Proverbs 19:21 ‘There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand.’

DAILY READING; Galatians 6; Ezekiel 2-3; Psalm 149

The great 17th-century artist Rembrandt is one of the truly great Christian artists.
Rembrandt was born in 1606 in the Dutch town of Leyden. He grew up immersed in the Bible, which was to shape his art.
As a teenager Rembrandt demonstrated remarkable artistic talent. He quickly acquired a reputation for producing astonishing portraits.
But in later years, Rembrandt’s style was considered to be falling out of fashion as people preferred more elegant, dramatic portraits.
Refusing to compromise, Rembrandt continued to produce paintings, and drawings, often of landscapes and Biblical themes. For Rembrandt the Bible was not just history but very personally relevant. To add to the authenticity of his Bible images, Rembrandt often consulted Jewish rabbis.
Rembrandt died in 1669, leaving behind hundreds of his paintings and drawings which depict his extraordinary talent. Because he stayed true to his passion and refused to compromise, the world is blessed by his amazing paintings which are today, greatly sought after.
Recently in 2022 his masterpiece, The Standard-Bearer was sold to the government of the Netherlands for around $198 million and has since been on special display at museums throughout the country.

When God gives you a vision, you have to be intentional in making the decisions to keep following the path of destiny mapped out for you.
You can’t just follow the popular trends or adapt yourself to what everyone else is doing, no matter how lucrative. The calling upon your life is unique and though it may not seem fashionable or popular today, eventually the glory and beauty will emerge. Though the vision may tarry, wait for it, because in the end it will speak.
When we are doing what we are divinely called to do, doors of destiny will eventually open up to take us to our next levels.
As we refuse to compromise, grace, favor, supernatural opportunities and divine connections will all line up to help us arrive at our preordained place of glory.
The truth is our lives will only find full expression when we are walking in line with Gods purpose.
Frustration, discontentment and confusion only results if we leave God’s plan to follow our own paths. No matter how beautiful our own devices, it is only God’s plan that can stand the test of time.

Proverbs 19:21 says ‘There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand.’

The counsel of the Lord will always be superior to our concepts. God’s plans are always better and far greater than what we could ever achieve on our own. His thoughts and ways are higher than our own. When it is the Lord doing a thing, it will always be marvelous in our eyes. This is why we must never allow anything to hinder us from building according to the pattern He has given us.
As we keep seeking God’s counsel through consistent study of the Word, prayers and fellowship with the Spirit, it is only a matter of time before we see the full manifestation of His glorious plans in our lives.
