Kelvin McDaniel is a missionary and author of the book ‘From Under the Bridge’.
Kelvin McDaniel has often told the story, with tears flowing down his face, of how he was miraculously delivered from death through the prayers of his parents.
As a young teenager, Kelvin rebelled against his Christian family and ran away from his home in Alabama. He travelled with some friends to New York City, where he lived a rough life. He had little money and would sometimes squat in other people’s apartments or live on the streets. But even in his rebellion, Kelvin always knew that his mother and father were continually praying for him. He was especially certain of this because of an amazing deliverance he experienced.
One November evening, Kelvin was walking through an alley when suddenly he was cornered by two strong men who attempted to rob him. One of them pinned him to the wall with a knife to his throat. At that moment Kelvin feared he was about to be murdered and end up as another New York crime statistic.
However, thousands of miles away, at that very moment, a preacher was visiting his mother.
Suddenly this preacher said, “God is showing me Kelvin’s life is in danger. We must pray now!”
As his mother and the preacher began interceding for him,
Kelvin witnessed a miracle. The robber who was holding the knife to his throat suddenly turned and punched his partner in the face with his fist. Kelvin said, “It was as though a spirit of confusion fell upon the robbers.” Screaming at his partner, the attacker dropped his knife on the ground. Seizing the opportunity, Kelvin sprinted full speed out of the alley and into the street without looking back.
During that special prayer in their home in Alabama, the preacher assured his mother that Kelvin would be protected and would return home. He also said that one day Kelvin would take the Gospel to the nations of the world.
Kelvin indeed returned home soon after and was amazed to learn about the preacher who had prayed for his deliverance at the very moment he was being attacked.
Years later there was also the fulfilment of the Word that Kelvin would become a minister of the Gospel.Today Kelvin McDaniel is a missionary evangelist, who ministers to crowds of thousands of people.
Kelvin believes that God protected him because his parents were obedient to persist in prayers, despite his rebellion, until the promises of God was fulfilled in his life.
Persistent and consistent prayers is necessary to stop the gates of hell from prevailing in our lives and in our families. While it is true that we are living in perilous times of great spiritual conflicts, we do not have to be troubled because through prayer we can provoke divine interventions.
When we pray, things shift in the spirit realm as our prayers activate the workings of grace.
Prayer ushers in order out of chaos and overturns the plans of the enemy in our lives and in the lives of our loved ones..
As we pray, we are making spiritual deposits that will soon cause eruptions of miracles and supernatural deliverances.
One thing we can always be sure of is that God answers prayers. Often times in our lives, the enemy tries to make us to think that God didn’t hear our prayers and didn’t care.
But if you will stay persistent, you will find that indeed God does hear the cry of the righteous.
If we travail in prayers and refuse to grow weary, we will surely reap the promises of God in our lives.
You cannot tell how, but you will look up and see that God has indeed exceeded your expectations and done far above what you could ever ask, think or imagine. That is the way our God works, He is faithful to the end and those that put their trust in Him are never put to shame.
We serve the wonder-working God He is the chain-breaker who can destroy everything trying to block our progress, peace and joy.
No matter what you may be faced with today, call upon Him in prayers and He will surely answer you. Our being able to experience greater open doors this year, will not be accidental rather, it will be the result of deliberately assuming spiritual responsibility on the altar of prayer. Through prayer you can fight your way into the fulfillment of the prophecies spoken over you this year.
Therefore today, instead of worrying or fretting over any issue or being anxious, rather by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, let us present our requests to God.’(Philippians 4:6).
As we pray, let us rejoice in the Lord always because God is already working in ways and methods we may not fathom and sooner than we know it, we will see God’s Word fulfilled in amazing ways..
PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for Your grace that has brought me thus far. I know that even now You are working in my favour. Lord I thank You because I know that every impossible situation is being turned right now into an amazing testimony for me in Jesus Name
