Galatians 2:20 ‘I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.’

Darryl Strawberry started his sports career with the New York Mets. There, older players introduced the 21-year-old Darryl to cocaine.
From then on, while his career outwardly skyrocketed, he began dying on the inside as he became addicted to drugs.
Becoming rich and famous, he lived a lifestyle of womanizing, drinking and drug addiction. However he remained miserable and there was an emptiness inside of him until he had lost virtually everything, and almost lost his life.
He only found peace when he eventually fully surrendered to Christ and committed to a life of seeking God’s Word. He later began serving as a pastor, going into prisons and preaching the Gospel.
Darryl Strawberry’s transformation from drug addict to pastor and soul winner is .indeed a miraculous testimony of the deliverance power of God’s Word.
Galatians 2:20 says ‘I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.’
The moment we give our lives to Christ we begin the most important race of our lives. However, though we may start well, as the race progresses, we often face hurdles of temptations and struggle with sin. No matter how much a man desires to be good, until he has crucified his sinful flesh nature, he may find himself going back to his vomit and former lifestyle.
This is why we need to continually come to God’s Word to receive the power to overcome.
The transformation power of the Cross is embedded in God’s Word. As we look into the Word, we receive the power to be transformed into the image of Christ. As many as receive the Word, also receive the power to become the sons of God.
Trying to live the Christian life by our own strength will only lead to failure. But as we connect to God’s Word and begin to engage the power in the Blood against the forces of sin, we will experience continual victory.
The deeper we go into God’s Word, the more the nature of God takes us over and the more the temptations of the sin and the flesh dies in us.
Anyone who is serious about living for God must accept the spiritual responsibility of daily coming to the Word so as to receive the faith and power to live victoriously and keep breaking forth to envious dimensions of destiny.
PRAYER: Lord I thank You for the power that is in Your Word. Today as I begin to engage the weapon of faith against every challenge, I know that my victory is continually assured in Jesus Name.
