2Chronicles 26:5 ‘And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God, and as long as he sought The Lord, God made him to prosper.’
DAILY READING • Mark 13:14-37; 1 Kings 7; Hosea 9:1-16
In 1903 an ambitious young man named James Kraft moved to Chicago, Illinois, with the desire of becoming the most successful manufacturer and salesman of cheese in the world. A dedicated Christian and a hard worker, James Kraft purchased a pony and a wagon. He began buying cheese in bulk wholesale and selling it to grocers in smaller quantities, neatly packaged in ways that delayed spoiling in an era before refrigeration.
Early each morning he loaded his wagon with cheese then delivered it to stores throughout the city. But as the months passed, Kraft began to despair. Despite all his long hours and hard work he was making very little profit.
One day he pulled his wagon to a stop and began pondering on what he was not doing right and why his business was not growing. He then realized that his priorities were not where they ought to be, because he was not placing God first in his life and business.
He then drove home and made a covenant that for the rest of his life he would first serve the Lord and then work as God directed.
As Kraft began to keep his pledge, the Lord greatly prospered his business ventures. In 1916 he invented and patented a process of pasteurizing cheese which resisted spoiling and could be shipped long distances. In the years that followed his business expanded into international markets.
James Kraft served as Superintendent of his Church’s large Sunday.
He was a man of prayer and never made a decision without going on his knees. He recognized God as the senior partner in his business, who must always be consulted before any major decision.
Kraft remained a faithful Christian until his death in 1953 and his products still remain favorite staples on grocery shelves throughout the world today.
2 Chronicles 26:5 says ‘And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God, and as long as he sought The Lord, God made him to prosper.’
The level of our seeking God determines the level of our prosperity in life.
As believers, many of us can claim to be indeed seeking God, but the question is, are we seeking Him “first.”
Are we making Him our greatest priority and making His Word our final authority?
We cannot make great progress if we are enthroning ourselves our desires, our needs and plans above God’s will. It is our decision to give God first place that makes the difference in our journey.
Pursuing after the heart of God is the secret card for experiencing success in life. God is not ‘a’ factor for our success, God is ‘the’ factor for our success.
God is the maker of men’s destinies, and it is only through following Him that we become made in life.
Truly, we cannot make a mark in life until God has first put His mark on us. And we will have no effect until He has first affected us.
When you put God first, you will never end up as last. And when you advance His kingdom, you’ll never end up at the back. Mighty men are made by the Almighty God. He is the Most High God, and all who are joined to Him end up in the high places of life.
We can never impact our world until God has first impacted us.
And for God to impact us, it requires time spent in prayer, study of the Word and fellowship with the Spirit.
To succeed in our endeavors, it is important for us to consult God through prayers in every step we take.
Our willingness to follow God in complete faith and obedience will determine how well we will fulfill our destiny. Indeed as we persistently make God our top priority, we will ascend to life’s topmost places and continually experience amazing open doors.
PRAYER: Father, I thank You for the grace to always seek You first in everything. Truly, without You, I can do nothing. Thank You Lord for perfecting all that concerns me and causing me to experience amazing open doors through out this year in Jesus’ Name.
