On October 1, 2015, Lacey Scroggins, the daughter of Pastor Randy Scroggins arrived for another day of school at Umpqua Community College Oregon. While sitting in her class that morning, Lacey saw a 26-year old schoolmate come in brandishing a gun and telling everyone to get down. At first Lacey thought what was happening was part of a writing exercise for their class. But she soon realized it was all too real.
As the shooter cold-bloodedly shot each student, Lacey began to pray desperately within her. After she heard a shot close to her head, she realized the boy next to her, had been shot and he was bleeding. Then somehow, he started rolling toward her. She felt the boy’s body move over her and then his blood covered her. When the shooter came to her and told her to get up, Lacey didn’t move. Believing her to be dead, he stepped over her and shot another student. However, soon after, the police arrived and engaged the shooter in a gunfight. He eventually turned the gun on himself and took his own life. He had however, ended up killing an assistant professor and eight students.
Lacey’s father, Pastor Randy Scroggins would later tell the media that it was by divine orchestration that she got covered by the blood of another student, thereby causing the evil to pass over her.
The mystery of the Blood covenant will always compel evil to pass over the children of God. The Blood of Jesus is the divine strategy that guarantees our escape from life’s tragedies.
In the crucial exchange at Calvary, Jesus died the death we should have died. He took our pain, shame and infirmities. Because of the price He paid, affliction is not permitted to arise a second time in our lives. The covering of Jesus’ Blood upon us continually speaks ‘pass over’ to every plague and destruction. [Exodus 12:13].
Today ,no matter what comes against you, always remember that God has promised in Isaiah 54:17 ‘No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn’.
By His sacrifice, Christ has blotted out the handwriting of every ordinance against us. He has taken away from us the curses of untimely death, evil occurrence, afflictions and in exchange given us a life of overflowing abundance and blessings of every kind.
PRAYER: Lord, I thank You because by the mystery of the blood covenant I am separated from every evil occurrence. By the power in the Blood, I shall always overcome every plan of the wicked and live to declare Your works in Jesus Name
