At 828 metres, the 200-plus-storey Burj Khalifa in Dubai, holds the Guinness World Records for the tallest building in the world.
In March 14, 2015, the Burj Khalifa contributed to another world record when an eagle was released from its rooftop in a history–making flight. With a live-stream camera strapped to its back, this eagle’s flight set the world record for “highest-ever recorded bird flight from a man-made structure.”
An eagle’s ability to fly at high altitudes in the sky is one of its very fascinating attributes. No other bird flies as high as the eagle. However, an eagle’s ability to soar high, is as a result of its diet. Eagles do not just eat anything, they feed only on freshly killed prey and do not feed on dead things. Because of this, they also have strong vision, which can focus up to 5 kilometres from the air.
On the contrary, the vulture’s diet of dead carcasses keeps its vision impaired, so that it can’t see far. Eating dead things causes vultures to neither move fast nor fly high and thus become easy prey to wild animals.
The spiritual lessons we can learn from this is that our spiritual feeding will affect our vision and strength. What you feed your mind will determine how your life turns out. The lion which eats only fresh meat dominates in the animal world as the strongest beast.
Likewise , to reign in our world, we need to daily feed on the fresh meat of God’s Word.
The Bible says that as we wait upon the Lord we will mount up with wings as Eagles. Just as the Eagle feeds well to soar high, to mount up to great heights our spirit must feed right and feed well.
The Word of God contains the complete diet for the human spirit. When you feed on the Word, you will be strong and do exploits.
The truth is that how high you will ever fly high in life is dependent upon what you feed your mind.
Feeding on dead and polluted things from the worldly mefia can dull a man’s spiritual sensitivity. Feeding the mind with things that are contrary to God’s will can weigh a man down, and keep him on the floor, unable to soar until inevitably he becomes an easy prey to the enemy. But through feeding on God’s Word, we receive the faith to go forth and accomplish great things
It certainly takes a strong spirit to break forth to great heights in life. Because this is our year to break forth to unlimited realms, we need to become choosy over the things that access our minds.
As we daily feed on the strong fresh meat of God’s Word, our senses will be exercised to discern between good and evil. Through faith from the Word, we will surely receive the strength to mount up to the great heights of exploits that God has ordained for us this year.
PRAYER: Lord, please help me to feed constantly on Your Word, so that I can receive the faith, wisdom and revelation to do amazing exploits this year. By Your grace I will continue to break forth to glorious heights in all my endeavors in Jesus Name
