushing it upwards  is greater than the forces pulling and pushing it downwards. But once in orbit, with no more gravity to overcome, the spacecraft can then “coast” along without expending any more energy .

There is a great spiritual truth to be learned from this. It explains why we constantly need to build up spiritual power through maintaining a prayerful lifestyle. Indeed to go up in life, we need great power. It is only by the exercise of great power that we can overcome the forces of the enemy. Psalm 66:3  says “Through the greatness of thy power shall thy enemy submit themselves unto thee.”

Indeed life is a warfare. And it is our power level that determines our level of dominion. The greater your power, the more you can dominate.  And Supernatural empowerment answers to an effectual prayer life.

In Acts 6:4 the disciples declared “But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.” And the effect of this was that power kept on erupting, resulting in miracles, signs and wonders!

We are in the last days which are the days of God’s power. As such, every child of God is empowered to operate in the realms of supernatural exploits. John 1:12 says ‘for as many as received Him, to them He gave power to become sons of God.’

With salvation comes a level of power, but we need to keep increasing that power, because the battles of life are getting hotter every day. Though, Jesus was anointed without measure, yet He kept going to the mountain of prayer to increase His power. We increase our power through diligent study of God’s Word and a strong prayer life, especially praying in the Holy Ghost. The more we pray in tongues, the more we are supernaturally charged up and empowered. Indeed to fly high, we must be adequately empowered to be able to overcome every resistance and opposition.

It is our depth in God that determines our height in life. You can’t dominate the world until you are dominated by God. Therefore to rise up to that place of glory God has ordained for us this year, we must be willing to pay the price for power. As we commit ourselves to the study of God’s Word, passionate praise and a fervent prayer life, we shall indeed be soaring from glory to glory…

PRAYER: Lord, Please grant me a renewed desire for Your Word and prayer, so that I can be empowered to soar to the great heights of glory You have ordained for me this year, by Your grace I will not fall back, nor grow weary in Jesus Name.

The Hubble Space Telescope is the most famous – and probably most successful – space observatory ever launched into space. Circling the earth every 96 minutes, it has travelled more than 5 billion kilometers taking pictures of planets, stars and galaxies.

The huge amount of scientific data and incredibly detailed images of object in space, captured by the Hubble telescope, has led to scientific breakthroughs.  It has provided dramatic pictures of deep space like no other telescope in history. It has given photographs that show clouds of hydrogen gas towering nearly 6 trillion miles high. It has given a glimpse of a “stellar nursery,” an area in the constellation Orion where “stars are mass-produced by the dozen”.

Hubble telescope has captured pictures of stars being born and also of stars dying. It has also captured pictures of galaxies that are trillions of miles away. Some of these pictures are so breathtakingly beautiful that after viewing space through the Hubble telescope, astronomers used words like ‘awestruck’, ‘overwhelmed’, and ‘amazed’ to describe their reactions.

The Hubble telescope has indeed helped to reveal the wonders of creation.

However, beyond the pictures, more awe-inspiring is the One who created them all. The beauty of creation speak in eloquent praise of God’s amazing power. When we look at all that God has made we are compelled to stand in awe and worship Him continually. Indeed we serve the God of wonders. God is awesome not only in nature, but also in our lives. He does wonders without number.  It is good to know that  the same God who calls the stars by name also knows us by name. And just as He has not failed with running the universe, He cannot fail with running our lives.

Therefore no matter what faces you today, know that you serve the God who rules in absolute power and is able to win every battle for you. To tangibly engage His Presence, switch to praise. Praise stirs God into action. High praises will bring the God of wonders on the scene. And in every battle arena, when the God of wonders appear, every enemy will quickly disappear.

Indeed God’s Presence is our strongest defense in any battle. Romans 8:31 says ‘If God be for us who can be against us?’ Surely when God arises for you all your enemies will be scattered. High praises provoke manifold manifestations of God’s power, causing Him to do the unexpected, unprecedented and inexplicable for us. And by His mighty manifestations, men know that we are indeed serving the living God.

Today, as you praise the God of wonders, be assured that every enemy of your glorious destiny will be scattered, even as you experience amazing miracles, signs and wonders.

PRAYER: Lord, You are indeed the God of wonders, thank You for Your miracles, signs and wonders in my life.  Today, as I praise You, I thank You for going ahead of me and taking over my battles and showing Yourself mighty on my behalf in Jesus Name.

On December 29, 1972, Eastern Air Lines Flight 401 was bound for Miami from New York City with a load of holiday passengers. As the huge aircraft approached the Miami Airport for its landing, a light that indicates proper deployment of the landing gear failed to come on. The plane flew in a large, looping circle over the swamps of the Everglades while the cockpit crew checked out the light failure. Their question was this, had the landing gear actually not deployed or was it just the light bulb that was defective?

To begin with, the flight engineer fiddled with the bulb. He tried to remove it, but it wouldn’t budge. Another member of the crew tried to help out…and then another. And eventually, unbelievably, all eyes were on the little light bulb that refused to be dislodged from its socket. With the distraction, no one noticed that the autopilot had inadvertently been disconnected and, as a result, the aircraft gradually was losing altitude. Finally, the plane dropped and crashed into the Florida Everglades, causing 101 fatalities. The pilots and the flight engineer, two of 10 flight attendants, and 96 of 163 passengers died; 75 passengers and crew survived. The crash occurred while the entire cockpit crew was preoccupied with a burnt-out landing gear indicator light. The experienced crew of high-priced and seasoned pilots had focused on a seventy-five-cent light bulb, while an entire airplane and many of its passengers were lost. It became one of the most notorious plane crashes in history, because the pilot failed to focus on flying the plane but had rather focused on a little light bulb!

Similarly such loss of focus has led to the crash of many destinies. Indeed you can’t achieve great things if you’re distracted by small things.

Matthew 14:29-30 says ‘And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.”

The Lord had called Peter to do the impossible; to walk on water. Peter had obeyed and stepped out by faith. His journey was going on well, when suddenly distractions came. And the moment he took his eyes off The Master and began to focus on these distractions he began to sink.

Indeed distractions can be deadly on the journey of destiny.

Like Peter, God has called many of us to achieve the impossible this year. We have stepped out by faith and began to walk on the water, towards our goal. If only we will keep walking, we will soon reach our destination of glory.

But then oftentimes, we find we have to contend with the roar of distractions. The storm and rain will often come to beat upon the house we are building, trying to get it to fall. Boisterous winds of challenges will suddenly erupt to try to stop our journey.  However the depth of our foundation and focus on God’s instruction will determine what happens to us.

We have to look away from those things that are trying to distract and entangle us in the yoke of bondage. No matter how boisterous the wind we must keep walking towards our destination. Ignore the rumbling voices and negative talk and Keep your eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your faith. Distractions are side attractions that try to shift your attention from your main purpose. Distractions are usually noisy and the aim is to arrest your focus so that you could be displaced from your goal. But the truth is that if you mind the opposition you will lose your position.

Winston Churchill said, “You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones at every dog that barks.”

In this present age, the enemy is bringing up all kinds of distractions to shift men from their divine call and purpose. Mass distraction has hit the world like never before in this end times and is knocking many people off course, as they spend precious hours on what doesn’t matter.

Hebrews 12:1-2, [NIV] says  “…Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith…”

Keep your eyes on Jesus, irrespective of what comes your way. Keep looking up, because those who look at the sun do not see the shadows that fall behind. On this journey if you look down, you will see discouragement and disappointment; if you look back, you will see regrets and mistakes; if you look around, you will see distractions, but if you look up, you will see victory and triumph. Let us therefore keep looking up to Jesus via His Word, fervent prayers and praise. By focusing on God’s call and ignoring the noise of the wind. we will walk on the water and not sink.  Your glory days are just around the corner, and as you keep your focus on Jesus and ignore the noise of distractions you will surely soon reach your destination of glory.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for the grace to keep my focus on the race before me, no matter what happens around me. Please help me to make Your plan and purpose always top priority in my life. By Your grace I have overcome every distraction in Jesus Name. .

Kenneth E. Hagin’s book “Redeemed From Poverty, Sickness, and Spiritual Death”, tells the story of John Alexander Dowie and how he received revelation on the subject of divine healing that revolutionized his ministry. John Alexander Dowie was a man of God who shook the world at the turn of the 19th century by the unusual anointing upon his life. Untold millions came to a revelation of Christ through his ministry. It was said that by the time he was only six years old, he had read the Bible from cover to cover and at twenty-one years of age, he answered the call to ministry.
In 1875, Dowie began pastoring a large congregation in a suburb of Sydney called Newton. While in Newton, a disastrous bubonic plague began to ravage the area and filled the inhabitants with terror. Within weeks of his arrival, Dowie presided over forty funerals in his congregation alone. After visiting the many sick members of his flock one day, Dowie returned home and sat in his study, his arms folded upon his desk, his head upon his arms, he wept before God.
‘God, is everybody going to die?’ he cried. As he studied the Bible, seeking for a way out, suddenly the words found in Acts 10:38 stood out before him as a light; “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”. At that moment he saw Christ as the Healer. Opportunity for the manifestation of this revelation came almost immediately as two messengers came bidding him to pray for a girl who was dying. Dowie rushed to her house and when he arrived he found her lying there, grinding her teeth and groaning in agony. The medical doctor, having given up on her, was preparing to leave. At that moment something in Dowie snapped and he began to cry out to God. Furious at the devil’s attack upon the young girl, Dowie then prayed the prayer of faith and the girl’s convulsions immediately ceased, and she fell into a deep sleep. When she woke up she was totally healed. From there Dowie began to pray for other sick members of his congregation who also got immediately healed. And from that day on, John Alexander Dowie never lost another one of his church members to the plague.
Today, we are in an era where the world is being constantly threatened by epidemic of different plagues.. And more than ever we need the instant healing power of the Blood of Jesus. We can no longer depend on medical science because they are limited in the solution they can offer. At this time we need to fully engage the deliverance power in the blood. Through faith in the Blood of Jesus we can receive instant deliverance from any affliction.
The New Testament era is indeed the era of instant manifestations. The word ‘Immediately’ occurs 55 times in the KJV Bible, all of which are in the New Testament and most of which refer to healing and deliverance: All who came to Jesus during his earthly ministry received instant healing. And because He is the same yesterday, today and forever, anyone who comes to Him today also experiences instant deliverance. (Hebrews 13:8).

At the cross, Christ paid for our healing and deliverance by His blood. But just like Alexander Dowie we need a personal revelation to be able to appropriate the benefits in the Blood of Jesus. Through a deep understanding of the price Christ paid at Calvary we can activate the instant healing power in the Blood. While the world may be gripped by the fear of plagues we stand assured that our case is different. By the violence of faith we will make an open show of the devil in this end-time as we display immunity to diseases.
As we study The Word we shall receive spiritual illumination that will empower us to dominate all activities of darkness. Whatever you may be confronted with today, in your health, family or finances, be assured that victory belongs to you through The Blood! Indeed through the power in Blood of Jesus we are more than conquerors over every affliction of the enemy.

PRAYER: Lord, Please grant me the grace to fill my heart constantly with Your Word. Indeed by the revelation of the Blood of Jesus, I receive instant healing and deliverance from every form of affliction in Jesus Name.

–DAILY READING • Romans 11:25-36; 1 Samuel 21-22; Psalm 66

Jack Coe was one of the pioneers of the Voice of Healing Revival that swept through America during the 1930’s to the 1950’s. Nicknamed “the man of reckless faith”, he stood out among all the great ministers of that period because of the extra-ordinary healing anointing on his life.
However it is interesting to note that before he came into full time ministry, he was so sold out to God that he was once thought to be crazy. When he first received the baptism of the Holy Ghost, it was so intense that he spoke non-stop in tongues for 3 days, and could only communicate by writing on paper. Then after spending a year in the Assemblies of God Bible college, in 1941, Jack Coe was enlisted into the U.S army during world war 2.
However, while serving in the army, his superiors found his behavior to be ‘strange’. On fire for God, he didn’t let his military duties disrupt his spiritual schedule. He faithfully attended Church services every night and shunned the rowdy behavior of soldiers. He also prayed often and openly witnessed to his fellow soldiers unashamedly. Some of the things he did like speaking in tongues made his superiors to begin to question his mental health. He was thought to be some religious fanatic and was even sent to a base psychiatrist to be evaluated for his seemingly ‘strange behavior’. After an examination, Coe was confined to the psychiatric ward for observation because the doctor thought he might be suffering from some psychological neurosis. After the doctors concluded that he wasn’t a danger to himself or others, he was later released. Finally when his service in the army was over, he was able to passionately pursue his longing to preach the Gospel. In 1944 he was ordained a minister of the Assemblies of God church in Springfield, Missouri. And from there he would go on to worldwide evangelism and became one of the greatest preachers of his time. He held revival meetings underneath what was then the largest gospel tent in the world, with a seating capacity of 22,500. He was also one of the first evangelists to host a regular television program and a daily radio broadcast.
Indeed like Jack Coe, the desire to preach the Gospel should be like fire in our bones. It is those who are truly sold out to God today that will stand out tomorrow.
No matter the places or situations we find ourselves, we must keep our fire burning brightly. This fire burning in us is the undying zeal and passion for Christ. It is the zeal to proclaim the Gospel wherever we go. Zeal is that inward excitement that pushes us forward to accomplish our mission. Psalm 69:9 says ‘For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up… ‘. When the zeal of God consumes us, every other factor becomes subsidiary.
When a man is on fire, he is like a city set on an hill that cannot be hidden. Like a forest fire – you can smell it, taste it, and see it from a mile away. It doesn’t matter if the world calls you crazy or even think you are fanatical. We live in a day and time where we simply cannot afford not to be on fire for Christ. Gross moral darkness covers the earth and sin abounds everywhere. It is in this crooked and depraved generation that we are to shine for the Lord. As sons of God we are to shine like stars in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation. When people see this fire of Christ burning through us they are attracted, warmed and want to have what we have.
However we must be spiritually on guard so that our fire does not burn out.. Many who started out on fire for God, ended up losing the fervency they once had. For these people the Great Commission has now become the great omission because soul-winning is no longer a passionate pursuit. Therefore to keep our light constantly burning we must stay in close fellowship with The Lord, by having times set aside to wait on The Lord in prayer, fasting, worship and study of The Word. Such seasons of prayer keep our fire burning brightly…
Understand that the devil is not after your material things but after your spiritual life because that is what controls the overall quality of your life. Whatever can steal your prayer life can steal anything from you. Especially as we have received great prophesies for this year, we must war in the place of prayers so at to deal with the oppositions that try to steal the fulfillment of these prophecies. (1 Corinthians 16:9).

Indeed through waiting upon The lord in this season we shall keep our fire burning brightly and receive the strength to mount up with wings as eagles into the destiny of glory God has prepared for us.

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to keep my light burning as I run the race set before me this year. As I wait upon You in this season I receive strength to soar, and mount up with wings to the place of glory You have ordained for me in Jesus Name.

DAILY READING; •  Romans 11:1-24; 1 Samuel 20; Psalm 65

An 80 year old woman, Zhang Ru Zhen, was the first novel coronavirus casualty in Sichuan province of China. On January 20, she had come down with the fever and was hospitalized. As she lay in a coma, somehow God opened a window, and she became conscious for a few minutes, in those precious minutes  Pastor Peng Qiang of the Blessings Reformed Presbyterian Church was able to share the gospel with her.  She received the message of salvation and accepted Christ just shortly before her death.

This is an example of how Christians in China are shinning their lights in the surrounding darkness. For a few weeks now the Chinese town of Wuhan, the epicenter of the epidemic,  has been on a lockdown. Yet believers there are using all sorts of ways to broadcast the Gospel to their fellow residents , even playing audio Gospel messages from their balconies for all to hear.

Indeed if there’s a silver lining in the Coronavirus epidemic, it is that Christ is being made known in China. Despite past persecution of Christians by Chinese authorities, the Church in China has now become a beacon of hope in the crisis. Against the risk of persecution and infection, Christians are tirelessly working to spread the gospel.  Currently one of the most valuable items in Wuham are protective masks because there are no more shops selling them, but Christians, as they distribute tracts also give out free masks. Day after day, these Christians donning their full yellow protective suit hit the streets preaching . They are now being called “angels in yellow” by the appreciative residents of Wuhan.

Indeed Christ is being revealed in this crisis.

It is amazing that despite the fearful situation in Wuhan, these Christians are defying the odds and stepping out with boldness to shine the light of Christ to their world.

Anyone who will be used of God in this end-times must be willing to die to self and shun fear.  We really have to make a difference in our world by making impact with the Gospel.

We are created to be the light of our world. And through the light we shine, others will be plucked out of darkness, confusion, poverty, sickness and death. The time has come for us to actively tell the world about Christ. We cannot hoard the good news of the Gospel in the midst of a dying world. Every stagnant water stinks, so we must have to flow out and let the world know about the God we serve.

You must determine therefore to take your place among those who will boldly stand out and shine for Christ. We are in a time when kingdom sons are rising, those who will shine as stars in the firmament of the heavens. And soul winning is the key to shining in God’s Kingdom.

Daniel 12:3 says ‘And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. ‘

Indeed those who do the work of an evangelist will shine as stars in God’s kingdom. There is so much God wants to do with us in this end-times, but it is only those who know their God that can do exploits.  And we know God through spending time in His Presence through studying The Word, worship and prayers. Indeed when we know God intimately, our heart will receive an inoculation of faith that will cause to step out boldly and make a difference in the world around us.

PRAYER: Lord, please grant me the boldness to step out and  do exploits in Your Name. By Your grace I will no longer hide Your light within me, but will step out and make Your power known to the world around me in Jesus mighty name.

John G. Lake was known as God’s “Apostle to Africa”. In 1908, God sent him to South Africa, where his anointed miracle ministry resulted in an extensive and powerful missionary movement in the African continent. Indeed he was among the greatest preachers mightily used of God in the 20th century.

However before entering into full time ministry and recording these amazing manifestations of God’s power, Lake was a businessman who was simply hungry for God. The response of his soul to the Spirit was an intense longing for consciousness of God’s Presence. Speaking in his book, ‘John G. Lake – Apostle to Africa’, Lake wrote ”I believe I was the hungriest man for God that ever lived. My soul was demanding a greater entrance into God, His love, Presence, and Power’

As a business man, he set aside certain hours of the day that he dedicated to God, as times of meditation, and prayer. While he went about his daily affair his spirit remained in constant communion with God through a ceaseless flow of prayer.

With such desperation and hunger, it was not long before God responded and began to move mightily in his life, manifesting great miracles and wonders through his ministry. He spent five history-making years in South Africa, engaged in a ministry which could be likened to that of the early Church, in its manifestations of miracles, signs and wonders. Upon his return to America, Lake established a ministry in Spokane, Washington which resulted in no less than 100,000 astounding miracles of healing within the space of five or six years. He then established a similar work in Portland, Oregon, where there were also mighty eruptions of God’s power.

Indeed it is when we seek, that we find. God is committed to filling those who hunger and thirst after righteousness. To encounter God’s power we must be hungry for it.

Mathew 5: 6 says ‘Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled.’

Every prize demands a price, and progress in life calls for a pressing in. There are wonderful things to be had in the Spirit, but we must press in to where they are. The treasures of life are never on the surface but in the depths. There are mighty manifestations of power and glory, miracles signs and wonders, awaiting us when we pay the price to press into the depths.

As a child of God, you are meant to live an amazing life. You are the light of your world, a city set on a hill that cannot be hid. Men are meant to look up to you. They are meant to come to you for answers and solutions, you are meant to rule in the midst of them and be the head and never the tail.

All these will come into manifestation when we pay the price, and press into the depth where the power of God is. We must come to that place where we are totally hungry for God and diligently seek His face. The place of God in our heart determines our placing upon the earth.
To be mightily used of God in this end times, we must accept full spiritual responsibility. Especially as we step out to preach the Gospel in this season, we must be willing to pay whatever price it takes to be on fire for God. We cannot give what we do not have, hence we need to be on fire first, before the hearts of men can be ignited by the Gospel we preach.
Lev 6:13 says the fire shall ever be burning upon the altar, it shall never go out.

To ensure the fire keeps burning on the altar of our hearts, we must constantly feed on God’s Word. Because where no wood is the fire goes out. But the more we are filled with the wood of the Word, the more we will be on fire and greatly win souls for Christ.

PRAYER:

Lord, Please help me to pay whatever price is required of me to seek Your face diligently, for I know that when I seek You and find You, there shall be a reward and my expectations shall not be cut off in Jesus Name.

DAILY READING -Romans 9:1-29; 1 Samuel 17:55-18:30; Psalm 63

When eagles walk on the ground, they are clumsy and do not walk gracefully,. This is because they are not designed to walk or dwell on the ground. But when eagles fly they are majestic and beautiful as they soar, because they are created to live above.
Eagles are one of the largest, most powerful and most admired birds in the world. They are a symbol of freedom and power.
This amazing bird lives in high altitudes, building enormous nests high in the treetops. They soar higher than any other bird because they understand thermal currents and use it to their advantage.
When an eagle first leaves the ground, it gains altitude by flapping its wings. The flapping motion causes air to flow faster over the top of the wings, and the bird rises.. They take advantage of higher speed winds to keep their heavy bodies aloft. The eagle is characterized with speed, strength, power, boldness, focus, courage and great vision.
Indeed in its truest authentic form, the eagle reflects the potential, strength, vision and courage that lies in each one of us. Like the eagle, we are born to be high flyers. We are created to glide above. That is where we belong.

Isaiah 40:31 says ‘But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint’.

When you wait upon The Lord, you receive strength that enables you to soar above. You are created to ride upon the high places of life. You are not meant to dwell in the low places. Like the eagle, God has created us for the top most places in life. Therefore when you operate below, you struggle because you are out of your element.

Deuteronomy 28:13 says The Lord shall make you the head, and not the tail; and you shall be above only, and you shall not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God.’

By covenant every child of God, who heeds His commandments is a highflyer.
You are meant to soar above and excel in life. You belong to the top.
Therefore, do not limit yourself, indeed you can do all things through Christ that strengthens you.
Therefore let us be encouraged to wait upon The lord in prayers and daily feeding on His Word. In this season God is opening great doors and opportunities for His people because it is our year to see glory. And by His grace we shall be mounting up with wings as eagles, we shall run, and not be weary; and walk, and not faint.

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to develop a culture of deep study of Your Word; grant me also the grace to wait upon You continually, so that I can mount up with wings as eagles and ride upon my high places, in this season in Jesus Name.

DAILY READING – Romans 8; 1 Samuel 17:1-54; Psalm 62

Doris Duke, heiress to the American Tobacco Company fortune, was once one of the richest women in the world. She had a fortune estimated at billions of dollars and had fabulous houses in Hawaii, Newport, Beverley Hills, and New York City. When she was about to get married, her wealth was so vast, that the U.S. government had to draw up her prenuptial agreement. When they presented her husband with the document, upon the realization of her net worth, he fainted. The issue of her wealth and the resultant distrust eventually led to the failure of Doris’ marriage, as she was never sure if her husband loved her or her money.

Although she was a fixture on the international social scene, yet she remained desperately lonely, because she was unsure if anyone truly loved her for herself or for her wealth. After two failed marriages Duke became a semi-recluse. Because of her great fortune, she was always suspicious of relationships, especially after realizing that people were going to great lengths to try to win her affection. Unable to trust anyone, she lived a lonely life and eventually died alone at her Beverly Hills mansion, without family or friends.

Many people in the world today like Doris Duke, are desperately seeking for true love. The Samaritan woman was someone who had been burned by bad relationships. She had been in relationship with six men, but was still not satisfied. She had been looking for love in the wrong places. But that day by the well she came face to face with love personified.

John 4:13-14 says ‘Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.’

Other things may pacify, but only God’s love can truly satisfy. When you are thirsty, you can drink coke, Pepsi or any other soft drink, but your thirst will not be truly quenched until you drink water. The same way we can receive love from diverse relationships, but the only love that can  truly satisfy us is the love that comes from God.

Part of what we want from friendships is to know that the other person won’t leave us, no matter what is encountered.  Even if we disclose our deepest scars and they see our worst imperfections, we would  still like to know that through thick and thin they will still be there for us.  But that is not always the case.  And because we have had too many bad examples of human love, we find it hard sometimes to understand divine love. But God’s love is unconditional, it is everlasting.

Jeremiah 31:3 says ‘The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.’

We don’t have to be broken from place to place and person to person looking for true love. When life has wounded you and you find yourself falling, be assured that God’s hand can catch you and keep you from hitting rock bottom. In Deuteronomy 33:27 God says He is our refuge, and His everlasting arms are ever under us.

And to truly understand the love of God we have to have an in-depth knowledge of His Word. It is through His Word that we begin to grasp the height and depth and reach of His amazing love that passes understanding. And as we begin to receive His love and respond to it, then our lives will be truly transformed.

It doesn’t matter what you may be facing right now, be rest assured that God loves you very much. He has loved you with an everlasting love. He has been using different circumstances to draw you closer to Him. Whatever may be the circumstance surrounding you today, God will always be there for you, He will uphold you with the right hand of His righteousness and He will never leave you nor forsake you.

And as we have experienced the love of Christ, let us also share this love with the hurting world around us, by spreading the good news of the Gospel continually.

PRAYER: Lord, please grant me a greater revelation of  Your love so that my life can be revolutionized. Thank You also for igniting in me a deeper hunger of Your Word so that through indepth study, I can truly be established in Your amazing love in Jesus Name.

Paula Ann Hiers Deen is an American TV personality and cooking show host. She is someone who learnt to escape from the prison of fear. Years ago, after several tragedies in her life, she had developed severe agoraphobia, suffered panic attacks and was afraid to even leave her house. Almost penniless, she was also trying to raise two teenage sons alone.
But she had been brought up in the Baptist faith and would turn to God for help in this dark season of her life. Still battling with fear and too afraid to walk in public places, she then began an indoor catering service as something she could do without leaving the house. Starting with only $200, she would make the food and her sons would deliver them to customs. Soon things began to look up financially for her and her home business outgrew her kitchen. Through faith in God she eventually overcame her battle with fear, and in January 1996, with her sons, she opened a restaurant in Savannah, Georgia. Within a few years, the restaurant’s reputation quickly spread, and by 1999 her restaurant, named ‘The Lady & Sons’ had received international recognition.
Paula Dean eventually landed her own TV show, published 15 cookbooks, and even had a role in a movie. Today she is one of America’s most beloved television chefs, and it all started when she realized that the power that dwelt inside of her was greater than the fear that tried to hold her back.
Joshua 1:9 NIV says ‘Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Many people today are afraid to move forward and take the territories God has already given them in the realm of the spirit. A man may be full of zeal and passion and vision, but by the time he begins to consider the greatness of the obstacles he needs to overcome, fear of the unknown gets him deflated.
Fear is a stopper of men’s progress. It is what the enemy uses to distort reality and try to keep people from moving forward. As a result many people instead of progressing with their dreams, are stuck with their fears, mostly because they are thinking of security instead of opportunity.
The truth is that you can overcome the fears trying to hold you back and move into the fullness of God’s plan for you. There will always be a Goliath between you and your throne. However, your conquest will be a function of your boldness, based on strong faith in God.
Whenever you face intimidating situations, learn to look up to God. The study of God’s Word and persistent prayers will always impart into your heart the faith that you need to overcome.
Deuteronomy 7:16 says “Thou shalt not be afraid of them: but shalt well remember what the Lord thy God did unto Pharaoh…”
When we look into the mirror of God’s Word, we are constantly put in remebrance of His migghty acts and this births faith in our hearts. Ultimately, it is faith in God that drives fear out of our lives. Therefore, find out what God says in His Word about you, meditate on it until faith rises in your heart and then begin to make bold declarations through prayers, claiming the promises of God over your life. As you press forward by faith it is only a matter of time before every goliath is defeated, allowing you to ascend the glorious throne ordained for you. Indeed by the power of The Spirit, every barrier of fear that has been holding you back in any area is broken today and you are now free to enter into your Canaan, flowing with milk and honey in Jesus Name.

PRAYER: Lord, I praise You today for granting me permanent victory over fear. Please grant me the grace to always walk on the narrow path of obedience to Your Word even as I remain persistent in prayers. By Your grace I shall surely ascend the throne You have ordained for me this year in Jesus Name.
