In 1828, Charles Finney held one of the greatest revivals in history in Rochester, New York.
However, Finney almost missed holding this revival because of his personal misgivings.
When he first received the invitation to preach at a Presbyterian Church in Rochester, New York Finney chose not to go because he knew there had been considerable division and controversy in that church.
But having a habit of praying over invitations, he called some friends to pray with him over the matter. His friends were unanimous in the opinion that he should not go to Rochester. But after they had gone, Finney felt strongly impressed upon by the Spirit that the difficulties at the church in Rochester was the very reason why he should go there.
Choosing to obey the Holy Spirit, Finney then went to Rochester.
When he arrived there, and began to hold crusades, great revival swept through the town. It turned out to become the greatest revival of Finney’s life. There were over 100,000 salvations in only six months and eventually almost every person in the town got saved and started going to church. The revival was so intense that the people lost interest in worldly things, The only theater in town closed because no one went anymore. The only beer joint in town closed too and the courthouses were virtually empty because there were hardly offenders.

Life often presents us with many options and different paths but God alone knows the best direction for us to follow. This is why it is important to consult Him before any major decision.
It can be tempting to follow our own understanding or adhere to the advice of others. But Proverbs 3:5 tells us to trust in the Lord with all our heart, and not to lean on our own understanding.
Life becomes easier when we simply follow the voice of the Spirit.
Because we live in a world where our perception is dominated by physical senses, our spirit man needs to be trained to become more sensitive to God’s voice.
Increased spiritual sensitivity comes through a lifestyle of fervent prayers, worship, fasting and in-depth study of the Word.
In these last days of the year, we will make speedy progress and move with precision by deciding to follow divine promptings in our affairs.
As we habitually subject our decisions to prayers,
God will show us great and mighty things. [Jeremiah 33:3]. And through His divine guidance, we will avoid mistakes and not miss our kairos moments.
Through reliance on the Holy Spirit, this will certainly be our season of sudden open doors, amazing breakthroughs and inexplicably breaking forth to glorious new dimensions.

PRAYER Lord, Please lead me into a deeper walk with Your Spirit. Help me to become more spiritually sensitive so as not to miss my Kairos moments in Jesus Name.
