Ps 92:12

The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

In the land of Israel there are many palm trees. One outstanding characteristic of these palm trees is their straightness. The idea of uprightness in scripture is principally conveyed by two Hebrew words, “yashar”and “tam’, which mean straightness.

Even at heights of 60 to 80 feet, palm trees remain remarkably erect. During a storm, it can bend, even flatten almost horizontal to the ground, yet not break. Once the storm is over, it just pops back up to its original position.

News coverage of hurricane Katrina in 2005, gave a special coverage to the palm tree. After the worst hurricane that ever devastated the U.S; with houses destroyed, cars overturned, and tons of littered debris, many palm trees survived unaffected. While bigger trees snapped like toothpicks in the wind, the Palm Trees remained unbroken. This is because of its genetic make-up for flexibility. Scientists have found that storms actually makes palm trees stronger.

Psalm 92:12 says the palm tree flourishes despite oppositions. Through great storms, the palm tree not only survives but thrives stronger. So when David says that the righteous will flourish like the Palm Tree, it means that despite the storms of life, you will survive, rise again, and keep flourishing. In fact, the storms only come to make you stronger. You may bend, but you are getting right back up again!

No storm can last forever. It too shall pass. Keep in mind that trouble comes to pass, not to stay. Surely there is an end and thy expectations shall not be cut off.  Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

No matter what storm you face today, you need to know God loves you. He will never leave you nor forsake you. He won’t give up on you, as long as you don’t give up on Him. He has not abandoned you. Though sometimes, it may seem as if you are bending because of the fierceness of the storm, do not give in, do not give up. Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Keep holding on to God and His Word. It is only for a while. The storm will soon run out of rain.  Challenges and trials., will soon pass away. And surely you will rise again..

Prov. 24:16 says the righteous man falls seven times and yet rises again..

As part of the army God is raising in this end-time, understand that your case is different..  God is doing a new thing. He is preparing a people for His glory, a mighty army on the face of the earth. They are a strong race, people who will not bow to any opposition. Whatever they face, they will take the licking and still keep ticking.

You are undefeatable.  So no matter what you are facing now, get up! You’re not broken! You are built to last. The stronger one lives in you, and because He lives, you shall live also.

Our help is in the Name of The Lord. We draw strength daily from His Word. Therefore to remain strong in the face of every storm, we need to  keep our root grounded in the Word of God. When you hold on to The Word, you will only grow stronger as the storm rages.

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to stand strong despite the fierce winds of oppositions. Thank You for strengthening me by Your Word. No matter what comes my way, I thank you for the grace to always rise stronger and better in Jesus Name. .
