Colossians 2:14-15 [NLT] ‘He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. In this way, he disarmed[a] the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.

DAILY READING; 1 Corinthians 5; 1 Kings 18; Amos 2:1-3:2

In 1945 an atheistic Communist government took over Poland and stripped Churches of their legal status and banned religious symbols from public places.
In 1983, the communist government issued an order that all crucifixes were to be removed from classroom walls, just as they had been banned in factories, hospitals, and other public institutions. This stirred waves of anger and resentment all across Poland. Many church leaders protested against this order and a Solidarity movement began to place crosses in schools.
Things came to a climax when the director of the Mietnow agricultural college, who was a communist, removed seven large crucifixes from lecture halls where they had hung since the school’s founding in the 1920’s.
Days later, a group of parents entered the school and hung more crosses. The administrator promptly had these crosses taken down as well.
The next day most of the school’s six hundred students staged a sit-in. When heavily armed riot police arrived, the students were forced into the streets. Then they marched, crucifixes held high, to a nearby church where they were joined by 2500 other students from nearby schools for a morning of prayer in support of the protest.
The pictures of these students holding crosses high above their heads flashed around the world. So did the words of the priest who delivered the message to the weeping congregation that morning saying “There is no Poland without the cross,”. This he said because for over 1,000 years, Poland had a history of Christianity.
Reactions from around the world eventually forced the government to retreat from the ban on crosses. Ultimately, the Communist regime was overthrown and Poland transited from a communist party rule to a democratic political system where religious freedom was allowed. In the end, the Cross prevailed.

Truly, there is no Christianity without the Cross.
The Cross is the centerpiece of our lives as believers.
After Christ’s resurrection, when the early Church began to proclaim the Gospel, the kerygma – “Christ Crucified” – was absolutely central to their message.
In the entire history of this universe, there is no event that has more significance than the Crucifixion and resurrection of Christ.
The spiritual transaction at Calvary was Heaven’s costliest project on earth. It cost the life of the only begotten son of God. So much was invested in the Blood of Jesus shed at the Cross, to ensure our deliverance from all satanic assaults.
At the Cross, the sinless Son of God paid our debts, died our death and gave us eternal life, victory and dominion.
Colossians 2:15, [NLT] says ‘..he disarmed[a] the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.’
The Cross was hell’s greatest undoing. It was the devil’s ultimate mistake because if only he had known, he would not have crucified the King of glory.
The crucifixion of Christ released into the earth the greatest weapon against the devil and his agents, which is the Blood of Jesus.
Today, through the Blood we have the power to overcome every attack of the enemy in the form of sickness, financial troubles, relationship crisis, trials, temptations etc.
No matter where it may seem you have been cornered today, there is always a way out through the Blood.
Understanding the power of the Cross is our secret to a victorious Christian life. The Cross is a constant reminder that we are destined to triumph always.
It is the principal symbol of our victory, because it is where Jesus Christ shed His Blood, crushed the head of satan and restored our dominion.

PRAYER; Father, I thank You for sending Jesus to die for me, to enable me live in dominion and power. By Your grace I shall no longer live in defeat. Rather my life will begin to reflect the victory Christ won for me at the cross in Jesus Name.
