1 Timothy 4:15-16 ‘Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them:’

DAILY READING; 1 Corinthians 10; 2 Kings 3; Amos 8

Raymond Theodore Richey was an important figure in the history of the Pentecostal-charismatic renewal movement.
As a teenager in 1911, Richey was miraculously healed of blindness and also healed of Tuberculosis.
After his healing, he came under intense conviction to become a minister of the Gospel, but he didn’t know how to start.
However, as he continued to study the Word and pray, doors began to open up for him into ministry. One day while visiting his brother’s house he prayed for a woman with rheumatism. She was instantly healed.
News of this healing miracle traveled far and wide. Soon Richey began to get calls to pray for the sick.
Still Richey’s heart’s desire was to have greater impact in the kingdom. As he continued to study the Word and pray, he felt led to start evangelizing and organizing fervent prayers for army troops when World War I broke out.
As his ministry expanded he became associated with great preachers such as Kathryn Kuhlman, Aimee Semple McPherson, William Branham etc.
Richey began to travel internationally. He held meetings in Central and South America in 1951. His ministry work also took him to Germany, Switzerland, Japan, and Korea in 1957 and 1958.
As a young man, Raymond Theodore Richey had not known how to start out in ministry, but through being obedient to God’s Word, he followed a spiritual road map, that led him to a successful international ministry. By the time of his death on April 22, 1968, it is believed that more than one million people had responded to his calls for salvation or healing over the lifetime of his ministry.

After Moses’ death, Joshua began preparing to lead the Israelites to where they had never walked before, into a land unknown to them. Joshua didn’t know what lay ahead, but God told him to carefully follow His Word, because it would be the key to making his way prosperous and having good success.
At every juncture of our life’s journey we often face the fears of the unknown. Though we may not know what lies ahead or what next step to take, diligently studying and obeying God’s Word, will be the roadmap to our glorious destination.
To succeed in life, we cannot treat the Scriptures as a buffet line in which we pick and choose what we will obey. It is when we give ourselves wholly to it, that our profiting appears to all.[ 1 Timothy 4:15-16]
You may start small but as you persist in faith, your later end shall surely be great.
Zechariah 4:10 tells us not to despise the days of small beginnings. Don’t look at yourself and think you lack the capability to accomplish the great things you sense God is calling you to.
When David was about to fight Goliath, all he had was a slingshot and five smooth stones. It looked insignificant and ordinary, but through God’s divine help, David’s little stone became a mighty force that killed Goliath.
Wherever you may be today, as you abide obedient to God’s Word and continue to move forward by faith, God will multiply your efforts. God will not only bring your visions and dreams to pass, He will do more than you could ever ask, think or imagine.

PRAYER: Lord please help me to base my life upon the solid foundation of Your Word and prayer. I thank You for granting me the faith and boldness to accomplish the greatness You have ordained for me in Jesus’ Name.
