JULY 7; STAN

Job 23:10-12 ‘..When he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined. Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.’

In 2010 Haiti had no national building code. Any building codes that existed were merely on paper, as most buildings were not according to engineering standards.
At that time Haiti was one of the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere, with sixty per cent of its ten million citizens living in poverty. This situation, led to people building anyhow, with whatever material they could afford.
This situation of things caused a devastating damage to the nation when the magnitude 7.0 earthquake hit Haiti in 2010. The earthquake caused major damages in the nation’s capital, Port-au-Prince, and other cities in the region. The poorly constructed buildings were hopelessly fragile in the grip of such a strong quake. Notable landmark buildings that were damaged or destroyed, included the Presidential Palace, the National Assembly building, the Port-au-Prince Cathedral, and the main jail. Many lives were lost when these houses built on weak foundations toppled in the earthquake.
Interestingly, the tallest building in Haiti—the Digicel building, survived the earthquake with only minor damage. Why? It was constructed according to American building codes to withstand a magnitude-7 earthquake—and it did.

Life is full of storms, troubles and challenges which often come unexpectedly to test our foundations.
A man will stand or fall based on his depth in God.
When we have a strong foundation in God and live with spiritual fervency, no sudden challenge can easily topple us. Those who crumble in the face of the storms are those who live their lives anyhow without adherence to God’s strict standard.
To be victorious over every challenge, we must maintain strong spirituality through diligently seeking God.
We are in the days of trials and temptations where different situations will come to test our belief. We must have a firm resolve to stand for Christ no matter the quaking or shaking around us.
Despite the severity of any trial, we must settle it in our minds that nothing will ever cause us to shift our position in Christ
Yes, the rain, wind, storm may sometimes blow against us, but we are destined to be more than conquerors through Christ Jesus.
God has promised that as we walk through the fire and water, He will be right there with us.
If you are facing any trying situation today, stay rooted in God because He will cause you to triumph always through Christ.
And after you have been tried you shall certainly come forth as gold. [Job 23:10].

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to build my life upon the solid foundation of faith in Your Word, so that no matter what comes my way, I will never fall in Jesus Name. .
