Sven Lidman, was born in 1882 into privilege and enjoyed the best education in Sweden. His life blossomed quickly and by 38 years, he had already published 13 books and was celebrated across Scandinavia as an acclaimed poet and novelist. He cultivated friendships with political leaders and was steeped in pleasures—fine wine, tobacco, and immoral pursuits. Outwardly, he had success but inwardly, he was restless and empty.
No matter how high Lidman climbed, nothing filled the aching void in his soul. Fame could not heal his loneliness, and wealth could not silence his spiritual hunger. Finally, in 1921, he surrendered his life to Christ and was baptized in a Pentecostal church in Stockholm. His conversion shocked the nation. Newspapers carried the story, and his name became a topic of discussion across Scandinavia.
The man who once lived for worldly applause now dedicated himself to preaching the Gospel. This divine transformation of his life brought true fulfillment, peace and joy to Lidman. He became a powerful Pentecostal voice, and through his ministry countless souls were saved and found new life in Christ.
We live in a world where success is defined by wealth, influence, or fame. But success without Christ is fragile—it crumbles under the weight of trials.
Living for God is the only foundation for true success.
It is only in Christ we have peace. In the world we are assailed with trials and tribulations: (John 16:33).
Lidman had the whole world at his feet, yet he was unfulfilled until he found Christ. By living a life that honored God he discovered his divine destiny and found true accomplishments.
Likewise, many people today climb corporate ladders, build empires, and chase applause, but end up empty. Why? Because the soul was created for communion with God and can only find true peace and joy in Him .
The truth is that every open door outside of God can become a snare and destructive trap of destiny.
But when we walk in reverence of God’s Word, He adds peace, purpose, and fulfillment to our lives. Proverbs 10:22 reminds us: “The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.”
The true measure of success is not what we gain but whom we serve. As you honor God daily, He will align your path with His perfect plan, reward your obedience, and fill your life with true peace, Joy, blessings and glory.
PRAYER: Lord, thank You for being the source of my peace, fulfillment, and true success. Help me to always honor You with my life, my time, and my choices. I know that as I walk in obedience to You, my life will shine forth with lasting fruit in Jesus’ Name.
