Deuteronomy 30:15–16 (NLT)
“Now listen! Today I am giving you a choice between life and death, between prosperity and disaster.
For I command you this day to love the Lord your God and to keep his commands, decrees, and regulations by walking in his ways. If you do this, you will live and multiply…”

As a teenager, Lester Sumrall was not deeply committed to God. But at seventeen years old, his life suddenly took a dramatic turn when he was diagnosed with tuberculosis. At that time, the disease was considered fatal, and doctors had little hope for his recovery. Weak and bedridden, he faced what seemed like the end of his life.
One night, while lying on his sickbed, Lester experienced a vivid vision. He saw two objects suspended before him. On one side was a coffin, symbolizing death. On the other side was a large open Bible. Then he heard a clear voice say, “Lester Sumrall, which of these will you choose tonight?”
With determination, Sumrall chose the Bible.
By the next morning, he found that he was miraculously healed of his infirmities.
From that turning point, Lester Sumrall dedicated his life to ministry. He preached in more than one hundred nations, established churches and ministries around the world, and wrote over 130 books. His destiny was shaped by a single decision—to choose God and His Word.

In Deuteronomy 30, God places a clear choice before His people: life or death, blessing or disaster. Though the options are presented by God, the decision belongs to us. Our choices determine the direction of our lives. Scripture shows that our destinies are largely shaped by the covenant choices we make.
When we align our lives with God’s commands, nothing can stop us from succeeding in life. No matter how great the odds, our faith in God’s Word will always overcome the world.
Lester Sumrall’s experience illustrates this truth. His life of affliction changed the moment he chose God’s Word. The same principle applies to us today. To experience divine healing, prosperity, and other blessings from God, we must follow the pathway that leads to them. Blessings flow where obedience goes.
When we deliberately choose to walk in God’s ways, His wisdom guides our decisions, His favor surrounds our efforts, and His power sustains our journey and causes us to do exploits.
Today, let us make the choice to prioritize God’s Word above all else, because that decision will truly change everything.

PRAYER
Father, I receive the grace today to choose the path of life by loving You and walking in obedience to Your Word. Help me to prioritize Your will above all else, so that Your glory will be fully manifested in my life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
